Because of pets, I've ended up buying several of these blankets. I love them, especially the pre-heat (previously called boost) function which makes your blanket extra warm for about 20 minutes. If you turn the pre-heat on a few minutes before getting into bed, your bed will already be nice and warm for you. No waiting for the blanket to warm up.

I am very satisfied with my new Beautyrest throw blanket. The electric coils are in the middle with about 12 inches of the periphery without heating coils. It heats up very quickly in about 2 minutes. Unlike the larger Beautyrest electric blankets, this model has only an on and off and three heat settings low medium and high and an automatic 2 hour shut off. These settings are sufficient for me. The material is medium weight and very soft and plush. This is unlike other electric blankets that use a sherpa material. I cannot speak of the durability and washing of the blanket since I have not had it very long. It will only be used on occasion when the night time temperature reaches 15° F as it did recently in New York City. If any problems develop, I will update my ratings. I hope my comments have helped you in making a buying decision. Update... I have now owned my throw for over 1 year and have been very satisfied. So, I reordered a throw and gave it to my friend as a gift. He said that he absolutely loves everything about this blanket... So again another five-star rating.

ETA: This blanket lasted only 6 months. The blanket quit working on my side of the bed last night. Don’t waste your money. I bought this blanket to replace one purchased from Walmart that lasted about 7 years. It was a great blanket (Sunbeam brand, I believe), until one of the plugs in the blanket stopped working. The reasons that I chose to buy this one on Amazon were price and it’s slightly larger than the one we had before. My husband kept pulling the old one over to his side, leaving me cold. Reasons I hate this blanket: 1. It’s thinner than the old blanket. This makes it lightweight, but I have to turn it up higher to get the same amount of warmth. (This is with no extra blanket on top.) 2. It doesn’t seem to warm as well as the old one. I used to run the old one on 4, this one I have to run on 6 or higher just to feel comfortable. (This is with an extra blanket on top.) 3. It slides off of me, even when my husband isn’t in bed. The old blanket had a slightly rougher texture underneath. I assume that kept it from sliding while I slept. This one has the same smooth texture on both sides. During the night, I wake up cold and with the blanket half off of me at least 4 times. (I do not toss and turn.) Double that when my husband is also in the bed. I have tried countering this by pulling the blanket more to my side of the bed, but it still slides off. (I do use a flat/top sheet while sleeping. If you don’t, then this might not be an issue for you.) 4. The old blanket’s controls sat up vertically on the nightstand, this one’s lay flat horizontally on the nightstand. It was easy to see the display and buttons while lying down with the old blanket. I have to sit up in order to see or adjust the settings on this blanket. This doesn’t come into play often, but when it does, it’s annoying. Reasons I like this blanket: 1. It’s very soft. 2. Lightweight. Overall, I do not recommend this blanket and will not buy it again.

THE softest electric blanket Ive ever owned. Never get fleece bc after a few yrs, they feel like sand paper! This one has low or No EMF field. I can't remember. I was raise under electric blankets until my last two. I never knew about EMF but now I do. I feel much safer using Low or No EMF electric blankets. This one feels so soft and lovely. I got it on sale and for 62 bucks it was well worth the low price. THE blanket is kindof thin so u can really feel the wires but I always use it between covers so I can't feel the wires. I never lie ontop of it bc I want it to last. It's not good for the wires. I love the control. It has 1 soft light just to see the setting. Unlike my last one that had so many lights I had to tape over it. Horrible for sleep. Anyway, I love my blanket. Ive had it for a couple months and so far so good. Just treat it with respect and it will respect you back.

I’ve had mike for 1.5 years now. It never got super hot, but I liked that. And I absolutely loved the thinness of it compared to all the double thick ones. It has not however stopped getting near as warm as before. So it lasted longer than some reviewers, but I may go ahead and search for a different one this round.

This is without a doubt. One of the coziest, most cuddly blankets we've ever had. I sleep hot so I don't turn my side on my husband sleeps cold, and he loves it. This is the fourth heated blanket we've purchased over the years, and it's by far our best one yet. Great deal for the money and the heating performance is right on for us.

I often use heated blankets to lay on to aid in body aches from a medical condition and so I've been through a few of them over the last 10 years and decided to try this brand after seeing good reviews online. I can only assume they hand picked the best of the best to send in to the review sites because these blankets are weakly heated, poorly functional, and variable in quality. The first blanket I ordered was a purple throw and came with a controller that rattled from something broken inside and refused to turn on. It was plush and would have been a comfortable throw on it's own to snuggle under if I didn't need the heat. I knew I'd have to return it due to the broken controller and ordered a red blanket next due to a significant price increase on the purple. The red one arrived with a functional controller, and surprisingly contained a warranty card and directions that the first blanket had been missing. Immediately I wondered if I had been given a used blanket the first time. I verified the controller worked on the red blanket and tried it out on the purple one before returning it. Something was obviously wrong with the purple blanket itself as the working controller still flashed the lights and would not reset. Which means the first one I received had both a broken blanket and controller, along with missing the included paperwork. Red one seemed at first like it would be better, but after a few uses it is also being returned. Before going to bed, I often pull back my normal blankets and top sheet to then tuck a heated blanket between my sheets and warm the bed. I've done this for years and every other heated blanket or throw heats the bed toasty warm within an hour on even the coldest nights. Not this one. It takes an extremely long time to heat and a 2-hour timer cycle is insufficient for the blanket to fully warm. This is partly due to the large dead spots created by the wiring pattern that leave the bed ice cold except in a pattern about 2-inches wide that follows the wires that are spaced wide apart. I've never had a heated blanket/throw heat this poorly. After 3-4 hours the bed area under the blanket is a uniform lukewarm and not hot enough to warm a person up if you hop in bed chilly, nor enough to relieve any body aches. It's just too cool. As well, the red blanket is no where near as plush as the purple one. It also has threads that are coming loose after hardly any use. The difference in the quality feel between the two products is substantial. Both blankets have been returned and I'll be shopping for a different brand next.
