This is so worth the money if you are a hunter and are climbing with a linesman belt/rope. Prusik knots are very difficult to slide up the rope without using both hands, but this Ropeman is a breeze to operate one-handed. Makes a significant difference in the ease and speed of ascending and descending. It is also safer because you can hold the tree or steps with one hand while adjusting with the other hand, rather than having to use both hands to slide the prusik knot. The Ropeman 1 is already so well known and respected that there's not much to say. I like it because it is small, simple, and effective, so it's easy to use with one hand and not a lot of thought. The teeth are less aggressive than the ropeman 2, causing less damage to your rope. Very nice for a lineman belt and ascending. Two thumbs up on this one! ... show more

I used a cheaper bulkier ascender for a season and when I saw this it lighten my hunting saddle and function like a charm! Seen two eights walking up the first sit with this! This is an absolute game changer. I’ve been using a lineman’s belt with a prussic knot and it was always hard to adjust one handed. I saw a video with this and literally got it the day before I left to hang stands in KY. Holy Crap!!! I wish I had found this years earlier. So easy to adjust in or out that I found myself staying connected all the way to the top and not getting frustrated and just disconnecting like I would do with the prussic.
