This Foot ascender works great, exactly like it was designed too. It is very well-made, offers a great sense of security, knowing it will not fail. It is a great climbing accessory, if not a must have. I finally have one for each foot, and it makes ascending ropes possible, for diameters that would normally not be climbable by hand. In combination with the hand descenders, you can go up a rope faster, and easier than a ladder. With experience anyway. Very easy to use, and very inexpensive. Don’t buy this. Used one time and my rope completely bent the teeth backwards. It wouldn’t unlock and left me in a dangerous position. Had to cut it off my leg. Beware of made in china gear. Sometimes is cheap and looks like the real deal, but it’s not. Only buy made in USA gear.
