What's the difference? I purchased both-- the VMH300 is on sale for $60 while the VMHi300 is $100. Physically they look 100% identical. The boxes are different with the VMHi300 in a cardboard box while the VMH is in a box with full color graphics--like what you'd see if you purchased from a retail store. - Both units use the same power: on low, with heat dial on max--both units use 700-720 W. - Both units look IDENTICAL - The cheaper VMH300 has a fan in the front and a heater coil behind it. The VMHi300 has a fan in the back and a heater coil in the front. They both sound the same but the VMHi300 seems like it might be more reliable since the hot air isn't heating up the fan motor... The fan is constant and the low/high only changes the heat produced by the coil. I like the fan although I highly doubt the air is being pushed very far as shown in the diagrams. The noise level is quite low and sounds like a white noise with no harsh frequencies. I prefer the manual controls since I use it with a smart plug to control it remotely. ... show more

I was looking forward to using this heater. We've had good Vornado heaters in the past, and I really liked the industrial design of this one. Unfortunately, it produced almost no heat, even on the highest settings. The air coming out was barely warm 2 inches from the front of the heater, so it certainly didn't warm up our entire bathroom. When I got this thing the plastic nut that holds the tip of the fan on was not tight and fell right off. Had to take the whole heater apart and then screw the fan on. This ran for about 10 seconds making a weird noise then found out it was the fan falling off. Besides this lapse and build quality it's a pretty nice heater for sure. ... show more

I bought this heater to warm up a separate workshop room, about 250 sq ft. The heater is able to heat up the space in a few hours which is acceptable. However I am disappointed with the thermostat knob. My idea was to keep the room at a "safe" temperature of 50F when no one is there and warm it up to 65F or so when I am using the room. However even at just above the lowest knob setting, the thermostat doesn't seem to turn off the heater and the room temperature is at 63F. So it seems like the temperature control does not work or if it does the temperature range is not suitable. ... show more

So the Amazon product description is not accurate. There is no digital readout or remote. Yes and its still VMHi no different than VMH. Find out HMH300 is no longer made. Digital with remote is on the MMHi600. But this is what I wanted as the other Vornado fans I have are digital and cannot work using a smart switch. This one does. Like the others the fan is constant, quiet and so very productive. if you are looing for a fan that has a variable fan that Blows hot air, this is not it. This unit circulates the air continuously and the heat stays on so long as it has not sensed the temp setting you have set. I love these whole room heaters. We picked this to avoid the plastic of other Vornados and most small heaters but ironically this took a really long time to stop smelling (and still does). It is very quiet but takes a while to warm up (and warm up to). Should have gone for the other Vornado which has much better reviews (but not all metal). Oh well. It also doesn't stop when you pick it up. Only when you tilt it. ... show more
