  • Great device to give you peace of mind
Style: Mint
I use this every night & I love it! I love how it has a sock for left or right foot & 2 different sizes depending on their weight. It alerts you right away if the sock is not placed right or if it detected something abnormal. It detects heart rate, oxygen, sleeping light or deep or if they’re awake or active. It met my expectations ... show more

  • Helped my anxiety and I love being able to track my babies sleep patterns
Style: Rose
WE LOVE THIS SOCK!! As a FTM I was sooo anxious and paranoid about her sleep so when my husband found this sock we ordered it right away and now we have used it every single night since she was about 3 months old. It’s completely a part of our bedtime routine. The accuracy is pretty spot on with maybe a second or two delay when it comes to reading her heart beat. And I always know by looking at the app if she is about to wake up from monitoring any elevated heart rate and then I’m able to rush in the room and get her back to deep sleep before she has even fully waken up. It’s also helped us track her sleep in terms of how long she will sleep in one stretch depending on how active we are that day, and I feel like it has allowed us to plan out activities during the day that help her sleep better at night, or avoid her becoming overtired, etc. I know some reviews had issues with connectivity but we haven’t really had that, maybe once or twice the app disconnected from the sock but it fixed itself pretty quickly. I would definitely recommend this for any first time parents, it just provides some much needed peace of mind and if you are like us and love to look at data (lol) and want to make sure your baby is getting enough restful sleep, this has been a real game changer for us. ... show more

  • Must buy for peace of mind !!
Style: Mint
This sock has brought so much peace to me during the newborn trenches. There would be times I would be tired from having 2 other toddlers and this gave me a peace of mind of sleeping and resting. I know it’s pricey but worth it. You can use after pay through the app to help you pay in installments. Otherwise the app is straight forward on how to install. I need the outlet and bassinet right next to each other so I haven’t had any issues with connectivity, I leave the sock charging through the day and it last battery all night and I left with a good amount remaining. The app also shows the heart rate and oxygen while sleeping so you can go back and see otherwise, it pretty loud to wake you up when the baby is kicking and moving. Thankfully haven’t had any other alert beside sock placement issue. ... show more

  • It works, but only for a year
Style: Green
tl;dr The device provides peace of mind when it works, but seems to be built to only last a year as we've had two of them that stopped working between 11-12 months which is also the limit on their warranty. We just can't afford to buy a $300 device for every kid so we won't be buying another one. PROS: - Helpful data that gives peace of mind that your baby is okay - Vitals can give you early signs that your baby is getting sick or recovering from sickness CONS: - Only last 11-12 months (we've had this happen with two socks) - Strict warranty, if you contact them about an issue after 12 months of purchasing they will not help you - App has some bugs and navigating the app can be confusing We purchased the original Smart Sock from Owlet for our first child. The sock and the app worked great, providing helpful vitals data that gave us peace of mind. When the company got into hot water with the FDA over their original Smart Sock, our sock which had worked perfectly for almost a year suddenly stopped working. It would no longer connect to the Owlet Care app. When we contacted support they said that our sock was outside the 12 month warranty (Though it stopped working before that. Buyer beware, if you have any issues at all with this sock before 12 months, contact the company immediately or they will not work with you). We hoped that this was a fluke with their original device and the trouble they got into with the FDA over portraying it as a medical device. So with our second child we decided to try it again and bought their new Dream Sock. The device itself worked just as well as the first one. They also had a new app that was more confusing and less helpful, but overall the system still provided peace of mind. When our second child was around 11 months the system started having trouble. It would constantly give us Yellow warnings but when we would check on our baby everything was fine. We tried adjusting the sock placement, resetting it with the base station, cleaning it, everything. Eventually the sock stopped sending information to the base station at all. The app would show that it was connected to the sock, but no vital information would come through. When we finally decided it was time to contact Owlet about this, we were just over the 12 month warranty window and they refused to fix or replace the device. Overall, while we love the functionality and peace of mind it gives us, it's too expensive of a device to only last a year. If you're planning to have multiple kids, expect that you'll have to buy a new one for each child. I see other reviews mention a similar experience so I know we're not alone. ... show more

  • Peace of mind, preferred over Nannit
Style: Mint
I am a high anxiety mom. This gives me some peace of mind! I still check on my baby regularly (okay a lot), but this allows me to get some sleep knowing that he is being monitored! We bought this and the Nannit to try. I like the owlet better than Nannit because the sock can be used throughout the house whereas with the Nannit baby needs to be under the camera for it to work. You do not need to have the owlet camera for the sock to work, though I do recommend it! I also like that this tells baby’s heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and quality of sleep (light, deep, awake). The Nannit only counts baby’s breaths per min. It’s fairly easy to use and get set up! Sometimes it disconnects from our WiFi, but not often and that is probably more an issue with our WiFi. I would love for it to have a back up mode though if wifi goes out! The sock is soft and easy to put on. Multiple sizes come with it, look on the inside of the sock for sizing and left/right foot. I will say though that when we initially tried it our baby was 5.5 pounds, and it did not fit well. It alerted us that it was having trouble getting readings. After our baby put on a little weight it worked great! ... show more

  • For such an expensive item you wouldn’t expect a subscription.
Style: Blue
I’m not happy with the fact a subscription is offered for all services since this item is so expensive, the connection length isn’t super far. If I go to the restroom about 20 ft from the base station, with my son, it will constantly alert about lost signal. Helps me keep a peace of mind while I sleep and he sleeps, it works fairly well. I dislike the “night sleep schedule,” because my son is only a month old and doesn’t actually have a schedule yet. ... show more
