The good: these are warm, breathable, soft, much as I had hoped. I am pleased with the fit, they are a little looser than you'd expect for athletic leggings. The not-so-good: Do not buy these expecting to use them like athletic leggings. They are thin enough to see through even though these fit me relatively loosely. I had hoped to wear them as leggings based on information provided by the sellers, so a slight disappointment here. Also, the pair I received looked like it had been returned- they were not folded nicely in the box and had different colors of lint on them. My favorite light base layer! Merino wool is warm without the bulk, moisture wicking, and quick drying- and these tights are all of these things. They are also very comfortable and soft, with a good fit. They are form fitting but not tight- which is how I prefer them to fit. What they are not though, in my opinion, is something that can be worn as pants. They are a little too sheer for that. But the intended purpose is to use as a base layer under your pants/skirt or to wear to bed, and for that they are fantastic! ... show more

I bought this, along with a base layer shirt for a winter snowboarding trip. I loved how thin and light the material was! It's very soft, and feels great under your clothes. It isn't itchy at all. At the end of the day they are also very stretched out. For me personally, I feel like I spent a lot of money on something that worked just as well as my other base layers. They kept me warm, and I like having them now because they are so thin I can even wear them with jeans and stay warm and comfortable. But I don't plan on buying anymore. ... show more

    • This is a baselayer, not a legging.

These are not leggings to wear under dresses, long sweaters, etc. as there is a seam down the inside and outside of the legs. And it’s not a flatlock seam like you would want and expect. If you’re looking for a baselayer to wear under your pants on really cold days, they’re a great choice. If you’re looking for leggings for any other purpose, these aren’t your best bet. If you know anything about the benefits of merino wool, and you smartly start buying and trying merino products, you'll come to find Icebreaker makes the best on earth. Their wool is of the highest quality, the sewing is also excellent quality. The fit is great and the products hold up well to regular use and I've tried several other brands including the lower price products from China. These leggings I bought for one of my daughters who wears them all winter as a base layer under her jeans. You can machine wash but hand wash is better. You can machine dry but flat drying is better. They will dry over night, do no retain odor and the dye does not run. If cared for properly, these will last for many years. Highly recommend. ... show more
