I purchased wrong size, but on the bright side I didn't have to cut them since my egg boxes were larger than these mats. Sadly, as I was putting on the velcro onto the backs of these I noticed upon turning them over shedding, more than I feel there should have been but I never cut them. They are very thin, had hoped they would fluff up after being out of package but 2nd week in use and that hasn't happened, but I gave 4 stars because 1: Chickens adapted to it fast/same day - first time they have been on anything but shavings. 2: Shedding of the grass stopped after day 3, and still plenty of fake grass. 3: The chickens have not been able to destroy it after 2 weeks, they're still working on it, but they have not been successful - 12 hens lol. These were used to create centerpieces for a golf tournament. They do look good however, they have a strong odor to them. They needed to be aired out prior to use. In addition to that the grass was mushed a bit so I ended up using a bristle brush to comb the grass blades in the opposite direction to get them to stand up a bit. ... show more

I bought these squares to use as centerpieces for a football team dinner. They looked great! They did need a little fluffing out of the package & some “grass” came out in that process but nothing unexpected. They have a sturdy plastic backing & are not flimsy like a cut piece of astroturf.
