  • Excellent Power and Build Quality!
Style: 3800 Max PSI
I recently purchased the Westinghouse WPX3800, and so far, I’m very impressed! The pressure is strong and consistent, making it perfect for deep cleaning driveways, sidewalks, and home exteriors. It started up easily right out of the box, and the build quality feels solid and durable—definitely not a flimsy machine. The different nozzle options make it versatile for various cleaning tasks, and the hose length gives plenty of reach. Overall, this pressure washer has exceeded my expectations. If you’re looking for power, reliability, and quality, this is a great choice. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Won't start - Good information here....... READ ME
Style: 3800 Max PSI
After lots of researching for pressure washers, I selected the Westinghouse WPX3800 Pressure Washer. It had 15,000 review, almost all of them 5 stars. 4 places offered it, Tractor Supply, Home Depot, Lowe's, and Amazon. Tractor Supply was $30 cheaper, and only 3 miles from my house. It was early in November, but I decided to wait until after Thanksgiving to see if there would be a Black Friday sale. A few days later, I decided to just go ahead and buy it anyway. By that time, HD, Lowes, and TSC had all dropped it, and Amazon was the only one still selling it. Hmm, interesting..... Ordered it, and it arrived on a Sunday morning at 6:30 am, 1 day early (kudos to Amazon for that). Assembly was easy, and I added an hour meter. It was difficult to start the first time, but seemed to run okay for 30 minutes. Had to shut it down to reposition hoses, and the thing hasn't started since. I'm pretty good with this kind of stuff, but no luck on this. Tried starter fluid. Pulled the plug. It was wet, so it was getting fuel, and had a spark, but wasn't a real strong spark. Replaced the spark plug, still no luck. I decided that I shouldn't have to screw with a brand-new pressure washer that was $729, so I initiated a return from Amazon. Of course, Amazon says that you can't return it. If it has fuel in it, it is a hazardous parcel. I think their no-return policy is to keep people from buying it, using it, then returning it. The first email I got from Amazon said that I could return it like it was a duplicate that had been sent by mistake, and that I would NOT be refunded anything. I called back and talked to a couple people, but eventually got it straightened out. I was refunded my $729 plus tax, and told I could keep it. Kudos to Amazon for standing behind a product that they sell. I'm sure they charged the manufacturer. So, I got a broken pressure washer out of the deal. It's a pretty simple engine, so I started digging into it. There's only a couple things that couple be wrong. Had to pull the engine off the cart to remove the cover and check the magneto clearance, but it was okay. Since the spark was kind of weak, I ordered a new coil for $20 plus shipping and tax ($27 total). It hasn't come in yet, and I'm not too optimistic that it will fix the problem. I saw where someone else had a similar problem, and Westinghouse sent them a new carb which solved the problem. I checked everywhere trying to find who makes the engine, to find a replacement carb, but no luck. I called Westinghouse to order a new carb, but they didn't have any in stock. I did find out the engine was made by Ducar, a company in.... wait for it... CHINA. A quick check around the internet, and this MIGHT be a Ducar DH270-X engine. Jack's Small Engines had a carb that looked to fit a Kohler which might be the same engine, but at over $100, I wasn't going to try it. These little carbs are usually under $30, which I'd pay if it would work. It's not worth screwing around with this engine though. It looks like spare parts, like motor mounts or even something simple like air filters, and of course the aforementioned carb down the line, just aren't available, or even LISTED by anyone. So, since Amazon refunded me my money, I can just go out and buy a new engine. I researched the pump, and it appears to be a triplex 3 piston axial cam aluminum head pump, part #90038, rated at 3800 psi/3.5 gpm. It specifically calls out the Honda GX270 engine. I had this engine on a previous pressure washer that I shared with a neighbor for over 20 years. It still started up easily, and parts were easy to find. My neighbor gave me $350 for my half of the old pressure washer (Yeah, I know☺), so I'll get the new Honda engine, bolt it to this pump. Might have to drill new mounting holes, but that's not a big deal. The PW from Northern Tool with the Honda GX270 and a comparable pump is $1000. I'll be in for $300. So, in a nutshell, STAY AWAY from this PW. You might luck out and get one that runs, but there are no parts available for future servicing. EDIT: Amazon refunded my money, and let me keep it. It' very mechanically minded (a car guy actually). I tried to find a replacement carb for this. Nope. The carb is a Huayi P23, which is impossible to find. I bought another carb that looked similar, but the arm for the throttle is installed backwards on this carb compared to every other carb available out there. I'll be giving this engine away, or throwing it away. Maybe someone can reuse the pump. ... show more

