  • Fantastic Roof Rack! Simple to Assemble and Well Built
I have wanted a rack for the top of my Jeep for some time now and necessity being the mother of Amazon purchases: I ordered and just received my WILDROAD Roof Rack Cargo Basket, Upgraded 4” Fence Car Roof Basket with Extension, 64"x 39"x 4" version today, and I couldn’t be more impressed! The entire experience, from unboxing to assembly, was a breeze. It took me only about ten minutes to put the rack together, and everything fit together seamlessly; I laid out the four sections, brought the middle section together with an effortless fit. Then brought the front and the rear sections to the middle section - no effort, no forced alignment - it simply all fit together. The holes lined up perfectly, and the supplied screws were more than enough—one extra included, which is always a nice touch. The assembly process was incredibly straightforward and could easily be completed by one person in under 15 minutes. Because there was no struggle with fitting parts or needing any adjustments, it was a hassle-free experience. I have to admit, I didn’t take any photos of the assembly because it went together so quickly that I didn’t even think to grab my camera before I was finished! Once assembled, the rack looks amazing—streamlined, sturdy, and sleek. It’s a solid, well-built piece of equipment that feels like it’ll stand the test of time, and it really adds a great look to my vehicle. When it stops snowing I'll see about a picture of it on the Jeep. A quick note on the scuffs mentioned in other reviews: Yes, there were some very minor scuffs on mine as well, but they do not expose any bare metal, and most of them came off with just a quick wipe from a cloth. These types of marks are typical with shipping and handling, and I honestly don’t think they detract from the overall quality of the product. If you’re expecting perfect cosmetic condition, you might be disappointed, but if you’re after a well-built, functional, and great-looking rack, you won’t regret it. In summary, I’m extremely satisfied with this purchase. The WILDROAD Roof Rack is easy to assemble, looks fantastic, and is clearly built to last. Thank you WILDROAD for making my roads a little less wild. (Okay I'm sorry.. it was just there... I digress) Five Stars Plus! Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Great product.
Good! Well made and sturdy. Lots of room with extension insert. Easy to install, just takes time to get centered and attachments equal (for perfectionists) depending on your rail setup. Can hear wind pass over the fairing plate but not loud or bothersome. Works great for the camping I use it for. Can install fairing plate backwards so you don't see name and can have just flat black (with stickers, of course!!) One thing that got me was space between the attachments and rail. I had to use thin (attachment thickness) pieces of rubber to fill the gap. I have 3 pieces of maybe 1/4" think pieces in each of the 4 attachment points, 12 total. Now I gotta keep from losing them when off my car. But I still recommend - just pay attention to your rail thickness vs attachment spacing. ... show more

  • Not bad, but read reviews.
Size: 64" Cargo Rack + Net
Easy to put together, held all my camping gear, sustained 80mph speeds from NE to CO, and looks nice. The downside is that if your rails are not large enough, then the mounting option is limited to having the screw tips face up. This will potentially damage gear. I was able to modify the gap with spare rubber blocks I shaped down to size to get the fitment right. This way I was able to keep the screws facing down. Noise isn’t terrible, but you can definitely hear it. Overall, not bad for the price. Still, if you have the money get a name brand. ... show more

  • Perfect!
This was purchased to hold my 200watt solar panel. I have an Odyssey and was having difficulty figuring out the most secure way to attach my panel to the roof of the van. Saw this last minute and decided to give it a try. There are so many things to consider when installing anything on the roof of a vehicle. My racks are fixed and do not have a channel. The space between the rails also narrows toward the back of the van. I was able to put the basket together in about 20 minutes and applied the sealant. At first, I thought the clamps were not going to line up right with my fixed, non adjustable racks. But I went ahead and clamped it on loosely at first then tightened down after they were all on and it fit perfectly. Super stoked! The panel, which fit perfectly inside the basket and between the claps, was attached to the basket with U clamps I purchased separately. It’s all on securely and will be simple to take down when necessary. I feel this basket is a great deal for the price and offers a variety of ways to clamp on to racks. So, it likely works on many vehicles. Once tightened up it feels very secure. I like that it came with the necessary hardware and tools. Seems to be good quality and worth the extra effort to seal and paint with some Rustoleum. It’s definitely worth a try. Great solution for me. ... show more

  • Best Rack On The Market Best Rack On The Market
Size: 64" Cargo Rack + Bag + Net
Prior to purchasing this setup we used a different brand roof bag that worked well. With our cross bars the bag was pushed up where the bars were, limiting the space. Went ahead and got this setup with the bag becuase we liked that the WildRoad matched on the rack and bag and the color of this bag matched our vehicle. The rack itself got the bag off the car allowing full packing potential, and pack it we did. This held 2 full size suitcases, a carry on, 2 queen sized sleeping bags, a camp grill with propane, 2 queen, air mattresses, 2 heavy blankets, 4 pillows, 2 large folding chairs and several other random items. The setup was very easy and loading items into the bag was also very easy. Since we’d used a bag on top before getting the straps to be the right tightness was a breeze. I used the same rubber bands that came in the kit to rubber band the end of the straps, once done, to keep them from blowing in the wind. We drove 1810 miles over 9 days, totaling 27 hours from Houston to Big Bend to Dallas back to Houston. There was zero noise, nothing shifted, the straps stayed secure. I’d thought there would naturally be noise, I was wrong, not a peep the entire time. We went off roading several times with the setup up on top and it still handled like a champ. We also love the look of the rack and will be keeping it up top when not traveling. It also rained heavily up in Dallas and everything remained dry. If you are looking for a setup like this, look no further, this is the one. Buy with confidence. ... show more

