Description

The Ropeman 1 is Wild Country’s original ascender developed over 10 years ago. It retains the same versatile design that’s been handy for hauling, pulley setups, prusiks, self-rescue, and more. Most big walls and even some multi- pitches require this ascender’s versatile performance. It’s even simple to haul lighter climbing gear up a single chimney pitch so neither climber needs to wear the pack.

These were built well and durable. I use these with my climbing stand and they have never failed even after two years of use! You don’t have to worry about your safety when using them. They were also a good bang for your buck.

  • Great product

These are great and don't damage your rope. I bought several for my kid and myself. These are great for ascending and added safety. Mostly used for trees but I would use for rock climbing.

I'm big-ger guy, and have to take into account the load ratings on many items that are suspended for hunting. Using a Prusik knot - while safe - lacks a lot in rapid adjustability. This item allows for rapid adjustment on a saddle bridge and a linemans loop. Well made, easy to use, and should last a number of years if cared for. ... show more

  • Loose your Prusik knot and get an Ascender!
Style: Blue
Absolutely Love It! In fact, this is the second Ascender I've purchased! I am using them as part of my safety system for climbing in and out of my hunting stands and I have never felt more safe in my 30years of bowhunting! I have switched from using the conventional "hunters safety harness" to using a rock climbing harness and it has revolutionized my hunting experience! The rig I have put together has both a lineman's belt and the standard center loop so as I'm hanging climbing steps or my stand and encounter tree limbs I can put a tether around the the tree above the limb, and clip a Wild Country Ropeman Ascender into the center loop. Then unhook the second ascender from the lineman's belt, move it above the limb, and never be unattached from the tree! Then once in my stand I never have to mess around with getting a safety harness through the back of jacket again! Plus, by using the Climbing Harness attached in the center, I never have to worry about the tree tether getting in the way when I'm ready to shoot! And speaking of using the Lineman's belt...if you've every struggled trying to get a prusik knot to just the right length with one hand while holding onto the tree with the other...you are going to love how simple it is to use the Wild Country Ropeman Ascender! simply lift up on the cable loop to disengage the teeth and lean back to get more slack... or grab the tag end of the rope and pull yourself as tight to the tree as you want to be! Thanks Wild Country for a quality product that has changed the way I hunt! ... show more

  • Essential saddle hunt item Essential saddle hunt item

Prusik hitch $7; Ropeman $45. The Ropeman gets you up a tree faster so you can focus more time on hunting and less time fiddling with your lines. If you want to save a bit then use a Ropeman for your lineman rope and a Prusik for the tether since you won’t adjust it as often. I have Ropemans for both my main lines, and Prusiks on my secondary backup lines. Just remember to use the correct rope diameter. I know 8mm is becoming more popular because it’s more compact, but 8mm will not work safely on a Ropeman 1. ... show more
