  • Virbac C.E.T.® Oral Hygiene Kit for Dogs
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I bought this for my 2 month old Chihuahua to begin a tooth brushing routine with her. This toothpaste came with a finger brush, as well as a long toothbrush that has a small brush on one end and a larger brush on the other end. I will probably never use either the finger brush or the larger brush as my Chihuahua is small, but that's okay. I followed the suggestion of first showing my dog the toothbrush and letting her sniff it so that she could become familiar with it. I also followed the suggestion to place a small amount of the toothpaste on the tip of the finger to let her taste it, again so that she could become familiar with it. It is now day 5 of me brushing her teeth and at first she was a bit hesitant and combative, but as the days went on she became more accustomed to it making it easier to brush her teeth. This toothpaste is a little pricey, but it seems to be worth it as my dog has no problem with the taste and given my dog's small size, I believe that it will be a good long while before the toothpaste is finished. I recommend this product to anyone looking for a quality toothpaste and brushing tools for their dog. ... show more

  • Good enough (I need to improve my brushing skills)
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
My cats love the taste of the toothpaste but not the overall experience of brushing teeth 😅 I used the smaller brush for them.

  • Great Starter Kit - Makes Dog Dental Care Easier Great Starter Kit - Makes Dog Dental Care Easier
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
This is a good starter kit if you’re trying to get into brushing your dog’s teeth. It comes with everything you need, and I like having both the regular toothbrush and the finger brush. The finger brush is helpful when your dog is still getting used to it. The poultry-flavored toothpaste seems to work well, and my dog didn’t mind it which makes the process easier. I can see how it is helping to whiten his teeth and remove any build up. The toothbrush design has good ergonomics as it is practical, and the longer handle helps reach back teeth without too much trouble. It has feels durable. It does take some patience at first, especially if your dog isn’t used to having their teeth brushed. But once you get into a routine it becomes easier. I think that this is a solid kit that’s simple, effective, and a good way to start building a regular dental routine for your dog. ... show more

  • Nice...if your cat likes it!
This product is often recommended by veterinarians as the go-to for feline dental care. I am pleased with the product in the fact that it does what it is supposed to. However- the fish flavor does not entice my kitties! Logan hates it and will scratch to get away, Orion tries to get away but tolerates it and Moony is always trying to meow the whole time like I just committed the ultimate kitty parent sin! Alas, I am a concerned pet parent so I continue to try! Especially since there aren't very many competitors on the market right now. What every kitty parent should know is that feline oral care is very important because your cat can get gingivitis which can lead to tooth loss and heart issues. Not to mention cavities that can eat at the base of the crown causing holes through the molars of the teeth. You may notice while brushing that kitty has calculus (plaque) by looking at the back upper and lower cheek teeth. It appears brown and hard. It will not come off with brushing and the cat will need to go to the veterinarian for dental cleaning. However, if you start on this program regularly you can help avoid this. Also a meat based wet diet will help with dental care as well. The product does come with your choice of weapon (lol). A slightly harder clear "finger brush" which I deem useless due to the size of the feline mouth, and the white little toothbrush that is about 2 1/2 inches long with a bent head. This works pretty well. You also get a large tube of toothpaste that I can see lasting awhile because all you need is a pea size dollop. What I would like to see by taking the "at home dental care" further is a toothbrush case and some kind of hands free disinfectant so the brush isn't just sitting in my medicine cabinet like it is now. Call me a germaphobe but cats mouths are extremely germy and I like the idea of having a ready to go sterilized brush for next use. Also, it would be nice to have a little stand or something of that nature so that when you are wrestling kitty the toothbrush doesn't get knocked off of a table and you have toothpaste everywhere. To work and create products for animals we must understand animals! All in all I will say that this product is pretty decent and worth the money. ... show more

  • Our dogs love the taste
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
Our three dogs love it and beg for it as a treat. It probably helped our 14+ year old Chihuahua bad breath and bad plaque. Had to put her under and spend $1400 at the Vet. It should help her maintain her white teeth now. The two younger dogs have good white teeth and we hope to maintain that going forward. The gel dog tooth paste we used before, the dogs didn't like it so we didn't use it often enough. ... show more

  • A great toothpaste my cats love and a toothbrush I love
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
(Please see an update at the end of my review.) I’ve used CET Virbac Toothpaste in the poultry flavor for more than a decade. I’ve never had a cat that didn’t love this flavor. It works well and makes toothbrushing much more tolerable for cats like mine who are used to having their teeth brushed. CET Virbac is a brand that many vets sell and recommend to clients, which is why I first started using its toothpaste and toothbrushes with my own cats. I would have a very hard time brushing their teeth without the help of this toothpaste! I have never liked silicone finger brushes, or any brush with silicone bristles, so I have no use for the finger toothbrush that’s included in this kit. The dual-head toothbrush in the kit, on the other hand, is one of my favorites for my cats’ teeth. I only use the smaller, compact side of the toothbrush for my cats’ little mouths. It’s very soft and has a low-profile that allows it to fit in the small space between a cat’s cheek and gums. Unfortunately, I haven’t yet found what I would call a ‘perfect’ cat toothbrush, and I think I’ve tried almost everything. Right now, I’m using two different toothbrushes on each of my cats to get the job done, this brush and the Nyanko Mind Up Cat Toothbrush, also sold on Amazon, which is quite tiny and allows me to get to areas in their mouths that I can’t quite reach with the CET Virbac brush. I’d tell anyone who might ask that brushing a pet’s teeth regularly really is worth the effort (for me it is, anyway). I would not recommend brushing an adult pet’s teeth without first having its mouth checked by a vet, though. Brushing could cause pain or even do some damage if there’s an existing dental issue. So please first check with your vet and get the go ahead before you start brushing. You can also get some great tips from your vet to make toothbrushing work for both you and your pet. Nobody has to get hurt, including the person doing the brushing! After checking with your vet, I think you’ll find CET Virbac products incredibly useful like I have for so many years. 🐱 Update: After writing my review I opened a recent purchase of one of these toothbrush and toothpaste kits. At a glance, everything looks identical. Sadly, the toothbrush has changed. The new toothbrush's bristles aren't as soft. I found the bristles to be a little too firm for my cat's mouth. So although I continue to use CET Virbac's poultry flavor toothpaste, I've stopped using the toothbrush that comes with this kit. I still use the Nyanko Mind Up Cat toothbrushes I mentioned in my original review, but I've replaced CET Virbac toothbrushes with Colgate Kids My First Toothbrush for babies 0-2 years. The bristles are soft and can be softened even more by soaking the head of the toothbrush for 30 seconds in a cup of hot water. CET Virbac, please go back to using the same soft bristles in your dual-head toothbrush that your customers loved! ... show more

  • Toothpaste is great, Toothbrush is dangerous Toothpaste is great, Toothbrush is dangerous
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
My dog loved the toothpaste flavor and was happy to get his teeth brushed for the first time! Beware! The toothbrush that came in the kit is dangerous. A few bristles got loose! If I didn't notice, my dog could have choked or swallowed them! I am complaining to the company.

  • Great toothpaste
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
My dogs have always liked this flavor and it works nice to keep the teeth clean. Was originally recommended by our veterinarian to use this brand.
