There are several separate number of razors and one adjustable razor. The adjustable one is not so good. But if one is OK ti switch the razors - it works fine, as expected from Wahl. Changing the razors is slightly uneasy, but so far nothing is broken. Using it for almost a year, twice in a month for the beard and is not fantastic but just OK. ... show more

    • Wahl is king of razors, even if it is pricey
Earlier this year I upgraded my beard trimmer to this model from Hot Tools: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09RGDXXHQ/ The Hot Tools trimmer is a solid performer, but there are a couple things about it I didn't love: 1. It lacks a dedicated power source! It comes with a USB cable that you need to attach to a 5A USB power supply that you provide. 2. Some of the attachments do a "just okay" job, but leave me dissatisfied with the uniformity of the cut. So when I saw this new trimmer from Wahl, I really wanted to compare and see if their new product gave a better experience. Here's what I found... In short, I feel like this trimmer is nearly perfect for me! It comes in a nice dopp bag for storage. It provides a traditional power adapter, which I like. The various attachments are really easy to pull off and snap on. I've experimented with several of the attachments, and I generally like them better than the Hot Tools equivalents. The nose trimmer in particular does a much better job. But I also think the basic trimmer guides leave me with a more even cut. If you leave the guides off, then the regular blades do a pretty good job of trimming hair on their own. The Hot Tools trimmer came with a couple of foil attachments so you could try to do actually shave with it, but I found those attachments pretty disappointing and not really a substitute for a dedicated shaver. This Wahl trimmer doesn't include any foil attachments, and I think that's fine. The only thing that I think is strange about this trimmer is the power button. For some reason, it doesn't actually move much or click when you push it. It's not exactly a problem, but it's certainly a little strange. I'm not sure if they're trying to reduce the risk of it coming on unexpectedly if it gets bumped during travel, or what. The instructions provide a few notes about how to take care of your beard, nose, eyebrows, etc. using the included attachments. I think that's also a nice touch, and something the Hot Tools trimmer did not provide. SUMMARY For me, this is a top quality trimmer, and the included attachments all worked great.     • Mostly good but some concerns
The blade variety, the selection of trimmer comb guides and the accessories make this a good setup for facial hair grooming and light hair trimming. It is easy to clean and to change the trimming accessories. But their a few things I don't like: - The first time I touched the smallest trimmer to my lip, it bit me and made me bleed. Be very careful using this blade. - It is crazy loud for a small battery powered trimmer. I have a much larger and more powerful rechargeable trimmer that makes less than half the sound. - The bag is needlessly large for the trimmer and all the accessories. Plus, the divider inside is pretty useless in keeping stuff separated while moving around in a suitcase. - It is a little pricy (although it is name brand) ... show more
