This machine is quiet. The quietest I've had. It works pretty well for the rating also. The vertical air discharge acts like a ceiling fan and makes for good room air circulation. The controls are bright, and then dim to half bright after a period of inactivity. According to the literature, this machine only consumes around 360 watts. I run mine on low fan so maybe even less for me. The alarm for full bucket sounds initially and then leaves you alone. Small detail but won't wake you up like others I've had with incessant beeping. The main cons for me- 1. The fan has no auto function, you pick hi or lo 2. The fan never shuts off, even when desired humidity is reached 3. The compressor in mine really only shuts off about 5% below the set humidity level, so it runs more continuously than others I've had. 4. The collection tank is small. I measured its useful capacity (to the triggered shut-off point) at approximately 0.9 gallons. I only run mine at night for around 7-8hrs set to 55% and it mostly fills up by morning. 5. Small detail, maybe just mine has it but my tank has a spot for a handle, but no handle. It is missing entirely. Not a big deal. Conclusion- I hope it lasts over a year at least. If they made one of these as a deliberately long-lasting version with a 5yr warranty for 3x the price, I'd buy 2 today! ... show more

Got the 50 pint model. If you want tla dehimidifier that actauly removes water this is the one to buy. Sae one review that said it didnt have a handle but i guess they updated it anf it does now. Eats moisture for breakfast as i was impress with the performance so i tested it out and closed it in the bathroom while taking a shower and removed all of the steam. It can be a bit noisy but is expected out of a machine that actually fies the job. Absolutely worth buying if you live on the coast or other moist area. ... show more

well... i've gone thru 4 dehumidifiers in 11 years... the first one was about 6 years... the second 3 years and these last two about one year each... their made in china and not worth a damn... this one was nice and quiet and did it's job for about 9 months... and i made sure i did not work it hard... i made sure the humidity level setting on it was high enough it wasn't coming on all the time... i was hoping that would extend its life expectancy... i was wrong... was getting error code E3 and search everything on how to reset it... nothing worked... finally it would just run constantly and collect no water... since i knew how these were not very dependable... i got the extended warranty for the last two ad they paid the money back immediately thru a gift card in my account here... i bought another DH last week with another protection plan... this one a little bit more expensive and designed for a crawl space... but also works in a basement... it's smaller and looks more industrial strength... so i will see how long this one lasts, lol ... show more

    • Good humidifier - very noisy pump

Works great as a humidifier, removes air humidity as advertised. Can be used with the removeable tank to empty by hand, which holds about eight hours of capacity. The tank ia a bit heavy when full with about 2 gallons. It can be run with the automatic pump that runs when the tank gets full, pumping out about a pint at a time (does not empty the tank). So the pump runs for a couple of minutes every 40 minutes or so. The pump itself is quite noisy (vibrating type) when running. Quickly found out to not use the pump at night - woke everyone up each time it ran. Even though the description said it could be set up to 'continuous drain' it cannot. It will not simply drain out the drain hose (as other units I've had do), only with the noisy pump ... show more

Edit 1 To clarify comments below: They respond to emails within several hours but I don’t find the mode of communication efficient for setting up to work the way I anticipated. It auto shuts off but not on if set to basement or bedroom Original post The good news is it pulled a lot of humidity out of the air. However, worst customer service ever.!! The telephone number they list both on the warranty and in the instruction manual is only for major appliances. It is not for home appliances or what they call Comfort appliances. Customer Service will answer the phone and then tell you to provide an email address and they will contact you by email. My unit is working. I can’t get the settings right because the book is inconsistent with what some of the descriptions were on the website as well as Comments made by other customers. information in the instruction manual is nonexistent. I also think it’s very loud. There is no one to ask anything because they want to check my set up and I know my set up is correct. I have not decided if I am going to keep this or not , I replied to their email that I need help understanding the settings not set up. Let’s see if anyone calls me or if I can get it to work the way it supposed to. Three stars because it does reduce humidity. However, I will also say it did raise the temperature in the room by 2° so instead of reducing my AC usage, my AC keeps going on even more frequently. I’m in the south . it would be lovely if someone from the manufacture would call me and help me adjust the settings to way I was led to believe it would work for exam, the instruction manual says it will reflect the temperature it doesn’t… the instruction manual says something about using Wi-Fi settings but I cannot find the Bluetooth option on the unit. The instruction manual says you can adjust the humidity level and that there were three modes, continuous bedroom and basement. one person I spoke to on the phone before they said, they don’t provide tech-support on the phone, said humidity settings are only when it’s on continuous that basement and bedroom a preset and cannot be changed. There is an auto start feature. Does that mean that when the unit shuts off because it achieve the desired humidity level and it raises, it will auto start? no one can answer that and that’s not happening in this unit so I do not know if this unit is not working properly or whether the instruction manual is incorrect ... show more
