I have not tried the trimner yet. The blower is very good. It comes with a lighter version of the battery. I wish it came with the heavuer one. BUT the piwwr gandlung is actually vwry efficient.

Style: 40V Trimmer + Blower
This is my first experience with lawn care so I don't have a lot to compare to but the weed eater did what I needed it to do. I have bushes that grow my front door and they have recently had a lot of grass and smaller bushes spouting up and it is beginning to look a mess. So I thought instead of hiring someone else I could do it all myself. Assembly was a little complicated but I watched a video that walked me through the steps. I wish that the unit came with 2 different batteries so that it could be used at the same time. Once I got the hang of it things progressed a little faster. It took a little bit to understand how the trimmer worked but eventually I was able to clear out the bottom of the areas and tidy it up. It took a little longer than I thought it should be that was mostly because I did not know what I was doing. The battery lasted about 2 hours before I needed to recharge, I think it was like 40 minutes of use. I would have like a longer battery life or a shorter charging time, especially since there was only one battery. Changing out the spools was easy and we had more than enough to finish up the job. By the second day I was a pro at the trimmer and things went much smoother. The trimmer is easy to handle and not as heavy as you might think. I really like the edger, it was easy to clean up the lines around that area and the sidewalk. I thought that the edging was easier than the trimming. I wish that the blower had more power. I thought initially it was because the battery was low but on the second day I started with the blower and it was about he same. It did okay blowing grassing trimming but the larger more heavy weeks and vine like weeds not so much. I think this was a great starter set for me and I am pleased overall with the performance. I am rating it an 8 because I would have liked a second battery and the power of the blower to be a little stronger.

One battery is not enough for my. This would be best suited for someone who lives in an urban subdivision with a tiny yard, and who can do all thier trimming and blowing in under 30 minutes. I feel like I'm in a race with the battery....can I get finished before it's out of power? Also, if I were edging the sidewalk, I would like my team mate to come behind me with a blower to clear the clippings. That is not possible with only one battery, I have to stop and recharge then use the blower. The tools perform as well as any electric trimmer/blower I have used. The Wacker uses .065 string which is not my favorite. I think (but won't promise) you could swap the trimmer head for one that uses .095 or larger strings. There is 2 extra ( for a total of 3) spools so you can swap on the go, and rewind them later. The line is auto feed, NOT bump feed. When you stop and restart the whacker it feeds a little more line out. I think the whacker was designed by a left handed person based on the way the guard faces. It's easier to hold the trigger handle in the left and the loop in the right. Otherwise the guard is in the way, or you have to put your back towards what you are trimming up to. Both tools are easy to handle, I wish the blower included a stubby nozzel for up-close work tike blow drying a car off. The battery is difficult to get out of the blower, it hangs in there and I have to use both hands to get it out, one to hold the release down and the other to pull the battery out. It will blow most dry debris off the sidewalk, pine cones, pine needles, leaves, pebbles and stuff. It has a TURBO button for a more powerful gust, but it sits too far forward on the handle for some one with small hands (or short thumbs). I Hope My Review And Pictures Were Helpful To You !!

I am a product design engineer and probably have a reasonable handle on elements of design and manufacturing, and sales to some extent, related to both cost and quality, which don't necessarily need to track together. Many people believe that higher quality means higher cost and visa versa, but that is not always the case. Relatively high quality can be achieved at a reasonable cost with good design and simplicity. Since manufactures understand the damage a single bad product can do to their bottom line and possible existence, the quality of most products has dramatically improved over the past few decades. We have also seen that as soon as one manufacture gets a good idea, it somehow ends up in every other similar product, so there is very little difference from manufacturer to manufacturer. The result is that many products today will last longer that you might want them to so you won't feel guilty when you replace something with the latest technology, even though it is still working. In reviewing a new product, it is difficult for a reviewer to validate performance specs and possible longevity. Even “ease of use” might depend upon the physical attributes of the user. The one thing I can do and am probably fairly good at is rating the product on a “bang for the buck” scale, which is not always the cheapest product, but the one with the highest quality and features for fewest dollars. To evaluate this Wild Badger string trimmer and leaf blower combo, I spent several hours in a couple of big boxes looking at the relative quality, features and cost of “name brand” units, some of which might be considered “the gold standard”. My conclusion is that for roughly equivalent quality and features, this combo is priced about 30% to 40% less, which places it quite high on my “bang for the buck” list. I don't think that these battery powered units will replace my 2 cycle commercial string trimmer or backpack blower, but for a quick job now and then, they are great. Actually the Wild Badger string trimmer works quite well and can probably give the gas unit a run for its money.
