Lamp looks nice, but come with POOR instructions. The connector is not marked with negative or positive, as instructions suggest. The wires, in fact, are positive and neutral/negative. The outlet plug has a large and small prong. The large prong is “neutral” and smaller is “positive. Have attached an image of the wiring, which took a while of researching to figure out correct assembly. Follow the outlet plug up into the light mount, then connect the white connector. Blue is “neutral/negative) and connect to the wide prong, the brown is “positive” and connects to the skinnier prong. ... show more

Those who gave this 4+ stars are kind souls. Due to the worthless instructions these come with, it deserves 1 star. Thanks to the very helpful review of another buyer, who was wonderful enough to post the instructions here, I’d say it’s a 3-star moment. First: the item does not make clear that you need to become a professional electrician in order to get these PLUG-in lights to work. That’s why we peasants buy these — they’re cheaper and easier than hardwiring actual sconce lights. Second: if you WANT to hardwire these, that is an option. It appears that all the parts are available for such an installation but I’m not an electrician, so take that with a grain of salt. Third: Why weren’t these already wired? Just wire them for us — we are ordering “lights with plug” to avoid the hard work of either using our brains or calling an electrician. Fourth: In summary, if you’re an ambitious frugal face who doesn’t mind risking electrocution, it’s doable. If you’re an electrician on a budget, I highly recommend. I loved the look of the lamp. However, you have to be an aspiring electrician to put it together. I don’t understand why the wiring does not come already installed inside the base which could have been done so all you had to do was hang up on wall. This is why my rating was lower than 5.
