I've had this filter installed ahead of a tankless water heater for 6 months and just changed the filter element plus flushed the water heater. My water supply has a lot of minerals and I was expecting to have a buildup in the water heater when I flushed but all was surprisingly clean and the only difference there and other appliances in the house is this filter.

Solved our hard water problems

The size and connection points duplicate my original unit. However, as I picked up the filter out of the shipping box, it sounded like BB's rolling around inside. Turning the unit upside down, the BB's began their trip back to the other end. The unit is sealed so I can't see what's going on inside but my previous hardware store filters have had no such noise. Really not sure what to do with it, keep or return.

Works as it should. You dont need the proprietary 3M T fitting for the install. You can purchase the 3/4 T-Fitting and the 3/4MIPx1/2FIP adapter (both brass) for the filter from the big box store. The filter uses 1/2 thread size. Easy install and value for money
