  • A Signal Booster That Actually Earns Its Keep
Title: “The 4x4 MIMO Beast That Tamed My Dead Zones” Review: I grabbed the Waveform QuadMini because my home office was basically a Wi-Fi Bermuda Triangle — even the neighbor’s cat had better bars than me. This external antenna is no joke. Four separate MIMO feeds working together means you get a real signal boost instead of the snake-oil bars you see with cheaper junk. Build quality is industrial-grade — feels like you could bolt it to a spaceship if Elon called and needed better Starlink. The cables are thick, weather-rated, and clearly designed to last, not fray after one season in the sun. Once connected to my 5G modem, I went from barely one bar to full-bore download speeds, stable enough to stream 4K and upload giant files without rage-quitting. Installation is about as easy as any antenna can be: find a spot with line of sight, aim it, secure the brackets, and watch your signal bars multiply like rabbits. Pros: ✔️ 4x4 MIMO for real performance gains ✔️ Built solid enough to survive a hurricane ✔️ Excellent cable and hardware quality ✔️ Fixes dead zones for good Cons: ➖ You might discover the rest of your network is now the bottleneck ➖ Requires a bit of aiming to get peak results Bottom line: if you want to transform “Wi-Fi wasteland” into “streaming paradise,” this Waveform QuadMini is worth every penny — you’ll wonder how you ever put up with bad reception before. ... show more

  • They're likely winning at a tough game - for good reason.
Size: Complete Kit w/ 10' Cable & Window Entry
Got this and connected it without permanently installing it. What I immediately noticed is that my signal stabilized. Initially, with the antenna being inside of a log cabin, there was little to no speed increase over my best speed test but the speed was far more consistent, maintaining better up and down performance instead of the wild swings in performance I'd grown accustomed to. With just a T-Mobile gateway I was getting from 90-320 down and 2-15 up but it was all over the place. With the WaveForm (inside) I'd get 220-280 down and 10-30 up but these connections were far more stable. I'm pretty far from the tower, surrounded by old growth forrest, and in the mountains so this is a difficult situation to be sure, but with the antenna installed outside on a pole just above our roof, I'm in the 480 down 18 up range most of the time. It's important to note that your results may vary. Distance, environment, construction method of your home, area interference, UFOs... These connections can be difficult, but... The support starts the moment you open the box and scan the QR code. You don't reach out to them. They start texting you. Don't have a sec to respond? No worries. This exchange seems to stay live from the beginning and you can just text them back whenever you have an issue or question. It's kind of remarkable. I'm building a mountain resort and don't have time to deal with making this antenna work. Support has stuck with me for months, occasionally checking in to see how things are going sometimes weeks after I haven't responded. NOT IN AN ANNOYING WAY like they're trying to sell me something. They just seem to be genuinely concerned with getting the most of their product and I'm all about it. And just in case you're wondering, yes! This continued well past the return window for the product purchase. I still have other recommendations from them to try as I'd really like to increase my upload speeds a little, but I know they've got my back when I'm ready to work on it again. They're doing all this right and I'm happy to support them in that endeavor. ... show more

  • A great speed boost for the money. I highly recommend this product! A great speed boost for the money. I highly recommend this product!
Size: Complete Kit w/ 10' Cable & Window Entry
Pros: 1) Works really well for such a simple device (the "antenna" is just a small rectangular dish) 2) The kit had MULTIPLE tools to hang this thing—either outside strapped to a pole (I hung it around my downspout), drilled into a wall, or inside fastened to a window or on a desk. Installation was versatile. 3) Noticeable boost in signal strength. This really does have multiple variables going for it, but once you do some research and point it towards the nearest cell tower, you should get a decent boost in signal strength 4) A lot of instructional material, FAQs, even on-line videos made installation pretty easy. After strapping it around my downspout, I used the window extension to run the lines underneath my window (so that it could remain closed), and then connected those wires to my cell modem 5) Obviously with 5G, there will be many variables to speed, but on average, I consistently got about ≤ 100 Mbps down and up to 10 Mbps up; now I get about 150-160 Mbps down and 20 Mbps up. Just this morning (5/25/25 at 07:09) I got 210.66 Mbps down and 55.64 Mbps up. 6) Customer service—I had someone texting me soon as I started setting up, making sure I wasn't lost, so that was nice. Cons: 1) Depends on setup obviously, but it can be kind of complex if you're looking for the best signal (ie, installing the antenna outdoors and running a line to your cell modem). I do wish the window extension line was a bit longer, by like six more inches, as my window is thick and the extension barely made it for me to close my window. 2) This is not on the product itself, but I have the T-Mobile Sagemcom Fast 5688W 5G Wi-Fi 6 Internet Gateway, and you have to bust that thing open to access the internal connectors. OMG that part sucked donkey balls. ... show more

