Title: “The 4x4 MIMO Beast That Tamed My Dead Zones” Review: I grabbed the Waveform QuadMini because my home office was basically a Wi-Fi Bermuda Triangle — even the neighbor’s cat had better bars than me. This external antenna is no joke. Four separate MIMO feeds working together means you get a real signal boost instead of the snake-oil bars you see with cheaper junk. Build quality is industrial-grade — feels like you could bolt it to a spaceship if Elon called and needed better Starlink. The cables are thick, weather-rated, and clearly designed to last, not fray after one season in the sun. Once connected to my 5G modem, I went from barely one bar to full-bore download speeds, stable enough to stream 4K and upload giant files without rage-quitting. I am very impressed with the Waveform QuadMini 4X4 MIMO antenna, as well as, support from WaveForm. I recently purchased the Waveform QuadMini 4X4 Low-Profile Antenna Kit from Waveform to go with my T-Mobile 5G G4AR Gateway. We use it for basic internet access and streaming. This gateway is hard wired to a Windows 11 Gigabyte speed network with an ASUS router, switch, two Windows 11 PCs, as well as, a Synology NAS, Laser Printer and 6 Apple devices via WiFi, as well as, Ring Cameras and two TVs, and several other IOTs. I also have a 4 node TP-Link Deco Gigabyte speed wireless System attached to this network. This Deco system has the same SSID as the wireless on the ASUS router. This SSID is different than the one on the T-Mobile G4AR Gateway. We live at the Lake of The Ozarks off of Y Road in Linn Creek. Our house is surrounded by large Oak Trees with a clear view of the sky starting at about 40 to 45 degrees up. We are in a heavy tourist area during the summer and the speeds noted in this review were taken during tourist season which seems to overload T-Mobile. Prior to installing the Waveform QuadMini our internet speeds ranged from 20 to 110Mbs with the average being in the range of 20 to 40Mbs. These speeds were obtained with the G4AR T-Mobile Gateway setting near a window looking toward a T-Mobile Cell tower using the internal antenna. I usually got two bars, but sometimes three on the gateway. I first installed the QuadMini antenna inside the house with the gateway near a window looking in the general direction of the nearest T-Mobile Cell Tower. With this arrangement I was getting upload speeds of 110 to 250Mbs with the average being in the low 200s. I then moved the QuadMini outside to an old Dish Antenna roof mount which was approximately 15ft in the Air with the Quad Mini pointing in the direction of the T-Mobile tower. I used the Signal Finder from the WE: boost App to find the strongest signal from the cell tower to point the antenna even though it is not a directional antenna. I do not use their signal booster. This morning’s download speeds ranged from 371Mbs to 483Mbs. Upload speeds were 3.64 to 7.07Mbs. These readings were taken on Saturday Morning August 2nd, 2025 between 7am and 10am and was peaking at 407Mbs at 10pm. This is a peak tourist date and time for our area so T-Mobile is quite busy at this time. In the afternoon, around 2:30pm the download ran 385 to 389Mbs. Support The support from WaveForm was refreshing and fantastic compared to other companies. First, the WaveForm Antenna came with a very thorough document. More importantly, there was not AI to attempt to get through to get a live agent. Support was from live agents. I initially purchased the Waveform QuadPro, but ended up returning it in favor of the QuadMini. While the QuadPro delivered impressive speeds - up to 332Mbps download and 12.8Mbps upload - it lacked stability, no matter where I positioned it. My speeds fluctuated wildly, ranging from 76Mbps down / 6.46Mbps up to the higher-end speeds mentioned, and at times, it wouldn't work at all resulting in annoying notifications saying sensors, cameras, etc were going offline throughout the day. I decided to try the QuadMini, an omnidirectional antenna that doesn’t need to be aimed at a cell tower, and it's been a great decision. My speeds are now much more stable, consistently ranging between 180–239Mbps download and 6.47–14.2Mbps upload - with typical speeds around 180–190Mbps down and low teens up. This is with the Mini positioned indoors and connected to a mesh Wi-Fi system alongside the T-Mobile gateway. Directly connecting to the T-Mobile gateway alone gives speeds close to 300Mbps, but some devices in the house struggle to stay connected without the mesh system. This has been a massive improvement over not using a Waveform antenna at all - before, I was only getting around 45–55Mbps down and 4–6Mbps up, which led to constant issues: Microsoft Teams meetings were unusable, Wi-Fi calls dropped, and streaming devices struggled to load content. I wish the larger Waveform QuadPro had worked and I'm still unsure why it wasn’t stable, but I’m extremely happy with the performance of the QuadMini. If I decide to test mounting it on a window or even outdoors, I’ll update my review - but so far, everything has been running flawlessly. T-Mobile Users - Important Note: If you experience issues with Apple Private Relay or your work VPN, it might be due to a conflicting T-Mobile feature. You’ll need to call T-Mobile and ask them to disable it. The first-tier support rep didn’t understand the issue and had me in a loop, but after being escalated to a higher tier, the technician knew exactly what to turn off - though they didn’t specify what it was. The fix took effect within minutes. Some online sources suggest it may be a site tracker feature; but who knows. Overall, I’m thrilled with the Waveform QuadMini - I’m so glad a product like this exists!

