Elderly mother approved

My elderly mother found her old adjustable bed was not working for her. She tried a flatbed and it did not work for her either. She had difficulty getting in and out. After research and my mother agreeing to try this bed, I ordered it. I also ordered a 12" foam mattress from Amazon at the same time for her. It was put together and she slept on it for a few nights. She liked that at 5'4", 180 pounds she was able to sit on the bed with a 12" foam mattress easily. She found that the built-in side rails prevented her from falling out of bed one night. This was something that she had been worrying about having a twin bed instead of a full one. However, her new senior apartment did not have room for a full bed. She liked the ease of use and that it was a regular twin and not a twin XL due to her being short. She was able to make the bed on her own easily. This helps with her mental health as she has gotten older, she is not able to be as independent as she used to be. She stated that she is getting wonderful sleep. She liked the fact it comes with a side pocket, but with the 12" mattress, it needs to have velcro or ties because it does not stay on the side rail when the head of the bed moves up, it pops off the side pocket. However, after we adjust it, she will be able to keep her cellphone charging with the built-in USB in it and her remote for the bed. That way her phone is handy if she needs assistance or for an emergency. She is a proud woman and needs to feel like she has more control over herself. She likes that it does not look like a hospital bed as we were thinking that we might have to purchase her one. She stated that it is approved by a young 80+ woman. ... show more

Mattress slips - fall hazard

We bought this in August of 2024 for my husband’s recovery from knee replacement surgery and I am currently using it for my own knee replacement. Overall it is comfortable and does the job well with one big warning for customers to watch out for: remember to put up the small railing at the base of the bed. It folds down so you might not notice it. My husband missed it when putting the bed together this time. W/o it, every time you raise the head of the bed, the mattress slips off the end a bit. This can become a substantial overhang and a clear fall risk. I went to sit near the end of the bed and ended up on the floor. Two weeks after a knee replacement, this could have been devastating. Received this adjustable bed and it came in handy for my mom who is disabled. Easy set up. My mom loves it. If she doesn't want to get out of bed she can stay safely and watch her favorite shows. No complaints. Plus we didn't want a bed that looked like she was in a hospital or Nursing facility.

Nice neough bed frame, but the mattress slides off the end...

The bed works fine and is useful with its remote control feature for various positions, and the USB port for charging a phone etc. Hoverever, with a memory foam matress added, which is quite heavy, the mattress simply slides off the foot end, even with the small flimsy bar that is supposed to hold it in place. The only negative is the bed rails are not high enough. About even with top of mattress and cannot use. Could have started my house on fire! Terrible customer service.

We purchased this bed for my FIL. After a week we noticed the bed would pause when we moved it up and down and started to smell like fire. Once we looked we noticed the bed was sparking and shorting out. I requested a refund and they accepted. They wanted me to pay for shipping. So at that point I decided to purchase from a different company, but I had to get this bed refunded. Getting in touch with their customer service was a long process and then once there and speaking with someone there was a huge language barrier. He kept repeating odd lines and putting me on lengthy holds. About 2 hours later he said he would submit my request for a review. The fact that it wasn’t a “oh ok so glad your FIL is ok and we didn’t have to pay for you a new house! Here is your return label and refund”, was frustrating enough, but then we had to wait a week for the return label lug the heavy bed to fed ex with a return label I had to fight for and then wait a week again only to find out they are charging a restocking fee! Restocking to where?! The dump? This is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced with Amazon and one of its 3rd party companies.
