The standout feature is the zoom wheel with built-in length settings. Instead of swapping out a bunch of guards, you just turn the dial to choose from 20 different lengths (from short stubble to a fuller beard). That alone makes trimming faster and less annoying. Performance-wise, it does a really solid job. The blade cuts evenly and doesn’t tug, even on thicker hair. It’s designed to lift flat hairs as you trim, which actually helps you get a more consistent cut in fewer passes. I just purchased this item and have been using it for about a week. I'll speak to what I experienced thus far: I am in my 50's and have been through quite a few beard trimmers in my time. I typically like to be clean-shaven but in my line of work, that isn't always convenient. Therefore, my common facial hair practices are best served as quick and as short as possible -- which is why a beard trimmer is a necessity. One of things I have always disliked about the beard trimming process is the mess and the cleanup, and in the past I've purchased trimmers that catch the hair as it cuts. The downside to those products was how short they would trim, which wasn't very short unless you took off the attachment. But when the guard was taken off, the trimmer would sometimes pull hair or cause skin irritation. The Beard Hedger has none of those problems. Want no mess? Use it in the shower. Want a very short trim? Take off the guard and use it -- no pain, no skin irritation. Holding this trimmer right out of the box gave me an immediate feeling that the quality of this trimmer was top of the line. Not sure if I can put that into understandable words, but once you hold it, you'll understand what I mean. As I said, I've been using this trimmer for about a week. I fully charged it when I received it -- which was super quick -- and I have yet to require a recharge after using it daily. That said, I don't have to run it for more than a few minutes each day. It cuts every hair in one pass. Maybe it costs a little more than the common beard trimmer and even the name-brand ones, but I am extremely pleased with it and happy with the decision to spend the extra -- I feel very confident that I received exactly what I paid for -- well worth it.

Apparently you have to spend this kind of money to get a trimmer that charges via USB-C. But it seems worth the money. The packaging is nice, the instructions are clear and well printed. The trimmer itself is simple and works as described. Which sounds like a given but so many beard trimmers make some part of it unnecessarily difficult. I just want something that charges via USB-C, comes with a charger and case, does not come with a ton of attachments, and trims my beard really well. This does that. So many others come with a weird charger or the blades rust or they're a pain to clean. This one does not have those problems. Comes with a good case. As long as the battery doesn't go out it seems like this might finally be the one.

I’m writing this review because I purchased another VERY popular beard trimmer, and it sucks!! It was a little more expensive than this trimmer. I had this trimmer for just over 3 years before the motor started making weird noises and lost full power. This trimmer is fantastic for its price point. Very easy to clean and maintain. Good enough cutting quality. Battery is fine, not the worst, not the best. It has never cut me whatsoever. It’s very easy to use, if you’re younger and just learning how to trim. The attachment does its job well. Not much else to say. It’s a solid trimmer for $80. I’m going to purchase another one now and return the other brand.

This is a very nice trimmer and cuts awesome. With most beard trimmers I’d have to go through my beard 2-3 times to get a nice even cut. But this one did the work on the first pass. Did have to touch up a bit. But way better than any other trimmer I’ve had to use before. And I do also like the length adjustment on there. I am very satisfied with my purchase. I’ve had this trimmer for 2 weeks now.

It's a great design with only one attachment and the battery life is excellent. I don't understand all the negative reviews that say it leaves uneven results. I like the 3 day look and have it set at 2.5, and it shaves even, but it will miss a few stubborn hairs that I have to go back and hit with scissors. This trimmer is definitely not for someone that is wearing a bush or even more than stubble, just buy a cheap Conair hair cutting kit, as the blades on this are really small and would be overwhelmed by a lot of beard.
