Battery is impressive. It lasts the whole driveway! Has unexpected power and it makes the job go by much faster and much easier than shoveling. This would make a great gift for aging people who still get out there and want to shovel. The only thing I can say that could be a negative is that the snow shoots out straight - you cannot control the direction of the snow exiting from the unit. This cordless snow shovel has been great, we just had two major snow storms and I put it into play and it moved more snow than I thought it could move, I have a double driveway and was able to clear it down to the concrete 15” deep, I had to do it in halves and than I did the walkway to the front door and the steps, the battery had a very long time span on it fully charged, I had to recharge it once, but it gave me good results, I’m thinking about getting a second battery, the snow blower threw the snow 10 to 15 feet away, this snow shovel saved the day, and my back. ... show more

This works very well for the money. I got this because I have an injury and can't shovel snow anymore and so far so good. It's saved me from pain and furthering my injury. I've used it a few times on light fluffy and dry snow. It works really well to clear away the end of the drive way after the plow comes through. The battery charges quick and attaches easily. For deep snow you can use it in a more layered way by taking layers off until you get down to that six inch depth and then you can go straight on the pavement. I've hit a few hard chunks that were hidden and it pushes them away easily too. My cons are that the grip handle is loose and slides around while you're using it. There's also no way to adjust the direction that the snow is thrown so you have to watch the wind otherwise you get a constant face full of snow. ... show more

This cordless snow shovel works very well. It’s sufficiently light-weight, and generally does not stall out. It clears a nice path. I used it on my walkway entrance with pavers, including steps. Works great. As others have noted, there’s no wsy to direct the snow, which is understandable, but a nice way to deal with this, if possible, is to move the snow shovel at an angle, so that the snow doesn’t come back at you. Also, it seems like good battery life for use with the snow shovel. I also bought the westinghouse cordless (22’) snow blower, so I didn’t think I’d use this snow shovel much. YAY. Finally something we can manage. We just received it, and assembly took 5 minutes with no effort. So easy to assemble. It is lightweight, a huge plus for seniors. Or anyone! We cannot find anyone to plow our driveway, so we hope all snowfalls will be 6" or less! The biggest concern is making a path to our vehicles, and this should do it!! Snow is coming next week.The delivery was very fast and well packaged . 🥶. We are looking forward to trying our new battery operated Westinghouse snow shovel, but not looking forward to the snow!!(We ordered an extra Westinghouse battery in case we have to keep going outside as more snow accumulates. This way, we can be assured of continued power for our machine in case battery #1 slows down. Consider doing this, too! )The snow thrower appears to be well designed,well built, and easy to manage. UPDATE: WE don't like it! We live in NH...just had 2" of snow. I used it!! The snow thrower does not move unless you PUSH IT, so if the snow is less than fluffy dry snow, be prepared to PUSH! The snow built up at the front of the machine, and I pushed harder!! There was no wind, but snow was coming back at me because of the amount of snow clogging the front of the machine's blades. I could only do a small part of our driveway using this item, because snow not only ended upon me, but it also went to the sides, covering what had been cleared already ...again due to the snow build up in front of the blades. The blade mechanism would stop moving, and cause any snow to shoot up and over the top of the "blue body" of the snowthrower onto me, and never did throw snow 20'. People wrote this works well in wet snow. Our snow was not what we'd consider to be heavy wet snow, but evidently it was wet enough for this item not to work in only 2" of our snow. We shoveled the long driveway using regular snow shovels. UGH! We will give this item one more try, and if it does not perform any better, it goes back. We were disappointed in it's performance. The battery held up well. And PS...the snow thrower ended up being a bit bulkier when using it, but it was not unmanagable. UPDATE#2. We tried this again two nights ago when we received 2" of new snow. I ended up using my regular snow shovel after 5 minutes of trying to get the Westinghouse shovel to do the job. Again, we thought we had received a fairly light snowfall. However, as I used this machine, the snow continued to pile up at the front of the blue shovel and not shoot 20' ahead of me. It probably not as light and fluffy as we had assumed, and I had to push the unit forward with difficulty. I continually was being covered with the snow bits blowing backward toward me(no wind). Snow was not shooting forward due to snow building up at the front of the blue Westinghouse shoveling unit. At 17° outside, I did not enjoy that being pelted with cold snow, so I switched to using our regular snow shovel and completed the job with less effort. We have decided this is not the unit we want to use for small jobs like clearing a path to and around our 2 vehicles which are not in a garage. People mentioned they want to use this unit to clean off their steps. This machine would be too heavy and awkward to use on our steps. So sorry for our negativity, but it's our honest long updated review. ... show more

Nice little snow thrower. Easy to assemble and use. I cleaned my driveway in about 20 minutes. It worked well. It looks high-quality, and I was surprised the battery lasted the entire driveway.

We purchased this battery powered snow shovel ahead of a big winter storm coming our way. Putting it together was relatively easy, though we did run into some issues with excessive cord length in the handle which we couldn't quite get into the handle. Unscrewing the base of the handle from the shovel itself allowed us to adjust the cord length so that it would properly fit in the handle so just take note that if you're running into this issue, that's a good fix for it. The handle was easy to unscrew from the shovel and to screw back on when the cord was adjusted properly. After fully charging the battery and bringing it out to use when the storm hit, it worked well tackling the fluffy snow we had but we have a fairly long driveway, so the battery didn't last very long unfortunately. We were making it work relatively hard being that we had 6 inches or so of snow. We had to recharge it, and bring it out again later to finish the rest of the driveway. When we brought it back out the next day, we had gotten a few more inches of heavier snow, and the shovel was able to work through that as well (with the battery needing to be charged again halfway through). It's easy to use, and I'd say it's perfect for a short driveway, definitely great for walkways, but larger driveways will need an extra charge to finish.
