I bought these gloves for sailing and was relatively pleased. They have good grip and protection. One downside to these gloves are that the 3/4 length fingers are not quite long enough to protected the upper portions of your fingers from ropes etc. If they were slightly longer in the fingers, they would be excellent. Unfortunately, I don’t think sizing up would be a solution because then they would be too large around my palms. These gloves performed well for what I needed, but there is definitely some risk with the shorter fingers. They are lightweight and fairly thick, without being too hot on a summer day. ... show more

I never thought I needed gloves for handling sailboat ropes until I got these. They provide excellent skin protection and are very comfortable. I now wear them all the time! You get what you pay for and they aren't charging much. You do get your money's worth at minimum. The list of applicable activities seems to be a stretch. I bought them for kayaking and they lack the grip and flexibility for that, at least as far as being a great product for it. I usually wear a large, but wanted some extra room, so I ordered XL.
