I have been shaving my head for over 10 years. I have used most every blade, cream, gel or electric razor on the market. The closest shave for me has been a Mach 3 with a shaving gel. However, shaving my head every day with a blade takes a lot of time and alot of Mach 3 razors---Additionally, I am prone to ingrown hairs on the back of my head. Because of these reasons, I thought I would try the peanut. WOW!!!!! What a great product. It does not shave as close as a blade but it is darn close and it shaves much closer than any other clipper out there. (now that I have lots of gray hair, the very close cut looks like a shave) Using the Peanut has solved my ingrown hair issue completely. This little bugger is very well made and has plenty of power. Also, I have NEVER cut myself with it. The best shave will always be a blade but the Peanut gets the job done in a third of the time, with no cuts or ingrown hairs. It's a winner. UPDATE Aug 2009......the Peanut continues to amaze. It cuts just as good as the day I bought it in 2007. No pulled hairs, the white blade guards still snap on firmly and I am still on the original blade! A drop of mineral oil every now and then is the only maintenance I've done. Finally a quality product that works and lasts. Bravo Wahl Bravo!!!! UPDATE FEB 2013...this sucker is STILL going strong. UPDATE Sept 2013...just took the blades apart, cleaned and mineral oiled them. Put it all back together and it works wonderfully! UPDATE August 2014...well, I finally broke down and bought a new blade set for my Wahl Peanut. The old blade set popped off easily using the edge of a nail file under the base. New blade set snapped right on. I let my head and face grow out for three days, and just got done using the new rebladed Peanut. As expected it just cut/clipped wonderfully. The main unit has as much power as ever. The clipper leaves a "one days" growth on my head and face and now, my head and face hair is all the same length, and looks and feels great. This is by far the best shaving/grooming product I've ever bought. And no, I do not have any affiliation with Wahl.

I've been using the Peanut for 25 years starting when my wife gifted one to me because of my out of control beard. This will be my second Peanut, only in black this time. It works great just like I have come to expect from the peanut. I recommend having a travel bag to keep it in. I bought one designed for it on Amazon. The feature I like most is that it has a 120v cord/plug. I've never been in a bathroom that didn't have a plug for it and cordless trimmers just have something else to fumble with. I see these at many salons or barber shops. The price is higher than the low end stuff but still at a bargain in my opinion. I can't recommend it enough.

First off, I bought this razor originally so as to remove my beard well enough so I could finish removing it with a straight or a safety razor yo complete the task. However, after watching some videos online how to use, I decided to only trim my beard and leave my face covered with neater, shorter whiskers If I had to complain about this razor, it would be that the instructions included did not offer any mention as to how the included guards work. I’m serious as to this point as I didn’t find any videos either on how to use the guards. That said after reading 10 reviews here on Amazon, other reviewers covered the guards and how to use most convincing on how to use. Having not reading reviews here first, I decided to use a comb to keep the razor from coming to close to my face which worked well yet after trying the shallowest guard, it’s use got my beard where I wanted it with ease Having said that, had I known about the guards earlier instead I would have used the tallest guard initially so to have a fuller beard I should explain that although I’m 65 years of age, it wasn’t until I grew this beard out, it’s the first time I ever really sported a fuller, thicker beard, and one I enjoyed wearing as I haven’t had the time to keep my face clean shaven. It’s true, I’m working harder now than I ever have and just don’t have the time to keep a clean shaven face I should mention at one point before using the one guard, I tried cleaning up my beard free hand (w/o) the comb and actually came too close which left a sort of divot in my beard which necessitated that I had to take off more of my beard in the surrounding areas so it looked more balanced. Again, at the risk of repeating myself, had I known initially how to use the guards, I would have left longer whiskers to achieve a longer, neater beard. Live & learn, and like a bad haircut, it will eventually grow out I found another use for my new peanut razor, manscaping, but only after fitting a guard to this razor. I had an electric razor that was purchased for this task but I never enjoyed using it to manscape yet the peanut razor easily accomplished that task, & with aplomb! All in all I’m quite satisfied with choosing this particular Wahl razor. We’ve owned a cordless Wahl razor in the past to keep our horses chins cleaned up but I have to admit I prefer this corded razor over the cordless type. Always power when you need it

I've had a beard for ~35 years and got tired of throwing away rechargeable trimmers just because their battery wore out. My barber has a Peanut and recommended it, so I got the corded model to be done with batteries once and for all. After about two months, I have no regrets. This is a pro-grade product that probably will last for decades in home use. It's a bit louder than any rechargeable trimmer I've ever owned, but I don't mind because the electric power means the RPMs stay consistently high instead of bogging down as the battery ages. But I do wish the included guides were smaller. The smallest is 1/8”, which trims my beard closer than I like. The next size up trims it longer than I like. A size in between would be ideal. So I use the 1/8” guide but hold it away rather than riding along the skin. Fortunately this freehanding approach has worked pretty well. The two largest guides would be great if you want to trim your hair, too. I also like that it doesn't nick when used without a guide. I can trim my mustache right above my lip without drawing blood. With every other trimmer, I had to use scissors instead. Bottom line: This is a fantastic trimmer, especially if you have a longer beard and/or want to cut your own hair, and definitely if you're fed up with rechargeable models that start to fade after just a few years. Highly recommended.
