I bought this for our grandkids, all under 5 y.o. I originally looked at larger, more expensive hoops hoping to find one that could be lowered sufficiently for our current needs but that could be raised to regulation height as the kids aged. I gave up on this approach: they couldn't be lowered enough, or installation was awful, or they were way too expensive. I decided to go with a dedicated little kids hoop which we will eventually replace when the kids get older. This model seemed like a good balance between features and price, but I was prepared to be disappointed. Instead, I was surprised as I assembled it. The design and manufacture quality seemed pretty good. Installation was clear and trouble-free. I won't know how it resists rust until it's been outside all season; I've got my fingers crossed. Note that in the photo, the hoop can be lowered quite a bit more...just enough for my 2 year old to barely tip the ball into the hoop. It's currently set for my 4 y.o., and it can be raised quite a bit for the next few years. The cinder block probably isn't needed but I'm not taking any chances. I highly recommend that you buy a container of Base Gel to ensure that the base doesn't freeze, crack, and/or leak. ... show more

I purchased 2 for both my Grandsons (age 3 and 4) I choose this one because of the adjustable height and this one was what I had in mind for them. The lowest setting is perfect for their age. So far so good. My son filled it with water and all good so far seeing as it will be for outside. My other son plans on keeping it in the house to play with for now so not sure what he will fill it with or just use a weight on the back. But, I’m very pleased the kids enjoy it seeing as they put it up today. I also ordered 7” pop a shot balls for them since they have lil hands. And I wanted something that’s like a real basketball feel. I don’t have any pics yet since they FaceTimed me to show me but I’m really glad I choose this one! I’m a BIG researcher when it comes to choosing gifts for the babies.. and I’m so glad I went with this one. And remember this was for a 3yr and 4yr old.     • Great pool basketball hoop with a few caveats.
Got this for a pool basketball hoop because it checked off most of the boxes. Affordable ✅ Portable ✅ Quick Adjustable ✅ Fairly sturdy ✅ The caveats now. After one day of rain the bolts have rusted. Won't really effect the sturdiness but rust in concrete is stain city. The rim-to-backboard width is not ideal. 16" rim is like 2" short of regulation and the backboard looks dinky compared to it. It would've been PERFECT with a 14" rim. No ball. Why is this a caveat? Because what in the heck size ball do you use. Using a regulation size basketball is just too big. I bought a 9" pool ball but that's almost regulation size. The normal ones that come with kiddie hoops are too small so I think a 7" one is probably the right size but I won't know until I return the 9" ones and get those. Just upcharge us for a proper sized basketball. Rusty bolts and small rim to backboard ration is what makes it imperfect but hot damn is it nicer than the little tykes one we had. ... show more

This basketball hoop is not even close to 7ft. Flimsy. Can’t shoot on it. Backboard is so small a normal size basketball is bigger than it. Save your money. This is trash

    • Decent hoop, wrong hardware
If this hoop is for the outdoors, and is even advertised as poolside, why would the manufacturer not send stainless steel hardware. Less than a months use and every nut, washer, bolt looks like its 30 years old. Outside of that the hoop is solid enough for what we are using it for. Poolside with water and 50lb sand bag. And when the pool is closed i will set this up for my 4 year old to use. At that time ill replace all hardware with SS so it might last a while ... show more

    • Very please with the product and easy to follow directions and parts organization for assembly.
The product is well made and suited to young children with availability to grow with them. The directions were well organized and laid out making them very easy to follow. The tools sent for assembly were of a good quality. The parts for each section were organized and labeled so you didn’t have to hunt for them amongst all the other parts and nothing was missing.
