If you're already looking at these then you know you probably want it. The GriGri is known for being a great device and I will reiterate that fact. I used this on a recent climb trip to Red River Gorge with my family who are all new. I wanted a bit of extra security after teaching them all how to belay me, particularly because I can be up to twice the weight of some of them and wanted to add a layer of safety. Sure enough, I took a small fall while leading and sent my wife into the air (nothing crazy but enough to startle her) the GriGri cam grabbed as it should and she was able to quickly recover. I'd happily recommend this for belaying and the added safety it can provide. ... show more
