I wanted to buy some US-made fixtures to replace aging 2-tube fluorescent garage lights in my basement, but the price - a pack of four for under eighty bucks - was too good to pass up. US-made units cost 2-3 times that. Installation effort was what you'd expect. One drawback is that there is no metal trough running down the center of the inside of the fixture to contain the wiring, so you need to tie it up (I used nylon cable ties) or it will sag down against the plastic diffuser and look bad. The big surprise was when I switched them on. I had replaced a mix of twin-40w and twin-32w fluorescent fixtures, and from what I had read, they each put out around 5000 lumens. The light these units blast out has to be way, way more than that. I mean, I think a doctor could now perform surgery in my basement, but he might need to wear sunglasses. A friend who works in maintenance said that he has found that these sorts of relatively inexpensive, Asian-made products often do not last as long as similar US-made products. I really like this light, it is extremely bright, almost makes every room in the hallway in the house look dark now in comparison. it seems $15 cheaper, or more than competitors. not so great: I didn't install it until months later and I discovered the corner was cracked (could not replace). Additionally the assembly at factory seems not so great: 1. I saw stripped screw heads inside 2. the drywall anchors provided were garbage 3. the 12v transformer was not fastened to the body (dangling) 4. wires don't have a good way of staying off the cover (leaving wire shadows). I'd still recommend this product overall. Nothing glamorous but delivers huge performance! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Had these light temporarily mounted to test output levels and the light felt harsh, even at lower wattage settings. Took slow-mo video at 240fps on Iphone and can see the light levels are fluctuating. This is going into an office setting and we can't have our employees dealing with fatigue due to the lighting. I've been trying to return these for the last 4 days and the seller takes 24hrs to respond and just asks different questions instead of sending shipping instructions. Shop space, garage, etc, these lights would be fine. BTW, they are extremely light, probably 4 lbs each, throw a LOT of light out, the wattage consumption was in-line with the documentation. Just not a good fit for office space where you will be working for 8 hours a day with minimum natural lighting to offset the flicker. ... show more

This is exactly what I was expecting from a light. I replaced a fluorescent twin bulb fixture, and this light is MUCH BRIGHTER, is instant-on, and the daylight color is much better. The mounting screws and anchors that came with the light are not the best for use in ceiling drywall, so you might consider butterfly anchors instead of what they sent. Otherwise, installation was a breeze. The only complaint I have is that the tabs that hold the outer light cover scratch against the ceiling when you close them to secure the plastic light cover. ... show more

Great light and a reasonable price. Installed in the kitchen with no help. Its light weight is a real asset when you don't have another person there to hold it up and mark the mounting holes. It gives off a great deal of light, probably even brighter than I expected. If I have one complaint, it would be that the covet/shade is pretty flimsy and is easily dented/bent so be aware of that when handling it. ... show more
