What a great find. My husband says it is slow to heat, but great comfort and warmth for the number of hours wanted. I do not want a hot blanket on. So the duel is just rignt to keep both of us comfortable. The feeling of it is so soft and helps us rest. A good buy, excellent warming blanket, beautiful addition to our bed. *** Update - the seller was very quick to reply and sent me a replacement blanket. I'm very impressed with the customer service, but I'll be very hesitant to wash my new blanket*** This blanket WAS great, so soft and cozy, would heat up quickly and I appreciate the timer. However, after the first wash it has basically stopped working. If you ever want to wash your blanket, DON'T. If this would have functioned after washing I'd give it 5 stars but as heating is the main function of the blanket I had to significantly reduce. This is a very expensive blanket for no longer heating. The blanket claims to be machine washable AND you can put it in the dryer. After following all the directions for washing and air drying to be on the cautious side, this blanket has lost almost all of it heating capabilities. It now takes about an hour to heat up to an almost imperceptible level of heat. I'm considering taking the wiring out so it can be used as just a blanket without feeling the wires. Pros: -The sherpa lining is soft and gives it a super cozy feeling. -Before washing the blanket functioned extremely well, wide range of heat settings, heated quickly ( I would turn it on while brushing my teeth and it would be ready for bed), timer function Con: -Almost completely stopped working after 1 wash -You can definitely feel the wires, but I don't think you can get a heated blanket without the wires so probably on par with other heated blankets

I was so excited to get this as we have been hit with super cold weather, but this turned out to be a crushing disappointment and totally worthless junk. I put both sides of the blanket on the highest heat setting, everything appeared to turn on and function, but after an hour when I checked it again, I was surprised to find that this blanket generates virtually no heat at all. Not at any setting right up to the highest setting and not even after an hour of being on. I carefully checked all of the connections, settings, and read the instructions again to make sure I was doing everything right and had tried everything possible to get it to work all to no avail. If I firmly pressed against an area with wires, I could barely detect a very slight amount of heat. If this is the best it can do at the highest setting, then why advertise it has all of these other lower settings? All of those lower settings are useless because they produce no detectable heat at all. Wow, talk about scammy false advertising! I should have known it would just be another cheap piece of Chinese junk. It used to be this brand represented the best America could make, not so anymore. What this company sells now are garbage products made to sound great, but that never perform as described and fail completely shortly after purchase. This blanket couldn't even arrive in working condition, that's how bad these are. I shudder to think about what happens after a little use, possibly catches the bed on fire with me in it. I say this because the only part of this that generated any heat were the parts that shouldn't get warm - the cords and the controllers - they started to get so hot that I had to immediately unplug the blanket out of concern the plastic on them was melting and it was a huge fire hazard. It also really stinks, this blanket smells horrific! If you buy this, you probably shouldn't go to sleep with this turned on or leave it unattended as the cords and controllers get so hot that the plastic around them became soft and started to melt. Make sure you have really good fire insurance if you decide to buy this! I spent hours researching this trying to find some way to get this to work and actually function as described here so the blanket (not the cords/controller) would actually produce detectable levels of heat, but nothing worked. I think this is just how they're designed and made. Maybe, there's some safety regulation which prevents electric blankets from actually producing enough heat to warm the user (or just simply a detectable level of heat). I don't know. All I know is that this was a huge waste of money, it doesn't function as described here, it barely produces enough heat to detect with a firm press on an area of the blanket where the wires are, it has a ghastly awful bad smell/odor, and it's a huge fire hazard. Another couple of points worth mentioning, a large section of the blanket running around the outside of the blanket does not have any wires and so never produce any heat. Keep this in mind when determining what size to get and get the next larger size up. Otherwise, if you're lucky enough to get one of these that actually works well enough to produce detectable levels of heat, you will have to stick to the center of the blanket where the wires/heat are, you won't be able to use the edges of the blanket and the sides of your bed will remain freezing cold. A large margin around the entire outer perimeter has no wires and so will never heat up. The controllers are very large and bulky, the points where they connect with the blanket are extremely inconvenient and flimsy, the cords and controllers are heavy and are forever in the way, the cords are very short, the controllers have bright orange lights that will flood your bedroom with orange light for as long as the blanket is turned on, and even though it has the lighted display, the buttons are not illuminated and are impossible to read at night without turning on a bright light, the lighted display is very hard to read with or without a bright light to illuminate them, and it's super easy to confuse the timer and the temperature buttons. The cords are like burning hot octopus arms that get wrapped around your arms/body as you try to sleep, they're always in the way. I could forgive all of the above if the blanket would just simply heat up as described here while the cords and the controllers remain cool and don't start melting. Nope, Westinghouse in China where these are made couldn't even manage to deliver a product that could do even that much. Not safe! Does not produce detectable amounts of heat, large portions of the blanket have no wires/heating, bright orange lights interrupt sleep and are on all the time it's turned on, cords are too short, and it's poorly designed with no quality control (they just churn them out and ship them off to us dummies here in the US who are dumb enough to think anything from Westinghouse was actually made in the US (it's all made in China now and they just lease the Westinghouse brand name to put on these products). This is garbage and worthless junk. Now I have to pay the $9 to have UPS pick this up and return it or pay to throw it away. Very little about this item's description is true, it does almost none of the things the description promises it will do. I will NEVER buy another product carrying the Westinghouse name again or buy anything that closely resembles or is a clone of a Westinghouse product again! Westinghouse = cheap junk made in China that doesn't do what it's supposed to do, is backed up by numerous false promises and misleading/deceptive advertising and product descriptions, and is in fact extremely unsafe, poorly designed and even more poorly made with zero quality control or safety checks. This is the worst product I have had the misfortune of buying in years. Don't waste your time with this worthless junk, get something that will actually generate some heat!

We’re trying to not get our heater going again and again. We use these throws to avoid pumping our furnace too much. They’re working beautifully. Westinghouse is easy to use. There are six settings. I’m comfortable with just a two or three setting. While we’re not suppose to sit on these throws, occasionally, our dog sneaks into our lap to get warm.
