I bought this bike to ride to the park with my dog and save gas. It shifts well and quieter than 2 other electric bikes. I had a problem with the seat post lock. When I loosened it, it came apart and had a hard time getting it back together. I almost bought a new one. Also the screws that attach the basket are cheaply made and won’t thread so replaced them. I am a 74 yr old woman and was able to assemble it by myself. I watched the video. The seat isn’t soft enough for me so will get a memory foam one, but if I were younger it probably would be fine. I was pleasantly surprised that there are options to change on the settings which I haven’t tried yet but need to brighten up the screen. My other bikes surged abruptly at first but this one doesn’t which I really like. Easy does it! You can adjust that as well. The rear carrier has a spring to hold items down. The security alarm only goes off when I turn it on and the remote doesn’t activate but don’t think I would use it. I am 5’11 and it fits well and I like the hand grips and handle bars. As with any new piece of equipment, it took me a little while to get use to the operation and setup of this ebike. I'll have to say that Customer Service and Tech Support service has been great and quick in responding to my questions. From what I've learned in these few short days, this bike is well built and performs very well on the trail. My only complaint now is that the bike is a bit tall for my 5'0" wife and she has a little trouble getting up on the seat. So far, she has been able to work around this issue. I'm the mom that can put most ikea furniture together in nothing flat. This bike install took me a bit longer than I expected (2hours). Mostly because my brake pad is rubbing on the front wheel that I installed. My fender also needed adjusting to not rub on the tire. (This will not be a verified purchase because my husband bought it on his account.) I‘m not a bike expert, I’ve never had an e-bike before, and I’ve only had this one a few days. However, I’m doing a review because the reviews so far aren’t very detailed and one of them has misinformation in it. I got the cream-colored bike with brown accessories, the vintage-looking plastic basket, and the lower step-in (probably phrased that wrong). It’s very cute; it has a more fifties, upright rider look, instead of a rider-leaning-forward, racing look. My husband’s bike cost 3x as much at a bike store, and he says mine has some features his doesn’t. This bike has a built-in headlight, horn, and alarm system. It has 3 modes: you can ride it as a regular bike with no electrical assist, with pedal assist, or with the throttle only and zero pedaling. The throttle was a pleasant surprise: one review says there’s no pedal-free mode so we were not expecting a throttle. The throttle is a small lever by your right thumb; push down and go, like it’s a motorbike. Fun. I’m still figuring out the pedal assist. We went for a ride yesterday and I thought the pedal assist was not working, although I had no trouble keeping up with my husband because I used the throttle any time I fell behind or went up a hill. Came home and read the manual. I had the assist set on “1,” and I think I was going too fast for it to kick in. If you are going over a certain speed, pedal assist won’t bother to help you. If I turn it up to a 2 or 3, it should kick in at the speed I was going. On previous rides I did feel the boost from pedal assist set on 1, but that was just around the neighborhood and I was going slower. Yesterday was the first ride on a trail (paved). So, that’s my review so far. I wouldn’t want someone to avoid ordering this bike because it doesn’t have a throttle-only mode; it does have one. My only complaint is the hard seat, which I plan to switch out for the gel seat on my old bike. (Regarding assembly, my husband did that and didn’t have any trouble that I know of.) ... show more
