Built fairly well. It took the clock until midnight of the first night to show correct DST. Lights come on when darkness falls and display is easy to read from a distance. It would be nice if it displayed the date but it seems to be doing as expected.

Bought this for my mother for her bedroom. She wanted something "glow in the dark." While this really doesn't "glow," it lights up softly but can be seen well. Can't really tell if the Atomic Clock feature works, I set it manually and my mother lives in a brick building. All in all (except being a bit expensive for a battery op. wall clock for a room you usually only spend with your eyes closed), it's a very nice clock. If I didn't already have a clock in my bedroom, I'd buy another one for it. ... show more

Very stylish, modern wall clock. I like that this clock has a seconds hand. Most wall clocks don't have a seconds hand. The night light is a nice feature which only turns on when the room goes dark. The night light can be set to low or high brightness, or it can be turned off altogether. The numbers and hands are large and distinct. The clock is easy to read from across the room. The only negative is the only way to mount the clock to the wall is by using the included plastic hook. On all other wall clocks I've had, there's a slotted hole in the back of the clock where it can be placed over a screw head. I was looking for a clock with a night light. Seeing the atomic option, I thought, "I'm in!" Goodness gracias this clock is pretty at night. By day it's somewhat institutional looking, like you might see in a classroom. But at night this clock takes on a personality that you would never dream of. The white, pinched face becomes a glowing blue, and the bold numbers are no longer the blotches of the day. They are shadows, winking at you in a subtle, but obvious way. They have put on their party clothes and gone dancing. If anything, they seem more visible in the dark with the teasing way they attract attention. Oh, I can see the time alright. I'm mesmerized by it. This clock has some sort of spirit in it, living, breathing, cunning, Is it friend or foe? Well, it's a little bit spooky anyway. Without reading the instructions, I installed the batteries, then turned the clock over to see if the second hand was moving. To my horror, the whole clock had taken off. All the hands were moving in a mad dash to get somewhere. Where, oh where would it end? Of course it ended at midnight. Where else? That was spooky too. I turned it over to attempt to set the current time. No way. There were strange, alluring little buttons with the letters "P M C E" above them. Could that possibly be the time zone? Let's just press C. Oh, the clock wasn't done. There was another row of letters "D S L" with a toggle switch underneath. Yes no maybe? From the core of my being the words welled up, "Day Light Savings." I played with the toggle switch and turned the clock over to see if it was still telling me it was midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. It was still midnight in the Garden. It would be midnight forever. And so I decided to set the clock aside until midnight, when I might be able to talk sense into it. And then, unseen by me, the spirit of the clock took over and set the clock to the exact correct time after being left alone for around 10 minutes. There is something invisible in the air that whispers to the clock in a secret voice and language known only to the clock and its invisible companion. "Who are you?!" I cried. But there was no answer. I gazed fondly at the clock's white face, all sulky in the daylight. The second hand moved, as second hands are supposed to do. But this one didn't tick. It glided ever so smoothly. So the whole clock had unnerved me, yet I put it on the wall. And guess what?
