I have been shaving my head for over 10 years. I have used most every blade, cream, gel or electric razor on the market. The closest shave for me has been a Mach 3 with a shaving gel. However, shaving my head every day with a blade takes a lot of time and alot of Mach 3 razors---Additionally, I am prone to ingrown hairs on the back of my head. Because of these reasons, I thought I would try the peanut. WOW!!!!! What a great product. It does not shave as close as a blade but it is darn close and it shaves much closer than any other clipper out there. (now that I have lots of gray hair, the very close cut looks like a shave) Using the Peanut has solved my ingrown hair issue completely. This little bugger is very well made and has plenty of power. Also, I have NEVER cut myself with it. The best shave will always be a blade but the Peanut gets the job done in a third of the time, with no cuts or ingrown hairs. It's a winner. UPDATE Aug 2009......the Peanut continues to amaze. It cuts just as good as the day I bought it in 2007. No pulled hairs, the white blade guards still snap on firmly and I am still on the original blade! A drop of mineral oil every now and then is the only maintenance I've done. Finally a quality product that works and lasts. Bravo Wahl Bravo!!!! UPDATE FEB 2013...this sucker is STILL going strong. UPDATE Sept 2013...just took the blades apart, cleaned and mineral oiled them. Put it all back together and it works wonderfully! UPDATE August 2014...well, I finally broke down and bought a new blade set for my Wahl Peanut. The old blade set popped off easily using the edge of a nail file under the base. New blade set snapped right on. I let my head and face grow out for three days, and just got done using the new rebladed Peanut. As expected it just cut/clipped wonderfully. The main unit has as much power as ever. The clipper leaves a "one days" growth on my head and face and now, my head and face hair is all the same length, and looks and feels great. This is by far the best shaving/grooming product I've ever bought. And no, I do not have any affiliation with Wahl.

I've had a beard for ~35 years and got tired of throwing away rechargeable trimmers just because their battery wore out. My barber has a Peanut and recommended it, so I got the corded model to be done with batteries once and for all. After about two months, I have no regrets. This is a pro-grade product that probably will last for decades in home use. It's a bit louder than any rechargeable trimmer I've ever owned, but I don't mind because the electric power means the RPMs stay consistently high instead of bogging down as the battery ages. But I do wish the included guides were smaller. The smallest is 1/8”, which trims my beard closer than I like. The next size up trims it longer than I like. A size in between would be ideal. So I use the 1/8” guide but hold it away rather than riding along the skin. Fortunately this freehanding approach has worked pretty well. The two largest guides would be great if you want to trim your hair, too. I also like that it doesn't nick when used without a guide. I can trim my mustache right above my lip without drawing blood. With every other trimmer, I had to use scissors instead. Bottom line: This is a fantastic trimmer, especially if you have a longer beard and/or want to cut your own hair, and definitely if you're fed up with rechargeable models that start to fade after just a few years. Highly recommended.

Still going strong after two years. Does not pull hair, gives a nice close trim, and doesn't heat up like others I've used. And I love how compact it is and easy to bring when travelling. I use it on my beard and head and it works great for both.

This product is amazing. I highly recommended. This is the second I buy, the first one was 14 years ago. The size and weigh is just perfect if you want to take it on a trip. I remember a friend recommended me, and I was hesitating for the price, but it worth every penny. Don't think it, buy it.
