This is a large bright light fixture. Ceiling mounted close to ceiling, lightweight with a plastic cover surrounded by brushed nickel finish. Very modern and stylish. Just turn off electricity, match wires, white to white, black to black, twist wires and put on the correct size of wire nut, that's the plastic cap you twist on so wires are protected from the other wires. Also don't forget the ground wire. That's the copper wire to make sure your fixture is safe. Usually a screw on the fixture will have GND on it to indicate where to wrap the bare copper wire to. I bought this for one of my bedrooms thinking it was like another one I have that is made out of glass. This is a cheaper made version made of plastic. The metal frame is also much thinner. That said it seems to work fine. As other reviewers noted, the screws included are not adequate. They are too short. I had to find and use different screws for the installation to work. Also, my unit seem to have been a return, because one of the wires was cut already and the packaging was. If I had known, I would have spend the extra $7 and gotten the better quality one. ... show more