I have the newest T-Mobile TMO-G4AR gateway. First, the cables that come with the antenna are rather large and bulky at the end where they go into the bottom of the antenna. I believe there are some filters on the ends, but they are close enough that the interfere with each other when connecting to the G4AR gateway. Also, because they are rather stiff, if you attach them to the bottom of the gateway, it will no longer sit on its base. You can 90-degree degree adapters, but even with these, when the come out, you won't be able to get it to go up against the wall if you want it at the back of a piece of furniture, This may be unique to the G4AR, but I felt like I was wresting cables the whole time I was trying to find a good place to put the antenna. I mentioned this first because there are a lot of excellent reviews out there, so if you are tempted to try it and have the T mobile G4AR, just remember this in your planning. Next, I bought just the antenna and 3 foot cable and it was marked "Used" from the Amazon retail store. I can't know if there was a defect in the unit, but there was no location I tried that gave a good a signal as the factory antenna did. I am not that far away from the closest tower, maybe 1/2 mile, and my download without antenna is actually pretty good (330-400 in the morning, 250-270 mid-day) but my upload is rather slow 16 in the morning, 8-10 midafternoon), and my goal was to get better upload. In no location was I able to get as good a performance with the external antenna as with the G4AR internal antenna. Again, this unit was marked as "Used" so we can't know if it was the individual antenna being defective or that maybe the newest T-Mobile gateway is just a very good design. I did not use the antenna outdoors. All testing was done with the antenna on the inside of windows. It is possible that putting it outside would have improved the results, but I did not try outside. Also, I did not get the extra cables because they looked bulky, and since I had no intention of mounting it outside, I just went with the basic antenna kit. The longer cables look stiffer than the 3 foot cables though, and I suspect that they would also be problematic if used inside the home, unless you were bringing them down from an attic, but this means that if you mount the antenna more than 3 feet away, you have another heavy cable to deal with. This may just be the price you have to pay for a 5G wireless home gateway, but I am just including it because few reviews talk about the physical attributes of the setup. Vital to repeat this. The system was marked as "used" so my comments about performance have to be considred if making a buying decision, but the cable think is going to be the case for anyone using the G4AR, and perhaps other modem types. If your antenna connections are at the bottom of the unit, you may have to find an alternate mounting option rather than just sitting it on the base.

I initially ordered the QuadPro a year or so ago and while I was impressed with the quality, it did nothing for me and I ended up returning it. I live about 1.5 miles from a large 500' tall T-Mobile tower, but it's uphill through dense forest and I have no line of sight. I fed my signals to AI and it suggested trying the QuadMini saying that it was actually a much better fit for my scenario as it's omnidirectional. The results speak for themselves. Pre-antenna: 442.04 Mbps down, 1.39 Mbps up, which sounds decent, but packet loss was an unusable 53.8% Post-antenna: 852.04 Mbps down, 14.67 Mbps up, and packet Loss: 0.0% Did I mention that it's suction-cupped the inside of a window? Count me impressed. I finally have a usable backup cellular connection and the money I spent on an X75 modem finally seems worth it.

