Like I said it has all the hardware needed to replace an existing one, but I feel like it really should have some sort of gasket around where the base touches the house, especially if exposed to direct rain (to be fair, the previous ones these replaced lacked a gasket of any kind too). There is nothing stopping water from running right down behind these. There is a hole in the bottom so that at least it wouldn't fill with water. Love this fixture. It replaced my 10 year old white plain light fixture. Old one would not keep the top on, therefore about 4 inches of gross dead moths and beetles had accumulated in it. Fire hazard as well. I am a 60’s gal who has had to learn to fix a lot of things on my own over the past few years. This was my first electrical project, and I was nervous at first. However, it turned out to be such an easy task. I turned my entire main breaker off. Overly cautious, I suppose.. but better safe than sorry. Light performs beautifully.
