Update: Thermostat stopped working correctly after about 2 1/2 months. Contacted company via email and the problem was resolved. Good company. Heats tent quickly and the temp probe works nicely; other reviews had me worried about it causing excessive on/off cycles. I wish that there was more installation options - maybe outside of the tent with the warm air blowing into a vent.

After ordering 2 heaters for a greenhouse that they should have been able to handle and couldn't I ordered this little guy. Well let me tell you it puts out big heat, all the great features that you want such as a thermostat, waterproof etc for cheaper than the others and I'm very very happy with it. 12/27/22 Here's an update after a massive storm we had the thermostat on this heater does not work at all it's terrible. But the heater was the only reason I didn't lose any plants because it's a workhorse. So I use the Japanese thermostat off the other terrible heaters. And that seemed to solve the problem

Instructions say to keep the temperature dial set at "Max" and to never adjust to any other setting. Okey Dokey! At max setting this thing does not put out very much heat, it certainly looks the part ...looks like an industrial heater w/ it's bazooka can styling. The heat unit I paid $40 at Target works so much better. This is garbage. I bought as a second room heater for another room in our house, you can feel the heat if you stand about 1 foot in front of it. --- UPDATE This thing could have caught my house on fire. Using it in a small room had it on for 15minutes and smoke started coming out of it. It tripped the house fuse panel (thankfully). When I went to unplug it the chord was extremely hot. I have since thrown this piece of garbage into the trash. How this is being sold on Amazon is beyond me. THIS IS AN EXTREME FIRE HAZARD. NOT UL LISTED EITHER.

This has kept my greenhouse warm for well over a month. We live in the PNW when temps drop low durning the evening. My house plants have stayed alive thus far. I even have a tomato coming in on a tomato plant IN DECEMBER!

This is a very consistent heat source that there are a few drawbacks. I have an 8 ft x 10 ft by 4 ft greenhouse that houses dwarf citrus trees. I live in zone 7 which means that in the next week or so by December 1st we're going to get snow and we'll have the snow all the way through March. Getting the greenhouse a dedicated heater was necessary to make sure that all of the fruit trees had consistent heat. However, this particular heater does not plug into an extension cord, not even heavy duty orange extension cords. After one day of use the extension cord practically melted on the pavement and was hot all the way to the wall. It also will not plug in into any digital thermometer reader. So the setup that I had where the orange extension cord came from the wall into the digital thermometer reader and the heater plugged into the digital thermometer reader everything became super super hot. So the digital reader now has to be independent which affects the ability for it to regulate the heat since the digital thermometer readers will turn the heater on and off as necessary to keep the temperature accurate. Additionly because this unit has to plug directly into a wall socket the length of cord is far too short and there's no way to extend it without risk of fire. It's able to stay on throughout the entire night or 24 hours a day to keep the temperature up but in many ways this is no different than the indoor space heater that it replaced. So my recommendations to the manufacturers are to make the cord longer and to find a way that it can be compatible with a digital thermometer reader or state in the information that it is not compatible with any other item plugged up to it. This is my reason for rating at a 2 because while it does work and can stay on 24 hours a day, even at a set temperature which only says hotter or colder, and indoor space heater can be set to say 75 or 80 and there's no risk of burning the house down if it's plugged into an extension cord. So it's two points for arriving on time and working but all in all I'm not overly happy and considering putting the indoor space heater back into the greenhouse since I can set that for an actual temperature and it will turn itself off and on when it's in that temperature, and it won't burn the house down.
