  • Indoor smoker that wont break the bank but will make great smoked food.
Color: Black (No Party Dipper) Size: 6 Quarts
So I haven't written a review in a while, but this product was something I was on the fence about and I was so pleased with it I figured it was worth a review. A couple thoughts: -Is this as good as a 500$ indoor smoker? I honestly have no idea, i wouldn't spend 500$ on an indoor or outdoor smoker which is why i got this one. But is this an awesome 120$ smoker? absolutely yes -Use this under or over your stove hood and turn on the hood fan! otherwise you will low key smoke your whole house, if you really like hickory smell, sure that's great, otherwise the seals on this work fairly well, but smoke does escape but if you put this around a hood fan you'll be fine. -Minor complaint, the temp and timing functions are very basic, with a probe you cook to a temp, without a probe you cook to a time, its a bit confusing and the panel isn't intuitive, but once you kinda figure it out, you'll be ok. -It smokes really well! We've done salmon, cheese, poultry, and pork, all of its smokes great. we get the pellet sampler packs and have had great success -Its not super easy to clean since the heater element is just in the bottom. so make sure you put some foil in the bottom to catch drippings. -Again the seal on the lid isn't perfect, this isn't a fancy smoker that has some sort of air circulation system, the smoke will escape so see point 2 again. Overall really happy with this purchase. Was on the fence about it, but if you are also on the fence this is a really budget friendly way to get into smoking without going outside. ... show more

  • Really for indoor use, without smoking up your home!
Color: Black (No Party Dipper) Size: 6 Quarts
Awesome! I bought a second one for smoking mammal meat for the hubby! It smokes just a bit at the beginning and then no smoke escaping. I cannot say enough good things about this smoker! It was a bit hard to understand how to start it at first, but duh, I should have turned the page...lol. I love that you don't have to change the pot and cook it in something else to finish. It will also keep it warm and let the juices settle in the meat. The size is great for a 6 pound chicken or a roast. I find it easy to clean and storing does not take up much room either. The seal on the lid shows a great quality in building it. I think it is a must have and I am looking forward to using it many times. ... show more

  • Instructions suggest smoking should be done outdoors. Smoking foods has limitations.
Color: Black (No Party Dipper) Size: 6 Quarts
I do a lot of smoking of various meat on 2 outdoor smokers that we have outdoors. In the fall, it's a mad rush to smoke meats to be frozen for meals in the winter. This smoker was suggested by a friend of mine for indoor smoking. I don't need a slow cooker, but bought this product to be used for indoor smoking for smaller pieces of protein such as steaks and fish. Generally, the first thing I do when receiving a new appliance is to read the instruction manual. Although most appliance are easy to use without instructions, the instructions sometimes give clues to use of the appliance. In the case of this smoker, although advertised as an indoor smoker, the instructions suggest using it outdoors for smoking. This would suggest that smoke does escape into the house that can discolor ceilings and walls over time, and could be a health hazard for anyone that has parrots as I do. Although this unit looks to have a good build quality, good indoor size, and looks nice on the counter, I question the amount of smoke flavor that it can provide for larger proteins such as a whole chicken or a roast. It has a small container at the bottom of the smoker for wood chips that surround a heating coil that heats the chips to provide smoke. For my outdoor smokers, I can add wood chips to produce more smoke for long cooks. It would be very difficult to add wood chips to this unit since the container for the chips is under the food. I don't doubt that the heat level of this smoker is sufficient to cook and smoke anything cooked in it and that cook times are comparable to other smokers although the size of foods cooked may be limited. As for cleaning, smoke residue is not very difficult to clean, but the manual offers suggestions to make cleaning easier. Since I don't need a slow cooker, quantity an size of food for smoking is limited, and this cooker is not suggested for indoor use in the manual, I decided to return it. The overall reviews for this smoker/slow cooker are good, so this may work for your needs, but you may have to find a way to deal with released smoke and it may not provide the level of smoking you desire. I hope this review was helpful for you. ... show more

  • Not an all-in-one solution, but really easy and effective
Color: Black (No Party Dipper) Size: 6 Quarts
So basically this is a crock pot with the option to stack wood chips around the heating element. In terms of smoke production, this is really quite effective. In terms of cooking the food, it is fast and effective BUT you are limited to an extremely moist cooking environment. The food essentially steams. For something like ribs, you can cut them into sections and cook them all the way like that. You won’t have bark, but they’ll be delicious. But if you’re trying to recreate outdoor smoking, you need to be a little more creative. Here’s what I recommend - for pulled pork, take a half pork butt and cook it for two hours on the “cold smoke” setting. Then move it to the oven, uncovered, and bring up to 160F internal. At that point move it back to the Weston and use the combination setting (cold smoke followed by hot) until it hits your desired temp (I like 205). Before pulling, put it back in the oven for 15-20 minutes to reestablish the bark. Is that a lot of work? Yes, but it gets a pretty good result in an apartment. And it’s frankly not much more work than smoking outdoors and tending a fire. ... show more

  • Delicious
Color: Black (No Party Dipper) Size: 6 Quarts
This is amazing. I use it in an apartment without issues. Do recommend watching some videos on how to foil the inside to keep it clean before first use. Have not tried the crock pot functionality.
