Can it be used for dirt bikes? If your bike has 4.5"" of ground clearance and weighs under 1500 lbs — yes. That covers most dirt bikes, cruisers, sport bikes, and ATVs. If you're unsure, grab a tape measure and check the lowest point under your bike. Is it stable? Center the jack under your bike, then use the 2 included tie-down straps. They keep it vertical — even when you're torquing. The 3-position lock gives you the height, the straps give you the stability. Use both, and it's rock-solid. Does it require assembly? Yes — install the hydraulic system, tighten bolts, then attach the pedal and handle. Straightforward. Note: Bolts don't need to be gorilla-tight. Hand-tighten plus a quarter turn is plenty — no need to overdo it. Does it require maintenance? Before first use: Press the foot pedal 5–6 times with no load to purge trapped air from the hydraulic system. This one step prevents most seepage issues.
