The media could not be loaded. I'm updating my review since I sent the defective product back to Amazon and the new heater fan (same model) doesn't make the same medium-loud buzzing noise. I don't know if this is a common issue for the product or it was damaged in shipping or something else. I'm removing 1 star for the hassle of having to return the item and the price is higher than the more basic models that don't have a display, better thermostat or fan-only mode. However the heater fan seems to do a pretty good job. It has both low and high heating modes and a fan-only mode. The thermostat is a bit confusing since it doesn't always turn off the heater, even when the temperature is a few degrees higher than the thermostat set point temperature (but it does turn off eventually if you let it run long enough). There is also a 1-hour timer mode which might come in handy in the right circumstances. The bump/tip detection turns off the heater for safety in that circumstance. Overall it's a decent unit when you have one that works correctly out of the box and the second one I got is similarly quiet to the other heater fans I have from other brands (unlike the first). ... show more

It is cute, tiny, and relatively quiet. And I can now sit in my living room without having on a housecoat or sweater beneath a throw blanket. However, my condo has a wall of windows through which cold air comes. This space heater will not give me the option of being "toasty". I have it on the high heat and fan setting, and it is just 'okay'. It is not as warm as I would like in this room to enjoy watching tv. ... show more

I can't even tell you how much I hate Vornado. They have the worst quality control standards in manufacturing. I have been purchasing Vornado space heaters since around 2010, and have experienced nothing but problems with them, particularly rattling sounds from the fan drive. The most I have ever been able to get from a single unit was about two seasons. I just recently had two delivered from AP and the one in the living room became defective after only one week. The fan died while running on low, sometime in the early morning hours and had to be unplugged to reset the unit before operating again. I kept resetting it, until it just simply died. The one in the bedroom seems to be okay, for now. I've also had problems with a unit that would not shut off no matter how hot the room would get, or it would shut off prematurely, suggesting an issue with the thermostat and it, too died. It's such a shame, because when they actually work, they work great. The gentle, soft heat heats up more quickly than any electric space heater I have ever used, which is why I have kept trying, but no more. Air fans, also give off a rattling sound as well. Vornado has no quality control at all. Finally giving up. Never again. ... show more

We bought three of them this winter to put in separate rooms to reduce our furnace thermostat setting given the cost of propane in our area. One of them completely failed to operate in a month. The company did not respond after we contacted Amazon. After a few days, Amazon sent us a new one and had us return the original. The other two have worked fine. For reference, they operated about 8 hours a day on a thermostat setting (not continuous) for the last five months. Update, as of October 2022, another one of the original three failed. ... show more
