The cord is solid, high-quality, but the idea of a 6-20R plug is limiting use to a dedicated 20Amp outlet. This adapter allows the use of a NEMA 6-20R device with a 15Amp circuit. This should be approached with caution and knowledge. Know the load that you are using and what other devices are on the same circuit. Best case scenario is this works fine or trips the circuit breaker, but if the draw is too much and the wiring is inadequate, the results could be tragic. I got this to use with a 13.2 Amp load, all wiring is 12ga with 20A breakers, just doesn't have the correct outlets.     • Great for equipment with 20 amp plugs
This is a great adapter but be sure your circuit is set up to handle the 20 amps that the female side of the plug usually is designed for. I only wish they would have made the female end universal for both 20 amp and standard 5-15R household plugs. Also seems a bit pricey for its size.

    • Ordered the wrong plug.
I ordered this to use as an adapter for my tanning bed plug. I obviously looked at the female plug wrong as it doesn't fit. I gave it 5 stars since the plugs and cord are heavy duty and should handle the power load. No fault of the manufacturer that I made a mistake.

I use this adapter to be able to use my 16 amp L1/L2 EV charger at L1 (120V). My EV charger has a NEMA 6-20 plug, which plugs into a 240V outlet. With this adapter, I can plug it into a regular household outlet and charge at 120V. If you have an EV charger with a NEMA 6-20 plug, check first to see if it is rated for 120V (or lower). If so, you should be able to use this for L1 charging. ... show more

Cord is really stiff in the cold and is only 14AWG so definitely underrated for hooking up a 20AMP device. If you need an adapter to do some testing or lower amperage uses, this would be ok.

    • Just don't trip your breaker
It can be annoying to have a DEMA 20 plug, but no NEMA 20 outlet, but as long as you know the wiring is rated for your use case, this should do the trick. Definitely falls under "dangerous in the wrong hands" though, but not near as bad as something like a backfeed cable. If you know what a backfeed cable is without googling, and why they're dangerous, you're probably responsible enough for this, though. ... show more

I ordered this thinking I could use it as a 15 amp adapter for 20 amp cable that I use for my travel trailer. It turns out that I needed a 5-20, not a 6-20. My mistake, not the supplier's mistake. The construction seems solid and I don't think it will have any issues with a 15 amp circuit. Unfortunately, I can't comment on how well it actually handles the power since I do not have a way to plug it in. ... show more
