I like that it was delivered a day early. It's very lightweight which I like; makes it easy for a disabled 64 year old woman to handle. It does a very good job cutting the grass. Battery charges quickly and lasts a good amount of time. Assembly was easy once hubby and I stopped trying to make it more complicated then it is. I've only cut the grass once but if it continues like this I'll be very happy. I am a 74-year-old woman who still likes to mow my grass abd take care of my yard. I did look at quite a few battery powered mowers after my gas mower died. I love this mower!! I am only 5 feet tall but when putting this mower together (extremely easy) I was able to adjust the handle to fit my height. It is very light-weight and easy to handle and maneuver. I have a fairly large yard. The battery will go for at least 40 minutes - I don't want to completely drain it and recharges in about an hour and 15 minutes. I have to recharge it one time to do my whole yard. If the charge light is still blinking after an hour, I have found that if I take the battery off the charger and really smack it back in the charger it shows fully charged. There is no dread in mowing the lawn now. It's a piece of cake!! November 12 update: Reading through some reviews I noticed some people had an issue with the battery being hot when taken off the mower for recharge. This created a lengthy time as the battery has to cool down before recharging. I have had that happen only one time on the first time I used the mower. My grass was high, hadn't been cut in a while, and the engine had to work harder. I noticed it going going to max power many time with that mowing and since the engine worked harder the battery became hot. Not extremely so though. I just put gloves on to remove the battery. I let it cool with a fan blowing on it for about half an hour before placing it in the charger. I have not had a hot battery since that first cut when the mower worked so hard. I still love this mower!

First off, I had very low expectations when I ordered this lawnmower because of some of the reviews I read about durability and battery strength. However, after using it, I think I am pretty impressed by the overall performance. Let’s talk an about the battery. Due to some of the negative reviews I read, I decided to get an extra battery. Both that and the mower arrived within 3 days on the same day, after they were shipped . I had some trouble charging the battery that came in the box with the mower because it couldn’t quite fit onto the charger. It kept giving off one red flashing light which had not been defined in the manual. The extra battery on the other hand fit immediately with just a little nudge and the green light started blinking almost immediately. I wasn’t able to really check how long it took to fully charge because I was already frustrated with the first battery. The mower was easy to assemble although the assembly instructions were no good. Most of it was already put together and did not require any special tools to add the rest. I was able to mow the entire frontage of the house with just one charge on the extra battery. The mower automatically increased its power when mowing thicker areas of the lawn. It’s lightweight and can easily be moved around the lawn without any hustle. The back of the house was quite bushy and the battery went out after a few rounds. I switched it out with the battery that came with the mower and I was able to finish up the rest of the yard. Although it appeared the mower was at full power for the most part, I think the second battery should have lasted a bit longer.

First time today using the lawnmower. I think the main thing people want to know in a review is this. Does it cut grass??? The answer is yes!!!!!! It is light weight and gets in places where I struggled before. I have a half acre property, and for the past 3 years I have purchased a new, huge gas powered, self-propelled mower. They all broke and became too hard to start, so I had to junk them. This mower cuts as well, performs just as well, so I'm hoping this is a keeper. As far as the reviews on the battery life.....all I can say is that any electric lawn item you have (saws, weed eaters, lawnmowers) you should expect to recharge. It is the nature of the product. I just take a lunch break, or trim bushes while my battery is charging. So far, I love it!!! As a follow up to the battery life. It took me 5 charges to do my front yard (takes almost 3 hours to charge the 40v 4.0Ah). I could deal with that, if the battery was available for purchase. However, they don't make it anymore. They told me I could purchase a 40v 2.5 or 2.0Ah, but that would be even half the battery life of the bigger 4.0. This is the 1st time I've ever bought an electric lawnmower, so I just didn't know. My recommendation to myself and others is to do extensive research on the battery availability first. I understand batteries aren't going to last long, but that can be ok if the company has the same battery in stock so the consumer can purchase an extra one. My advice to myself and others is just to make sure the lawnmower they are buying will continue to manufacture the longer life battery that comes with the mower so we can buy an extra one (which would solve a lot of the problem of low battery life). This way one can be used and the other one charging. I've lived and learned and will do my research on what matters - the availability of an extra battery. Sadly, there is no extra one made for the Badger. I really do love this lawnmower!!!

It's a worthless POS because doesn't matter how well it works if it can't survive from one season to the next without the battery becoming dead and unrechargeable then it's useless. I bought this new and mowed the lawn once and stored the battery as recommended. Now the battery won't charge so I got 1 VERY small yard mowing out of this battery and And starting in the new season with a dead battery. There are not detailed instructions of how to store and maintain the battery except to keep it clean and dry. Youtube videos and AI can't explain how to keep it in that apparent midway half charged state it has to be in to stay alive over the winter! What is it-- an endangered species of hibernating squirrel or a BATTERY, for EFF's sake??? You cannot buy replacement batteries by themselves except used with no warranty and no way to know how long they might last. You can buy the 20 Volt fairly easily. The mower needs a 40v. Not to be found. None of the usual shopping sites nor the Badger official site can you buy the 40 Volt replacement battery and even when you can find it used, it's half the cost of the original Mower PLUS battery. Right now it's $92 for the only one 40 Volt USED battery available on Amazon and the eBay Badger site has none. You can buy a whole new tool for $$$250 +dollars that comes with The same 40 Volt battery---a tool I don't need-- but I wonder how long that one lasts? Wouldn't it be hilarious to buy another tool only to have that battery die at the end of this season? That way, that you end up with two dead batteries and two tools that are virtually brand new. I'm beyond disgusted!

I am very pleasantly surprised with how much easier mowing became after switching from my older, bulkier and heavier 19” corded mower. My 18” Badger is more nimble and maneuverable, yet can still maintain a straight line cut. Even the grass catcher is lighter and better fit for disposing of grass clippings as needed. The 40V battery came well charged right out of the box, but you’ll want to top it off before using. It more than handles the front, side and back yards of my quarter+ acre lot without recharging, and it hasn’t yet felt at all warm even after giving my fescue it’s first (well overdue) shave of the season. Take care mowing in particularly tight spots. The cowling that covers the blade once flexed enough that the side of my blade scuffed against it lightly.

This isn't a bad mower at all. It handles tall patches of grass and has only stopped a few times. My main issue is that, on a single battery charge, I've barely been able to complete half of my lawn, which is about a quarter of an acre. I definitely recommend buying an extra battery if you get this mower, but therein lies the problem, as you think you're buying an affordably priced mower, but in reality you need that extra battery, which costs half the price of the mower itself. I also haven't been able to find an extra battery as last time I checked, it was out of stock on the Wild Badger website. So currently, when I mow, I have to split the task over 2 days to allow the battery to recharge, which takes several hours. One thing I've learned about battery-powered equipment is that when you buy a particular brand, you are now stuck in that ecosystem, because the batteries are not interchangeable among different brands. So even though the Wild Badger Mower is great, I regret buying it, because I don't use their other yard equipment. It's better to buy a brand for which you'll want to use their entire line of products. That way, you can share the battery for different equipment instead of having to buy spare batteries for different brands.