  • Cables are problematic, and Used unit may have been defective
I have the newest T-Mobile TMO-G4AR gateway. First, the cables that come with the antenna are rather large and bulky at the end where they go into the bottom of the antenna. I believe there are some filters on the ends, but they are close enough that the interfere with each other when connecting to the G4AR gateway. Also, because they are rather stiff, if you attach them to the bottom of the gateway, it will no longer sit on its base. You can 90-degree degree adapters, but even with these, when the come out, you won't be able to get it to go up against the wall if you want it at the back of a piece of furniture, This may be unique to the G4AR, but I felt like I was wresting cables the whole time I was trying to find a good place to put the antenna. I mentioned this first because there are a lot of excellent reviews out there, so if you are tempted to try it and have the T mobile G4AR, just remember this in your planning. Next, I bought just the antenna and 3 foot cable and it was marked "Used" from the Amazon retail store. I can't know if there was a defect in the unit, but there was no location I tried that gave a good a signal as the factory antenna did. I am not that far away from the closest tower, maybe 1/2 mile, and my download without antenna is actually pretty good (330-400 in the morning, 250-270 mid-day) but my upload is rather slow 16 in the morning, 8-10 midafternoon), and my goal was to get better upload. In no location was I able to get as good a performance with the external antenna as with the G4AR internal antenna. Again, this unit was marked as "Used" so we can't know if it was the individual antenna being defective or that maybe the newest T-Mobile gateway is just a very good design. I did not use the antenna outdoors. All testing was done with the antenna on the inside of windows. It is possible that putting it outside would have improved the results, but I did not try outside. Also, I did not get the extra cables because they looked bulky, and since I had no intention of mounting it outside, I just went with the basic antenna kit. The longer cables look stiffer than the 3 foot cables though, and I suspect that they would also be problematic if used inside the home, unless you were bringing them down from an attic, but this means that if you mount the antenna more than 3 feet away, you have another heavy cable to deal with. This may just be the price you have to pay for a 5G wireless home gateway, but I am just including it because few reviews talk about the physical attributes of the setup. Vital to repeat this. The system was marked as "used" so my comments about performance have to be considred if making a buying decision, but the cable think is going to be the case for anyone using the G4AR, and perhaps other modem types. If your antenna connections are at the bottom of the unit, you may have to find an alternate mounting option rather than just sitting it on the base. ... show more

  • Going Used/Good Didn't Work Out, But Going NEW Did - Somewhat.
Size: Complete Kit w/ 10' Cable & Window Entry
This is an update to my original review as posted below. It's been over a month since I upgraded to NEW rather than USED-GOOD. I'm still satisfied with the stability of Waveform QuadMini: 4x4 MIMO Low-Profile Antenna Kit | External Antenna. Stability at a well-functional speed covers my primary need. Also, the Waveform customer service center helped me reach my peak mbs for this area. This means I typically pull 40 to 90 mbs, with a lowest dip still ranging above 15. This works great for my family. The Original Review I'm really disappointed with this purchase. Thought I'd save $70 by selecting a USED - GOOD version of the Waveform QuadMini"4x4 MIMO. Sadly, the description of the used item made no mention of missing parts. However, this unit arrive missing both the 10’ SMA Cable, and the Window Entry component. I gave quick shipping to save a few bucks, then blew several days for nothing. I expect multi-component products to occasionally arrive missing components. But come on, that ten foot cable isn't something that QC should miss. I have received a refund, and repurchased this unit as NEW. As such, I do see some benefits in having the unit. But it's only been installed for a few days, so I can't be certain of how effect it will end up being. For now, here's what I am getting vs what I was getting. 1) The speed is currently remaining stable. Before installing the unit, my home internet ranged for 2mbs to 90mbps. 2) Current avg internet speed with the installed QM outside of my upstairs window runs 20 to 60mbps and has not dropped below 15 even once. 3) Although not the 90+ that I had hoped to receive or exceed, the stability of even the lows enable me to have stable computer, phone, and television streaming. That's worth three stars. But at $300 plus, I really expected better performance. I live far in the wilderness of modern internet services, but only about four miles from the nearest tower. Still, I routinely loss connection or endured extreme low connection four to eight times per week. It's looking like the QuadMini is going to reduce my pain. On one side, it gives me stability. From the other viewpoint, it hasn't increased my existing possible quickest speed. In short: If you are seeking only for greater speed, you may not reap any benefits from this antenna system. However, if you can place higher and outdoors, you may at least finally get a stable signal. ... show more

