I was really shocked when I got this battery powered lawnmower. This is the cheapest 18 inch 40V, 750W max, that I can find with over four star reviews here on Amazon. When I opened the box, I was a little hesitant since the entire housing is plastic. I have to remember, with current advancements, this polyurethane-like plastic should do mediocre chores around smaller residential areas, as indicated in the description by the seller. With my quick glance, the only metal pieces appear to be the blades, part of the wheels’ assembly, the handlebars, and various nuts and bolts. I think another reviewer said this, but I was having a panic attack when I couldn’t find the parts to connect the handlebars to the mower. There are only 2 other boxes in the main box of the mower, and these are for the charger and battery. So while looking in a box a couple times, thinking I’m going crazy, I shook the mower and noticed the hardware was wedged in one of the wheels in a plastic baggy. You know you have done the same thing with other items; thinking that your package was defective because you thought it was missing some parts. 😊. I just do this more frequently than most. When I started this bad boy up, there’s a two second delay, so don’t panic like I did. Once it started up, this thing is so quiet. Again, giving me doubts about how well this thing will cut my grass. Mind you, this grass is brand new sod that was installed about a month ago, here in Southern California. It has never been mowed until today. Due to this, I have it set on height 4 of 5(5 is the tallest and 1 is…you get it). In regards to the height adjustment, the lever is easy to maneuver, and it shifts the entire mower in the horizontal direction you desire, eliminating messing around with other wheels(creating 3-wheel motions. some of you will get it). Just simply check out the pictures and you will see how well this mower cuts my grass. I believe it’s Bermuda grass. The grass blades are not very thick. Oh, I was tickled by the simple technology with physics in regards to the little 2” or so flap that opens on top of the mower’s bag, indicating that it is full. Just think about it and maybe you’ll be “wowed” like me. I’m not going to talk about the longevity of each charge since it appears almost everyone else did. But holy smokes that battery is huge. Maybe it’s because it’s my first time seeing a 40V battery. I’m really curious of the longevity of this unit as many reviews have noted, but so far I am surprised with the attention to detail from the manufacturer; especially when the motor speeds up when the grass becomes thicker due to increased resistance. It takes a lot to please and amuse me at times, but I felt like a little kid excited with the new toy. So I guess that means I might start getting bored in a few weeks…nope. Thank you to the other reviewers and I would just wanted to post some close-ups, the grass length differences, as well as the “ bag full” indicator(that made me smile). I also smiled when I noticed that most of my leaves were sucked up rather than shredded and left on my grass like my previous electric mower did. You won’t be disappointed😊 ... show more

Only used twice but worked well and was very light. Liked the additional engine boost when going through tall or thick grass and then back down to lower RPM when not really needed. Not sure about battery life yet. Will report back on that later.

I'm one of those hate-yardwork millennials, admittedly, and I'm sick and tired of gas mowers. My old one, a side spitter, is held together by duct tape and the side-spitting piece has completely broken off the mower, so it shoots grass bits every which way. I could never get the oil level right, either, and the thing would backfire often and blow out white smoke (and I swear I read the dipstick). I'd be surprised if it started at all this year, as it is about time for the spark plugs to go out. And where in the world do you put the old oil that you can't throw in the regular trash? Yeah, that thing needs to go. My first impression: this feels like an upgrade in almost every way. The Wild Badger is lighter and a lot less noisy than the old gasser. Starting it is a breeze. No more cord-yank-pray maneuvers. I was concerned at first about power, as many complaints about the battery mowers revolve around power. We're good so far. The Wild Badger puts itself into a higher gear when it detects that the blade is struggling, and it stays in that high gear for a bit just to be sure it's through the troubled area. Assembly for me was made so much easier with a Youtube video. Look for one by "ALLCHECKOUT" - there's a dude with a Scottish accent who walked me through it. Huge help. As far as the battery is concerned, one charge was more than enough for me to mow my small front yard. I didn't tackle the back yard yet. Honestly, even if I need two charges, one for the front yard and one for the back, trading that for having to deal with oil, gasoline and spark plugs? Yeah I'm taking that deal all day, every day. The Badger provides two options for dealing with the cut grass. 1 - Let it collect in a very convenient container provided or 2 - use the attachment provided to automatically plop the mowed grass on the ground as you go. It's nice that both options are available. Hopefully the container they provided won't rip, but if it does, the attachment is a nice back-up plan. My chief concern is that my yard is pretty rugged. Just ask the old side spitter. (That thing's truly on its last legs, and I think I've had it 4 years at most.) The Wild Badger seems reasonably well built, but if the thing starts to fall apart I'll be updating my review. ... show more

First time today using the lawnmower. I think the main thing people want to know in a review is this. Does it cut grass??? The answer is yes!!!!!! It is light weight and gets in places where I struggled before. I have a half acre property, and for the past 3 years I have purchased a new, huge gas powered, self-propelled mower. They all broke and became too hard to start, so I had to junk them. This mower cuts as well, performs just as well, so I'm hoping this is a keeper. As far as the reviews on the battery life.....all I can say is that any electric lawn item you have (saws, weed eaters, lawnmowers) you should expect to recharge. It is the nature of the product. I just take a lunch break, or trim bushes while my battery is charging. So far, I love it!!! ... show more