  • Marginally universal
Nice size basket with lower side rails. Comes in quite a few pieces but assembly is pretty straight forward. I didn't like the sealant. It is really thin and runny which allowed it to drip. If you want to seal the joints, I recommend buying a thicker silicone sealant. On my first test drive, the front plate vibrated badly and made a lot of noise, so I removed that. The brackets were too deep to fit my crossbars (2017 Honda Pilot) so I cut up an old leather belt to make spacers which worked well. I mounted a car top carrier into the basket. Second test drive was extremely noisy so I removed the carrier. Ended up carrying two plastic playpen fences in the roof basket with minimal noise. The screw knobs on the basket mounting brackets stayed tight for 1400 miles (which I didn't expect). Might use this again now that I have it but wouldn't purchase again due to the modifications needed and the noise while driving. ... show more

  • GREAT RACK FOR THE PRICE! You Cannot Wrong GREAT RACK FOR THE PRICE! You Cannot Wrong
Size: 84-1 Wide Rack
I took this baby for a two week ride from North Carolina to Georgia, then to Orlando, Florida and all around Florida. And believe me it rained all the time while I was on the tour. I was in the Military before as a paratrooper, were they taught us in taking care of the gear and equipment. First, I took some time to assemble the rack, since it did not have no instructions. But if you have some good common sense, it a great rack for the price. . I have a tank for a SUV (Chevy Tahoe 2022) and the large one covered very well. But I did not need it that late, so I decided to do not use the extension that comes with it. Another thing, you need to use 3 Roof RackCross Bars Luggage Rail Carrier. That is if you are going to place lots of weight on top. It is a most!!! I use to pack Mortars to be dropped from an aircraft, I know what I am telling you. I did used only two, and I have to redistribute the load, because the frame was sagging a little, but with there crossed bars, it will be a cakewalk. This rack comes with a little/small tube of what it looks like an Anti-seize compound. I did took my time and placed it all around the welded joints, any place that it was a tube touching another, in the connections, and on the screw holes. Then I took the mighty can of WD-40 Lube and went downtown with it. Let it sit overnight, and in the morning cleaned the excess. My boy its a Transportation officer with over 22 years in the military and he was in this family tour, and he was very impressed. That I bought him one set and he took it back to Germany with him. Again, this is a Great Rack for occasional tours if you take care of it, then store it back. Cannot tell you if it last long. But for a short turn around and store it back, then use it again. Its bargain. One other thing that forgot to cover... you will need 4 more of the Amazon Basics 15-Feet Ratchet Tie Downs. Is a Most. The kit comes only with 3 ratchet Tie Down Straps. They are good to tie down from front to back, but you will not have nothing from Side-to-Side. That's all my friends, hope this helps you much. Rob Out... GY6 ... show more

  • Worked exactly how I needed it Worked exactly how I needed it
Size: 64" Cargo Rack + Bag + Net
This worked great for my trip from NH to NC. I paired the rack with brightlines crossbars (bought on Amazon as well), which were recommended for my model of car many times in a forum I’m in. I measured the top of my car/cross bar trackings and went with the 64”, which was the perfect size for a 2019 grand cherokee. I put the rack together on my own, had a friend assist me in getting the rack on top of my grand cherokee, and tightened all the brackets on my own. Instructions were clear and I felt confident in doing everything on my own (5’6” female). I drove around with it for a few days before my trip and felt it was secure and it was not noisy. Even with the bag on, it was not super noisy. As far as the bag: it was easy to install, zip, and hook all the straps to the rack. The back straps proved to be a little harder, only because I didn’t have a step stool and stood on the back bumper which isn’t super safe. I felt it was secure with the straps that attach to the bag, but added an extra ratchet strap for the second half of my drive since the highway speeds would be higher. I tucked the excess side straps in my doors but every now and then they would flap in the wind and make noise (just annoying) so next time I’ll tie/tuck them under the bag. It rained for the last half of my drive (8 hours) and everything inside stayed dry! It held A LOT and probably could’ve held more vertically, but some of duffle bags were very full and heavy and I didn’t want to go over the weight limit. I definitely recommend the whole set up - rack and bag. I originally was going to get a roof bag without a rack, but this gave me much more peace of mind that my stuff wasn’t going to fly off my car, and was super easy to build and install. ... show more