  • Great Antenna System for Better WiFi 5G From Cell Towers Great Antenna System for Better WiFi 5G From Cell Towers
Size: Complete Kit w/ 10' Cable & Window Entry
I bought this antenna system to work with cellphone 5G internet WiFi after my DSL quit working. The antenna was easy to set up. I did have some problems with the U.FL plugs going on the WiFi router circuit board. I tried using the router by itself but was in the fringe signal area. This antenna brought me from 2 Mbps download speed up to 50 Mbps download rate. Sometimes when the cell towers get busy it will drop back to ~ 30 Mbps. I only had one place to install it. My HOA doesn't allow any modifications to the outside of the building. I did do a signal search and didn't find any better signals as I am lower than street levels with several buildings above me. I bought the Waveform 4x4 MIMO QuadMini complete kit and it was well worth it to have everything needed to set it up. I have enclosed a picture that shows where I installed it. Now I can enjoy watching TV again without all the buffering going on and internet that doesn't take all day to load a web page. Great system and I recommend to anyone that needs a better signal using the cell towers. Buy it. You won't be disapointed. ... show more

  • Waveform QuadMini: Reliable, Fast, and a Game-Changer!
I initially purchased the Waveform QuadPro, but ended up returning it in favor of the QuadMini. While the QuadPro delivered impressive speeds - up to 332Mbps download and 12.8Mbps upload - it lacked stability, no matter where I positioned it. My speeds fluctuated wildly, ranging from 76Mbps down / 6.46Mbps up to the higher-end speeds mentioned, and at times, it wouldn't work at all resulting in annoying notifications saying sensors, cameras, etc were going offline throughout the day. I decided to try the QuadMini, an omnidirectional antenna that doesn’t need to be aimed at a cell tower, and it's been a great decision. My speeds are now much more stable, consistently ranging between 180–239Mbps download and 6.47–14.2Mbps upload - with typical speeds around 180–190Mbps down and low teens up. This is with the Mini positioned indoors and connected to a mesh Wi-Fi system alongside the T-Mobile gateway. Directly connecting to the T-Mobile gateway alone gives speeds close to 300Mbps, but some devices in the house struggle to stay connected without the mesh system. This has been a massive improvement over not using a Waveform antenna at all - before, I was only getting around 45–55Mbps down and 4–6Mbps up, which led to constant issues: Microsoft Teams meetings were unusable, Wi-Fi calls dropped, and streaming devices struggled to load content. I wish the larger Waveform QuadPro had worked and I'm still unsure why it wasn’t stable, but I’m extremely happy with the performance of the QuadMini. If I decide to test mounting it on a window or even outdoors, I’ll update my review - but so far, everything has been running flawlessly. T-Mobile Users - Important Note: If you experience issues with Apple Private Relay or your work VPN, it might be due to a conflicting T-Mobile feature. You’ll need to call T-Mobile and ask them to disable it. The first-tier support rep didn’t understand the issue and had me in a loop, but after being escalated to a higher tier, the technician knew exactly what to turn off - though they didn’t specify what it was. The fix took effect within minutes. Some online sources suggest it may be a site tracker feature; but who knows. Overall, I’m thrilled with the Waveform QuadMini - I’m so glad a product like this exists! ... show more

  • Disappointing Performance
I was hoping the Waveform QuadMini 4x4 MIMO antenna kit would improve my home internet speed, but unfortunately, it did the opposite. I got this to boost the signal for my T-Mobile Home Internet gateway, and I followed the instructions for mounting it and connecting the 10' SMA cables. The build quality seems solid and the low-profile design is nice, but when it came to actual performance, I saw no improvement whatsoever. In fact, after testing my speeds with the antenna connected, my internet seemed to slow down and become less consistent compared to when I was just using the gateway by itself. I'm not sure if it was a compatibility issue or a problem with the antenna itself, but the result was frustrating. For the price, I expected a noticeable increase in speed and stability. Since it didn't deliver on its main promise and actually made things worse, I'm giving it 3 stars. ... show more
