I purchased this item to help me with a roof replacement on an old barn roof. The roof is very steep and this item allowed me to make quick adjustments to hold my position when I moved up and down the roof. No more making knots when you change positions. Just release the lever to lower your rope or just pull the rope through the clamp device to take up the slack when you go up the roof. Item was a huge time saver.
