I purchased this while it was on sale for Black Friday to use while on a family vacation. We stayed in a cabin where our room was upstairs so I wanted a baby cam to have so I can monitor my baby while we were downstairs during her naps upstairs. It’s simple, doesn’t require any sort of Wi-Fi, just an outlet for the camera itself. The monitor runs on a charge so it can be used while it’s plugged in or not. It’s nice to be able to take the monitor around with you throughout your home. It’s not the most high tech compared to some of these fancy Wi-Fi baby cams currently on the market, but for what we used it for, it was great! I do wish the volume was louder than it was. The probably the only thing that bothered me was that it was hard to hear my baby. I would have to put my ear against the speaker on the back to hear anything other than a loud cry. Anyway, this was a purchase I am happy with and it’s a good camera to bring along during trips or family parties where your baby is sleeping somewhere other than their usual space. ... show more

EDIT: It is December 29th, we purchased this in March and now it is officially dead. It won't turn on. We were so spoiled with our Angelcare monitor, when it died we thought we'd just get something cheaper and hope that it would get us through until the napping stage was over and our daughter was in a big girl bed. We made the wrong choice. Also, we really didn't like that it didn't have a two-way microphone so we could talk to her, as I'm looking on here I'm seeing tons of monitors at the same price point and they all have it, along with other features, so why doesn't this one? Whatever. Definitely staying away from this brand though! So when our really amazing Angelcare monitor died, we needed a replacement, but our daughter is three and we didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on something that we, hopefully, wouldn't be using that much longer. So I got online and I *thought* I was getting a decent one for the price. I was wrong. My biggest issue is that when it goes from daytime to dusk, the monitor goes completely black, for HOURS. You can hear her but that's it. Just blackness. Same thing at sunrise. Blackness. It can't handle the change in lighting. So if you have a child that naps, or sleeps through sunrise or sunset then look elsewhere. In the winter where I live it gets dark as early as 4pm and the sun rises in the summer at 5am. So if you have these problems please don't buy this or you'll be staring at blackness trying to figure out what the heck happened like we were. And, in all honesty, the picture quality is crap anyway but like I said, we didn't need anything special but this was just horrible. So horrible. ... show more

I’ve had it for about a month, and do love the simplicity of this camera. It’s nice that it isn’t connected to WiFi, and I like the idea that I can connect multiple cameras to one parent unit. I haven’t used Eco mode personally, but my husband said it took a lot for it to actually detect the baby fussing and crying. At one point he could hear her crying upstairs from downstairs before the monitor turned on. I also don’t use the timers, but accidentally tuned it on once and the beeping seems like it would be great for that purpose! I will say, it tends to glitch and freeze fairly often. The monitor will either go black, or will get black and white lines and squares all over the screen and the audio will go out. It usually returns after a few seconds, but still is frustrating at times. It has also started disconnecting randomly but usually reconnects quickly. The furthest away I am is downstairs which is maybe 30 feet away through the floor. Even on the lowest setting the screen is bright at night when I’m sleeping so I usually put it face down on my nightstand. But for the price it seems to do the job fairly well otherwise. ... show more
