Like I said it has all the hardware needed to replace an existing one, but I feel like it really should have some sort of gasket around where the base touches the house, especially if exposed to direct rain (to be fair, the previous ones these replaced lacked a gasket of any kind too). There is nothing stopping water from running right down behind these. There is a hole in the bottom so that at least it wouldn't fill with water. This really is a good looking light, and the install was surprisingly easy. The light output is good, and provides a charming warmth to my front porch.