  • Best Power Washer!!
Style: 3800 Max PSI
I found myself in need of a powerful pressure washer to tackle the many demanding tasks around my property! Previously, I relied on an electric pressure washer, which proved to be time-consuming and less efficient for my cleaning needs. After trying several models, including a Troy-Bilt, I can confidently say that this pressure washer is hands down the best I've ever used. My experience with the Troy-Bilt was fraught with issues, leading to quite a bit of frustration. That’s why I decided to invest in a higher-end model, and I couldn't be happier with that choice! I utilize this machine to clean my expansive concrete patio, the area around my pool, and even my vehicles. The power it delivers is astonishing, making each cleaning session a breeze. If you find yourself hesitating about investing in this higher-end model, let me reassure you—don’t think twice! It’s truly an investment that pays off, and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. This pressure washer is worth every penny! ... show more

  • Nice powerful pressure washer
Style: 3800 Max PSI
When I received the pressure washer there was no "how to put it together" info, nor machine manual, and it was missing the oil dipstick for the pressure pump. It didn't take a rocket scientist figure out how everything goes together, and I called Amazon to tell them I needed the missing parts. Not exactly the most helpful conversation (it would've been better if he spoke a language I could understand). I ended up contacting Westinghouse and they had apparently been alerted to my problem by Amazon (he did a better job than I thought). Told me they no longer include a manual and that they'd send me the dip stick. When the dip stick arrived it was the wrong thread and after calling them back convinced them they sent me the wrong part. When the correct part arrived I put oil in the washer and tried to start it. It wouldn't start. Not hard to start...wouldn't start. We're talking starting fluid in the carburetor and spark plug to finally get it started. So why am I not rating this a (1) instead of a (4)? Because once I got over the initial start difficulties, it works as advertised. I'm used to various pressure washers from home units to huge industrial heated behemoths, and this unit puts out the advertised pressure and rated volume. Cleans really well. ... show more

  • Problems
Style: 3800 Max PSI
Unit was received on time, it was a very easy to put together, except for the missing parts. It has two oil fill ports with a screw ont top, one was missing . I used one from another unit I had, but sorry to say the oil hole had never been threaded so I made a cap out of a metal cap I had works fine. Second the unloaded had no knob on it so just missing the knob . I cannot believe the motor was tested. After oil cap was secure I hooked it up filled gas and oil cut on the water supply bled the air out of water line. I was not feeling good about the unit starting. It started on the third pull, speed , choke, worked , motor runs good. The pump works good . So if you can fix things it may work ok for you. ... show more

  • Pump failure right off the bat. - possibly not commercial.
Style: 3800 Max PSI
Right out of the box my unit came with a bent gas tank. I thought what ever, I called support and they said they would send me a new one when one gets in. still hasn't arrived. I did appreciate that though as who cares about a dent gas cap. I got this to wash cars, houses and rv's. this was suppose to be a commercial strong unit. 2-3 weeks in my pump goes bad. They agree to send me a new pump (Westing house) and I madly appreciate it. Only thing is its been a long time. We need this for work - oh - and if you think you can order a new pump for this when one goes bad think again because these pumps are no where to be found! ... show more

  • This is the key that I had to tap in with a hammer before it binded up.
Style: 3800 Max PSI
The item arrived on time, no damage to packaging. Took it out of the box and it fired right up. Didn’t work at all, no pressure whatsoever. I called customer support and they told me to take it apart as it may not have the keyway in the motor installed. So I went to my toolbox to get all the tools needed, just a few sockets and a wrench. Took the housing off the motor sleeve and lord and behold, it had NO keyway. The representative was baffled, but the keyway was indeed in the box. Just floating around, not in a bag or anything. The rep told me I could just slot that bad boy in and put it all back together. Well well well, I tried to just do that, except the key didn’t fit, she told me no problem just give it a few taps with a hammer and it should be just fine. Few taps later and not only did it still not fit, it not got the shaft sleeve stuck onto the housing and I couldn’t do anything with it as the keyway had dislodged and got stuck as well. So now it was a dead in the water piece of junk I couldn’t use as a yard ornament. But have no fear I was able to return it! But wait again! Since I had filled it with the required oil and gas I had to use a third party shipper who had no problem picking it up. A week goes by and I call customer service again asking about my return, well they can’t find the shipping information that they provided me so they had to find it and wait. Hey a day later they found it and I now have to wait till they get the product and inspect it. That was about a month ago. Still no refund, not even sure they have the dang thing. This was by far one of the worst purchases Iv ever made, and I make a ton of purchases as a general contractor. I would not recommend Westinghouse products to anyone. ... show more
