Before you buy read this! This is a NON-EXPANDABLE model (you cannot add additional cameras - “baby units”). This unit, as is with two cameras only, is decent. The picture quality is not HD, but it’s also not terrible. Night vision is just fine at closer ranges, but degrades after about 5 to 6 feet. The reason we repurchased was because of the large screen size. The reason I have chosen to give it an overall of 2 stars is because the manufacturer has elected to remove functionality of adding additional cameras to all models except one. The software is identical across their parent units (confirmed by their Customer Service Rep I spoke to), except for one menu item and that’s Pair/Unpair Camera. This functionality is only available on one model. The rest of the models have this menu selection disabled (hidden menu item). This is incredibly disappointing that VTECH would disable this feature! I have had to purchase an entire new set because the first parent unit was damaged and I now have 2 cameras that are useless, albeit totally functional. it would have been nice to have been able to call VTECH customer service and order a new Parent unit. Unfortunately a new parent unit would not have been programmed to my two existing cameras; hence the need to purchase an entire new set. The cameras are capable of pairing to new parent units, as they have a pin hole pairing button on the side. This yet again underscores their ability, but functionality removed. I’m disappointed and it appears that VTECH is positioning their company as “sales first and customer second”! Shame on VTECH!!

Terrible! I may be slightly biased, since I had the VM343 before this (but the parent unit stopped charging and VTech support was unresponsive). The picture quality is terrible, it's like there is a white film over the camera. I could maybe live with that (I can get the gist if my son is laying in the crib or if he's standing), but the parent unit doesn't mute! I live in a small place, I don't need sound, I really just like to see my son.

I love this system! The camera is awesome and picture quality is so good! Night vision is nice and clear and the microphone could pick up a pin dropping which I like because I can hear every coo and cry my daughter makes. Also you can play music directly from the screen and it plays out of the camera for the baby. It's so cool. My only complaint would be the video screen unit battery life is not the greatest. It dies super fast if you dont have it plugged into a wall. It does charge fairly fast but it's an inconvenience to have to constantly walk back into my room to plug in especially if I'm out working in the yard for example.

The picture quality is very good however this seems to come at the expense of a poor battery life, particularly if you would like to keep the screen on. Additionally, our first monitor broke after one week of use (stopped finding signal to camera in room) but Amazon replaced it. It is a decent monitor that gets the job done but certainly not my favorite product. I would trade a little less resolution for a longer battery life.

I love this monitor. I wanted a video feed that wasn't connected to wifi. I had heard too many reviews saying that the wifi feeds were delayed. This camera has no delay! My son is still sleeping in our room, but I love that I can look at him on the camera without getting up or grabbing my glasses. My son is a super light sleeper, and this camera allows me to checknon him without disturbing his slumber. We have a 2 story house, and have had no problems with feed when taking the parent piece downstairs. As far as battery life, I cannot review, as we leave it plugged in. I like the fact that I can turn the video off and still hear him. It does allow for you to talk to the camera and I've only used that a handful of times. It does play music, but it's tingy and doesn't sound nice. Overall, great camera

I gave this product 1 star because it's just not worth the price. I almost returned it but decided against it because thats more of a hassle But the picture quality is not the best and the battery life is complete crap. It dies within 2 hours and it's just not my favorite. However i love that it tells me the temperature of the room and the picture quality is enough to help me keep my baby safe ...i just expected more from it.

This monitor is overall pretty great! The battery life on the parent unit is awful, AWFUL. And the connection sometimes just drops randomly even if you’re well within the range. My house isn’t very big and it’ll lose signal randomly just from the bedroom my baby is in to the living room, it’s maybe a twelve foot distance. But it’s got good picture day and night. Good sound. Nice features, like play music, sound activated screen, dimming screen option, multiple cameras, etc. Unfortunately, within just a few weeks of having this, I got a white blur going on. I’m not sure if it’s on the camera or on the parent unit. But for the cost of this little thing, you’d think it lasts a bit longer. I’m so disappointed because I can’t really afford a second one. You’d think it’s better quality. Then again, there are some more expensive ones than this one that probably do less. Either way, I’d only consider this one if you don’t mind only getting a couple weeks of use out of it. Otherwise, take your money elsewhere.

I’m not 100% happy with this cameras quality it shows some shadows and is a little fuzzy in the photo. However I am satisfied bc it goes through my VERY THICK WALLS!!!!!! We tried four cameras and this is the only one that worked with our walls. We live in an old remodeled warehouse apartment building only 800 sq ft apartment but the walls are very thick. So this camera works. From the bedroom to the front of the apartment in the living room. One thing that is a downer is the flashing GREEN LIGHT when you have the monitor off on the camera. So the green light flashes when we are in bed and can see it on my daughters crib. Apparently it’s to let you know the monitor is off and camera not connected to it. So I either leave the monitor on or turn the camera off at night by her crib so the green flashing doesn’t wake her. AGAIN, I’m keeping it bc I’m tired of trying cameras that don’t work with our walls 200 ft away.
