  • Easy Install, Awesome Looks, And Great Sound
From the pictures I was a little dubious of the effect this CAI would have on my 95 GMC 5.7. When we opened the box and took out the air box and tube we were very surprised; this is a large well made product. The air tube and filter are huge. Installation was easy and most of it was done by my 16 year old son. All of the pieces fit perfect. On our first test drive it was immediately obvious that the truck had more power and felt lighter. The engine sounds strong and solid, no more anemic gasping from the throttle body. If the increased airflow is any indication of gas mileage improvement its an added bonus. Great product Volant! ... show more

  • Pretty good
Product bolt holes all lined up a fit perfect with my 93 chevy silverado. The only only problems I had were the gaskets, seals, and heat. The gasket on the tbi its self didn't go on right and left gaps around it. and the seals for around the filter box had gaps in them aswell after putting the pipe in. I also wrapped the intake in some cool tape to reflect the heat since this product is all black, not a big deal. But other than that it worked well even with my tbi spacer. ... show more

  • 1994 GMC K2500 5.7L TBI-Fits like a glove
This kit took about 10 min or less to install. Everything I needed was included on the box. The provided directions were clearly written. I didn't have any problems with fitment as one reviewer mentioned, my truck also isn't equipped with factory air. As far as performance goes, I've noticed a slight difference mid-range. At the very least this intake kit certainly cleans up the engine bay. The intake works well with the TBI mod that is popular on these GMT-400 trucks because it provides ample clearance for the distributor cap. The closed air filter box of this kit is much better than the K&N version which uses an open air filter box that just draws in the hot air from the engine compartment. The quality is much better as well, the air box mounts to the factory holes in the truck's inner fender well. ... show more

  • Low quality for the price.
For the cost, it is disappointing. I actually really like it from a cosmetic standpoint but the manufacturing quality is very low. All of the cut edges are jagged and the crimped rubber seal does not fit as a result. I had to use the rubber bushings from a strut mount to raise the box enough for the tube to fit straight into the box and I had to use self tappers to keep the crimped rubber seal in place. ... show more

  • Bolted up really nicer and snug as most people would like. Filter came oiled and clean
I put this on a 1995 chevy siverado with a 5.7. Bolted up really nicer and snug as most people would like. Filter came oiled and clean, had it installed in about thirty min. This cold air intake really helped clean up the throttle response and mid to high rpm shifting. I have oversize tires and stock gearing. Before putting this on it was a real slug off the line and almost seemed to fall on its face. And after install it feels like a totally different truck. it really helped with low end tork especially with my big tires. As for sound, theres no whistling cab noise like the similar K&N Filter. I dont know how the fuel economy will be helped due to the fact ive only ran a half tank through it. I really like this product. ... show more

  • Extra fitment work needed
I thought this was going to be a quick swap from the original setup, but I was wrong. I purchased this product for my 91 C1500 5.7 TBI after reading several positive reviews. 1- I had to shim up the filter box from underneath to be aligned with the fender air supply hole due to it being .5” lower when bolted to the fender well. 2- The filter box stops about 1” short of the fender supply hole so I had to fab up some insulation around the gap. 3- There is no way to permanently affix the rubber insulation strip to the 6” plenum hole in the filter box. It just pops out of place when sliding the plenum into the hole. 4- With the insulation strip in place around the 6” plenum, the air filter couldn’t fit into the filter box without being squished and disfigured. When installed on the plenum, there is barely any clearance around the filter for air entering the filter box from the fender supply hole. Instead, I removed the rubber insulation strip from the 6” plenum hole, stuck the exit side of the filter through the hole and clamped it into place outside the filter box. 5- The plexiglass cover doesn’t sit flush to the filter box, leaving a small gap toward the middle on all sides. I will have to fab a thicker seal to stop hot air from being drawn in. 6- The knurled hold-down knob would not mate up with the supplied throttle body stud. I had to undo a lot of work to replace the new stud and knob with the original stud and wing nut. Since the original stud is a little longer, I had to use more washers under the wing nut to ensure the plenum was firmly in place on the throttle body. 7- The supplied rubber hose doesn’t mate up to the valve cover vent hose hole. I needed to cut a piece of the original equipment to keep the new hose in place In the end, it looks good and it was still a bargain, but my experience so far hasn’t inspired a lot of confidence in the rewards. ... show more

  • Great product. Sounds good too.
I really like this product. It looks great. Pretty easy to install and better price point. However. I wish they provided a way to secure the box under the hood. I was able to fabricate something so it worked for me.

  • nor will I recommend Volant to anyone else
Absolutely atrocious. I was very excited to recieve this product. But the quality is awful. The box is too tall, and causes hood clearance problems, which resulted in the portion that sits on the throttle body itself to sit all crooked. All-in-All just shoddy manufacturing. Add to the fact that there is no customer service. I called five times in five days, all at different hours of the day as well, and the phone just continued to ring. I will never buy from Volant again, nor will I recommend Volant to anyone else... ... show more
