  • Works Great For Mini Pools
I got this for our tiny little Intex pool. 10 ft diameter by 30in tall, with 1185 gallon capacity. We just used the crappy little filter pump that came with the pool with 330 GPH. My 2 and 5 year old were freezing in the unheated summer water and would want to get out after like 5 mins. This heater worked great for that. I spent some time researching tiny pool heaters and there appears to be only two extremes: at the low end are sous vide heaters that obviously can't heat any size pool and solar mats or at the other end of the spectrum are pool heaters that cost thousands of dollars. Nothing in between. I was on the verge of going down a rabbit hole making a homemade propane heater but then I took a chance on this. It was double the cost of the pool but it really was amazing. Every morning I turned on the heater and every afternoon by the time we were done with work and school/camp, the pool was 90-100 degrees. The kids spent hours in the pool. We were also able to extend the summer season by a few weeks with this. It is great. I can imagine if you had a small but not miniature pool and you bought this, it might not perform adequately. You need to keep your expectations in line with the specs. I didn't have any problems with it freezing, leaking, or anything else. My pool pump was annoying and could only stay on 10 hrs at a time. At first I was super careful to make sure I stopped the heater because I was afraid I would burn it out. But then one time I forgot and the heater just auto turned off when it reached the set temperature. So after that I just let it go. Worked great. I do have to say I always turned it off before anyone went in the water. Buying this random stuff online, I was a little worried about the danger of electricity and water. And I would have loved a GFCI plug like the pool filter has. I also didn't love having all these electric cords so close to the pool but I guess I could get longer hoses. ... show more

  • **RUST ALERT** Product will Rust in first Month - Poor Quality Materials Used
I would strongly recommend avoiding purchasing this product and this brand. I recently installed this product and within 20 days there was noticeable rust forming. By the time I noticed, I was 5 days past the return date. When contacting the seller and requesting the refund, they told me just to spray this piece with an anti-rust spray and it's made of iron so that can form in high humidity areas. The seller did not help me at all and referred me to Amazon. Poor support and poor quality materials. Avoid at all costs. Fortunately, Amazon helped resolve and I will be returning this product ASAP. ... show more

  • You will need a 20 amp outlet with GFCI for better performance and safety
Work perfectly, second year using . Take sometime to heat ,that's depends of the capacity of the pool. Good product, no complaints so far

  • HOT and compatible with intex pools
This heater kept our 15’ x 42” intex pool HOT all last summer. It was stored inside and is warming the pool up again for summer 2025. It runs on a standard outlet and the fittings are compatible with plastic hose pools.

  • It works well, if you understand its limitations.
First off the 110v pool heater market is pretty much mostly junk. Don't expect this to be a fully functional year round heater to heat your 8000 gallon pool through the winter months, and I think you'll largely be happy with this unit. We are now halfway through our second summer with this heat pump. I'm using it in Calgary Canada, which is at a slightly elevated altitude (heat pumps are not as effective at higher altitudes), and our nights still get pretty cool, down to about 51 or 52 degrees, even in the height of summer. So I can't leave this thing on all night or it ices up. I usually turn it on about 10 in the morning and turn it off by 8 or 9 at night. We use it on a little 8 footer quickset pool for our small children. It'll heat that thing up from 70 to over 90 if you leave it on most of the day. The thermostat is completely unreliable, it has never worked correctly and it measures 10 degrees below the temperature sometimes, sometimes higher than the temperature. So you have to basically manually operate it, and you have to sometimes set the temperatures to weird numbers to get it to stay on. That part I hate. The instructions? Horrible. It also quickly rusted around the grates, but it's not that bad, it still looks half decent, and I leave it outside all summer uncovered. Store it in my heated garage in the winter months. As long as you don't use a filter pump that filters much higher than 750 gallons per hour, you could probably get away with using this on pretty much any size of pool, and it would do a good job. You are just limited by the flow, as if it was much higher than 750 gallons, it would probably ice up. It was a bit pricey (especially considering our currency differences + shipping), but it definitely heats the crap out of that pool and it keeps us happy as we get to use our pool lots compared to how frigid it always was before we had this heater. So it was worth every cent. Would recommend, but just understand its limitations and set your expectations accordingly. ... show more
