  • Super easy to install
would have given this 5 stars if it came with the high heat dump valve. Installs super easy. used 1" sharkbites on copper pipe to speed up the process. passed water test with flying colors.

  • Service is impossible to compete successfully
3 yr Update. In the last two months we have had two bad leaks from the before mentioned seals. The problem is that the leaks don’t show up until several days later after you think everything is good to go and then you find water on the floor. Their is no denying the effectiveness of the machine but if you can’t service it regularly with consistent success it is useless. I am sad to say we are now looking to change to another company’s purifier with more service friendly, consistent and reliable results. 2 year update. We are still very happy with the performance. Only two complaints have surfaced. 1- the crystal sleeve the bulb sits in is a serious pain to seal (we’ve had multiple leaks after crystal sleeve changes). Finally had a customer service rep tells us to tighten caps from top and bottom at the same time. 2- the price of replacement bulbs and crystal sleeves is very high. My wife and I remodeled a house built in 1944 and after two years and massive cost over-runs we finished the house and were ready to move in but water test prior to moving in showed Coliform bacteria. So we did research and completed a well sanitation process and re-tested and it still showed coliform bacteria so we did more research and purchased Viqua 410M and re-sanitized the well and this time all clear! State water quality lab said there was not even trace bacteria. The UV purifier was expensive but well worth it. One tip I really recommend buying the “M” model with the monitor that’s shows effectiveness other wise you really are just guessing at how well the system is working. Install was super easy. We did have to switch out water filter to a five micron from 20 micron. Good luck and I highly recommend the Viqua 410M ... show more

  • Very happy with this purchase...
Very happy with this purchase. I originally ordered the VH410 but changed my mind for the VH410M that includes the UV intensity meter. That along with an automatic shutoff solenoid in the event that the UV intensity goes to 50 or below gives us piece of mind. We never had a bacteria problem with our well water but the wife wanted the UV unit simply as a back up and so we don't have to pay to have our water tested every year as recommended. ... show more

  • A quality product that could benefit from some design refinements
This is a quality product for the most part but it does have some design issues that people need to be aware about. You need to follow the directions exactly and you need to have some plumbing skill to successfully install it...and I suspect many of the poor reviews are because people simply don't... The UV intensity monitor is NOT temperature compensated. If your water temperature is 40F or below, the UV intensity will fall below 50% even with a brand new lamp and this will trigger the aural alarm which will eventually shut off after the UV chamber subsequently warms the water up after the water stops running. The UV intensity alarm can be disabled for 12 hours at a time, but I consider this a poor substitute for temperature compensation. 12/29/2020 Update: I worked with Vigua Technical Support which enabled me to add temperature compensation and some other refinements to the controller. ... show more

  • works, except when water is moving through it!
works, except when water is moving through it! They suggested I get my water tested for clearness. That doesn’t make sense because the unit shines UV light through the water to the sensor with 100% transmission when it is stagnant. When I open the valve it drops to unsafe levels. if I send off a sample, it will be stagnant water ( sitting in a bottle ) and as a result will passed with flying colors as it does when sitting in this UV filter. We have this filter positioned after an RO filter. I tried it with and without the water going through the RO filter. It fails either way. maker won’t take it back and is out of ideas. my loss. ... show more

  • Good water system purifier
The Viqua system keeps our mountain spring water source safe for household use, including drinking water from the tap. It is not a problem to replace the ultra-violet bulb each year. The system includes a warning notice to replace the bulb in plenty of time to keep the water safe.
