  • You haven't climbed if you haven't used a foot ascender
Hand Orientation: Left
Got a vertical asset you need to make and you don't feel like using your arm strength to get up there? Foot ascender to the rescue. Holy Hector does this thing make it easy to climb up vertically unassisted when they're nowhere close to the tree. Easy to install solid mechanism that's on par with brand names that start with n and otherwise. This is thoroughly changed the game for me and my trimming career. ... show more

  • Come loose during use additional buckles required
Hand Orientation: left Black+Right orange
I had issues with the unit loosing up on their own during climbing. The buckles used just do not latch onto the straps and hokd them tight enough. I had to go and purchase extra buckles and add them onto the units to securely fasten them to prevent them from coming loose on their own.

  • Dangerous. Spend a little more on some better ones.
Hand Orientation: left Black+Right orange
When they work, they work well. The spikes bite tenaciously into the rope, and I can immediately put my full weight on that foot. However, they have some serious flaws. For one, if you angle your foot even the slightest bit on the up step, the rope comes out. It's incredibly frustrating. It's less of an issue when using both at the same time (not sure if that's kosher, but I don't have a knee ascender and using two was only slightly awkward), however, the orange one's bottom strap kept sliding loose the last time I used it. I was in no real danger from it, but the experience of the next person it happens to may vary. I tried fiddling with the strap while sitting mid climb, but nothing I did would get the strap to stay put. It would slide nearly all the way out as soon as I put weight on it. Not good. ... show more

  • I do not recommend
Hand Orientation: left Black+Right orange
There are several defects with this that several people have outlined in their reviews. The rope does in fact fall out quite easily. The straps are extremely hard to manage. It’s hard to get a tight fit around my shoes. Additionally, the straps also come loose when you don’t need them to. The fitting of the ascender isn’t quite aligned perfectly either. I would not recommend this. ... show more

  • Great foot ascender, finally have one for each foot
Hand Orientation: Left
This Foot ascender works great, exactly like it was designed too. It is very well-made, offers a great sense of security, knowing it will not fail. It is a great climbing accessory, if not a must have. I finally have one for each foot, and it makes ascending ropes possible, for diameters that would normally not be climbable by hand. In combination with the hand descenders, you can go up a rope faster, and easier than a ladder. With experience anyway. Very easy to use, and very inexpensive. Great product, highly recommended. ... show more

  • Unsure of the quality of materials
Hand Orientation: Right
It looks okay and comparable to any uiaa approved foot ascender however I'm not sure I would trust it with my full safety on it I will always have a backup when using it

  • Nice ascender
Hand Orientation: Left
Great for top roping. A big help so I can still get out there with my son and do some climbing, gives that extra edge. Nice quality and functions well, easy to use and ascend. Fast shipping

  • Unreliable/Rope Slips Out
Hand Orientation: Right
I couldn't manage to get the rope to stay below the cam and in the ascender - it would slip out at the slightest movement. Maybe more experienced users will find the product useful, but I found ascending to be more difficult with this ascender on than without it (when used along with a knee ascender). ... show more
