It was a bit of a pain to put the strap under the bed. Instructions are confusing. If you have a bed skirt, this won't work. I have a bed skirt so the black strap hangs over the side of my aqua bed skirt. You have to tighten the strap every once in a while to make sure it is secure. So far, getting out of bed is much easier for my mom. The rail moves a bit when she grabs it but does not come loose. She isn't even 5' and weighs about 110. I don't know if it would work for someone heavy. I couldn't find another product out there that I liked better. Most of them are too bulky, ugly, and big. I would buy it again and may purchase another one for the other bed. ... show more

This is a nice elderly assist handle for my wife. It is positioned almost at head level, enough for her to grab and help push up to a sitting position. We have a king size bed so we didn't need the strap which attaches to the bed frame. There is no way my wife could push the rail out of the present position. It is easy to assemble, just make sure to read directions. I slid the rail under the mattress and box spring and was surprised as to how sturdy it is! I would recommend this railing to anyone.
