I cant honestly say how good it is yet because i am a slightly disabled woman with a C3 to S1 spine injury that i will never fully recover from. So with that here we go. I did not receive an owners manual. But its common sense putting it together since you are just attaching the handle. Other common knowledge is charging the batteries to full before use. I am unsure of speed on charge because i put one on the charger one morning before work and then came home and charged the other. So the one thing i had problems with is getting the blade to engage. Mainly because as soon as you hold up the bottom lever (self propel) you push the start button. For me it wouldnt engage with both levers at same time. So when holding SP lever the wheels start turning but then you have to bring down the blade lever to the handle and press the start button again to engage. And for me the slowest level was fine but had to bump it up just slightly. The fast speed for me was WAY TOO FAST like watching a 90 yr old walking a bull mastiff if the mastiff wasn't trained to heal. But for norma person fastest speed might be perfect. As you can see by the pictures i posted, my grass was in dire need of a cut. I really liked the one handle to raise all wheels at once. Saves a persons back. I had it set for the highest level. I used the mulching and it really didnt leave a lot of grass mess so it did really well especially with the height of my grass. I did not mow that much because my back was in pain and legs were shaking, but i think i mowed for about 30 to 45 min (again i am very slow) and battery i guess was dying but not sure because i was pretty done (pain wise) by that time anyway. I put the battery back on the charger. Wiped down the mower and folded it up and placed it next to the two non working gas mowers and gas cans that im so glad i dont need to use anymore. I was happy i didnt have to wait for my mower to cool off before i could wipe down or deal with the fuel smell bring back into garage. Oh almost forgot… the handle adjustment for tall people. Its really nice. Although i am short, now my bf can possibly do this and since its self propelled he shouldnt die in the heat as quickly. And its okayish for me to do if absolutely need to. I did notice that the charger will blink green. Since i didnt get an owners manual i am assuming that the charger was hot. My battery said fully charged when i checked the little push button on battery so i unplugged the charger. I saw someone before in reviews wondering where you can purchase new batteries and i googled it and said lowes or tractor supply. Anyway im going to throw this tip out there as well just for the added common sense ALWAYS REMOVE BATTERY BEFORE FLIPPING OR GOING ANYWHERE NEAR THE BLADE you never know. But since i didnt get an owners manual im sure others wont either. But most people dont read them anyway. Want to add in there too, i did pay a service to mow my lawn since it had been two month since last mow. I didnt want to break my new mower on that bad of lawn LOL So upkeep will be easier. I will update on battery life and charge and performance once i actually mow the whole yard But i give it a four star for now just because of my lawn condition and my physical condition prevented a thorough use. Update: have had for almost a year now. My back has made some progress. Last year i would use almost four batteries to mow front OR back yeard because the slow was still too fast for me lol. But now i can mow each yard with 3 batteries. 1 1/2 per yard including front ditch. The mower works fantastic and sometimes it still gets too fast on the fastest but again 2 1/2 years after full spine injury and i can mow a lawn again! Yay! Sooooo much easier and lighter than a gas mower. If you have any major injury, this is the mower for you.

I like that it was delivered a day early. It's very lightweight which I like; makes it easy for a disabled 64 year old woman to handle. It does a very good job cutting the grass. Battery charges quickly and lasts a good amount of time. Assembly was easy once hubby and I stopped trying to make it more complicated then it is. I've only cut the grass once but if it continues like this I'll be very happy. Update: After using this mower some pros and cons: Pros: Easy to use and lightweight Very low noise Cuts the grass well Con: Wish the battery would last longer will have to buy a spare Still overall would give this mower a 5 star

Update: I ended up exchanging the previous one I had because of the number of times it stopped and needed to be restarted was just insane. The replacement has worked fine. Very easy to use. Lightweight and easy to carry or move. I must’ve just received a mower before but this one works very well. Original review: I just received this so this is my review based on one use. It was fairly easy to put together even though the assembly instructions were kinda bad and tiny print. I checked the battery and it wasn’t fully charged so I charged it until full. Not sure if I have a faulty battery or what but as it’s charging the lights did not display to help determine how charged the battery was. I had to keep periodically pressing the power on button. I thought this was a little odd. Upon first usage, it turned off twice within the first two fairly small rows. The grass hasn’t been cut for awhile but it wasn’t extremely long. It did start again after turning off but this became a theme for the entire lawn. It would cut fine then turn off. I’d check and nothing was stuck and not too much grass in the catcher. I just had to keep starting it. The battery did get me through the entire yard which was good and why I ordered a new mower. For reference, I had been using a 13 inch 20v which wouldn’t last the full lawn without a second battery. All in all, the cut was clean and even. Yard looks good but there are some issues and difficulties with its operation. I’m debating if I should return it because it doesn’t seem like it will last very long but with a little work it does the job for now.

First time today using the lawnmower. I think the main thing people want to know in a review is this. Does it cut grass??? The answer is yes!!!!!! It is light weight and gets in places where I struggled before. I have a half acre property, and for the past 3 years I have purchased a new, huge gas powered, self-propelled mower. They all broke and became too hard to start, so I had to junk them. This mower cuts as well, performs just as well, so I'm hoping this is a keeper. As far as the reviews on the battery life.....all I can say is that any electric lawn item you have (saws, weed eaters, lawnmowers) you should expect to recharge. It is the nature of the product. I just take a lunch break, or trim bushes while my battery is charging. So far, I love it!!! As a follow up to the battery life. It took me 5 charges to do my front yard (takes almost 3 hours to charge the 40v 4.0Ah). I could deal with that, if the battery was available for purchase. However, they don't make it anymore. They told me I could purchase a 40v 2.5 or 2.0Ah, but that would be even half the battery life of the bigger 4.0. This is the 1st time I've ever bought an electric lawnmower, so I just didn't know. My recommendation to myself and others is to do extensive research on the battery availability first. I understand batteries aren't going to last long, but that can be ok if the company has the same battery in stock so the consumer can purchase an extra one. My advice to myself and others is just to make sure the lawnmower they are buying will continue to manufacture the longer life battery that comes with the mower so we can buy an extra one (which would solve a lot of the problem of low battery life). This way one can be used and the other one charging. I've lived and learned and will do my research on what matters - the availability of an extra battery. Sadly, there is no extra one made for the Badger. I really do love this lawnmower!!!

