This was not bought for it's intended purpose. My pool filter pump went out and I would not be able to get anyone to come look at it for a week, so I needed something to keep the water moving and prevent algae forming in the Texas heat. This thing is listed as 6 lbs but it is at most 2 lbs, so very easy to push into the middle along the pool floor and, let me tell you, it REALLY moves some water. 6ft down in a huge pool and the water is spouting at the surface forming small waves to each end of it. If I ever need to empty my pool, I doubt it'll take long with this. Great quality and excellent value for money. ... show more

is it really only using 175W? I am really unsure? but its a powerful pump for my 1200g pond. I am 100% happy. only wish it uses 0W as I am trying to go fully solar on the power consumption for my pond.