Cable internet is pretty terrible where we live, so I was looking for something more reliable. I went with a T-Mobile gateway at my house. I tried different locations in my house for the gateway (with internal antenna) and the best I could get was 116 Mbps download and 2.1 Mbps upload. I was also only getting 2 bars of signal strength. The nearest cell tower is 0.8 miles from my house. I checked what folks were doing to get faster throughput and a lot of people had good luck with this antenna. When I installed this antenna in the same location as my gateway, I was getting slightly better throughput and no signal gain. I tried a variety of locations, but no real gains. Many folks were mounting these antennas on their house or in their attic, but to do that you need an extension cable to get to the gateway (which needs to be indoors). I bought an Outdoor Rated 10' Waveform UltraFlex-Quad Cable, Low-Loss Quad-195 Extension Cable so I could mount this on my roof and cable to my gateway inside. I am now getting above 250 Mbps download and 3.8 Mbps upload and 2 bars signal strength. It's working well now, but I have $262 invested. Cable internet for 250Mbps (when it worked) cost $130 per month and T-Mobile is charging me $50 per month, so I am saving $80 per. So, the antenna and cables should pay for themselves in 3 months. Hopeful I continue to get good throughput with T-Mobile. The antenna and cables are on my roof and fully exposed to the elements. Both are supposed to be rated for outdoor use. The documentation recommends mounting on the said of the house, so my roof location should be similar. We'll see how the antenna and antenna do over time in the elements. Overall, the antenna and cables seem good quality. The antenna comes with a stand mount, suction cup mounts (for window mount), and a pole mount kit. I used the pole mount and a plastic mount for my roof (I did not want to use a metal mount due to possible antenna interference). One quick note, there are rubber boots on each wire. At first I could not figure out what these were for, but once I installed an extension cable I realized that these slide over the cable connectors once you the extension is attached to seal the connection from weather/water.

Waveform QuadMini: 4x4 MIMO External Antenna The kit for this antenna is great! I recommend getting the kit with the extra cable if you need to move the antenna further from the router, as the cable that is attached to the antenna is less than 3 feet long (perfect for my needs). Bought this for the tmobile home internet 5g. There is a menu option on the "router" for internal and external antennas. I tested multiple locations around my house, testing at each location 3 times for internal and external antennas. Download speeds were about the same, with the ping being marginally better and the jitter about half when compared to the internal antenna. In addition, the reception range was somewhat better with the external antenna. Almost forgot to mention the signal bars on the 5g router didn't change when I switched from internal to external e.g. 3 bars internal, 3 bars external for 1 location. I ordered a used antenna at a good discount, so maybe the antenna wasn't within manufacturer's spec. I recommend this antenna if you are willing to take a chance, but I think the more expensive model is the way to go (approximately 10db gain vs approx 5 db gain). I dunno though because the 10 db antenna is directional... take a chance it may work for you.

Got this and connected it without permanently installing it. What I immediately noticed is that my signal stabilized. Initially, with the antenna being inside of a log cabin, there was little to no speed increase over my best speed test but the speed was far more consistent, maintaining better up and down performance instead of the wild swings in performance I'd grown accustomed to. With just a T-Mobile gateway I was getting from 90-320 down and 2-15 up but it was all over the place. With the WaveForm (inside) I'd get 220-280 down and 10-30 up but these connections were far more stable. I'm pretty far from the tower, surrounded by old growth forrest, and in the mountains so this is a difficult situation to be sure, but with the antenna installed outside on a pole just above our roof, I'm in the 480 down 18 up range most of the time. It's important to note that your results may vary. Distance, environment, construction method of your home, area interference, UFOs... These connections can be difficult, but... The support starts the moment you open the box and scan the QR code. You don't reach out to them. They start texting you. Don't have a sec to respond? No worries. This exchange seems to stay live from the beginning and you can just text them back whenever you have an issue or question. It's kind of remarkable. I'm building a mountain resort and don't have time to deal with making this antenna work. Support has stuck with me for months, occasionally checking in to see how things are going sometimes weeks after I haven't responded. NOT IN AN ANNOYING WAY like they're trying to sell me something. They just seem to be genuinely concerned with getting the most of their product and I'm all about it. And just in case you're wondering, yes! This continued well past the return window for the product purchase. I still have other recommendations from them to try as I'd really like to increase my upload speeds a little, but I know they've got my back when I'm ready to work on it again. They're doing all this right and I'm happy to support them in that endeavor.