It's a worthless POS because doesn't matter how well it works if it can't survive from one season to the next without the battery becoming dead and unrechargeable then it's useless. I bought this new and mowed the lawn once and stored the battery as recommended. Now the battery won't charge so I got 1 VERY small yard mowing out of this battery and And starting in the new season with a dead battery. There are not detailed instructions of how to store and maintain the battery except to keep it clean and dry. Youtube videos and AI can't explain how to keep it in that apparent midway half charged state it has to be in to stay alive over the winter! What is it-- an endangered species of hibernating squirrel or a BATTERY, for EFF's sake??? You cannot buy replacement batteries by themselves except used with no warranty and no way to know how long they might last. You can buy the 20 Volt fairly easily. The mower needs a 40v. Not to be found. None of the usual shopping sites nor the Badger official site can you buy the 40 Volt replacement battery and even when you can find it used, it's half the cost of the original Mower PLUS battery. Right now it's $92 for the only one 40 Volt USED battery available on Amazon and the eBay Badger site has none. You can buy a whole new tool for $$$250 +dollars that comes with The same 40 Volt battery---a tool I don't need-- but I wonder how long that one lasts? Wouldn't it be hilarious to buy another tool only to have that battery die at the end of this season? That way, that you end up with two dead batteries and two tools that are virtually brand new. I'm beyond disgusted!

I am a 74-year-old woman who still likes to mow my grass abd take care of my yard. I did look at quite a few battery powered mowers after my gas mower died. I love this mower!! I am only 5 feet tall but when putting this mower together (extremely easy) I was able to adjust the handle to fit my height. It is very light-weight and easy to handle and maneuver. I have a fairly large yard. The battery will go for at least 40 minutes - I don't want to completely drain it and recharges in about an hour and 15 minutes. I have to recharge it one time to do my whole yard. If the charge light is still blinking after an hour, I have found that if I take the battery off the charger and really smack it back in the charger it shows fully charged. There is no dread in mowing the lawn now. It's a piece of cake!! November 12 update: Reading through some reviews I noticed some people had an issue with the battery being hot when taken off the mower for recharge. This created a lengthy time as the battery has to cool down before recharging. I have had that happen only one time on the first time I used the mower. My grass was high, hadn't been cut in a while, and the engine had to work harder. I noticed it going going to max power many time with that mowing and since the engine worked harder the battery became hot. Not extremely so though. I just put gloves on to remove the battery. I let it cool with a fan blowing on it for about half an hour before placing it in the charger. I have not had a hot battery since that first cut when the mower worked so hard. I still love this mower!

I'm one of those hate-yardwork millennials, admittedly, and I'm sick and tired of gas mowers. My old one, a side spitter, is held together by duct tape and the side-spitting piece has completely broken off the mower, so it shoots grass bits every which way. I could never get the oil level right, either, and the thing would backfire often and blow out white smoke (and I swear I read the dipstick). I'd be surprised if it started at all this year, as it is about time for the spark plugs to go out. And where in the world do you put the old oil that you can't throw in the regular trash? Yeah, that thing needs to go. My first impression: this feels like an upgrade in almost every way. The Wild Badger is lighter and a lot less noisy than the old gasser. Starting it is a breeze. No more cord-yank-pray maneuvers. I was concerned at first about power, as many complaints about the battery mowers revolve around power. We're good so far. The Wild Badger puts itself into a higher gear when it detects that the blade is struggling, and it stays in that high gear for a bit just to be sure it's through the troubled area. Assembly for me was made so much easier with a Youtube video. Look for one by "ALLCHECKOUT" - there's a dude with a Scottish accent who walked me through it. Huge help. As far as the battery is concerned, one charge was more than enough for me to mow my small front yard. I didn't tackle the back yard yet. Honestly, even if I need two charges, one for the front yard and one for the back, trading that for having to deal with oil, gasoline and spark plugs? Yeah I'm taking that deal all day, every day. The Badger provides two options for dealing with the cut grass. 1 - Let it collect in a very convenient container provided or 2 - use the attachment provided to automatically plop the mowed grass on the ground as you go. It's nice that both options are available. Hopefully the container they provided won't rip, but if it does, the attachment is a nice back-up plan. My chief concern is that my yard is pretty rugged. Just ask the old side spitter. (That thing's truly on its last legs, and I think I've had it 4 years at most.) The Wild Badger seems reasonably well built, but if the thing starts to fall apart I'll be updating my review. *UPDATE Updated from 5 stars to 3 stars. It now struggles hard with lush grass after the heavy rains we've gotten during this spring. Our front yard is small, but it no longer is able to complete it on one battery. I feel forced to buy a new Badger battery and they're half the price of the mower itself. Nonetheless, I still prefer it to a gas mower. Those will forever get zero stars from me.

This is a very powerful, very lightweight, little lawn mower! I mow most of my lawn using a riding mower, but still have to edge, trim, and also use a push mower to take care of those areas I can now do with the rider. This mower was perfect for that job! No gas to deal with. Battery is impressive, as I run this mower for at least 45 minutes and it still have juice. Again, it's lightweight, easy to push, and it doubles the power automatically when it encounters thick grass. The handle is easy to fold close for storage. I've had this about a year and no complaints.
