After a positive coliform test on our well, our local Culligan man offered to install this unit for us (along with other stuff) for $9400. The line item cost for this Viqua unit was $2100. I decided to create a functionally equivalent system for about $2400 total (30 micron whole house sediment + water softener from Aquatell + Viqua 5 micron + UV + whole house carbon + all new PEX piping) and install it myself. I decided to mount a piece of OSB on the wall to behind the Viqua to make the installation more robust. The installation was straightforward. I had read that sometimes people damage the UV lamp while installing, but didn’t have any issues. The harness for the lamp only installs one way taking any guesswork out of the connection. Once the pipe was connected and 2 cups of bleach added to the sediment filter the system was up and running. After running the system for a week I sent a water sample in and the result was “pass” for coliform. While we’ve since shocked the well and tested it to pass coliform, it’s good to have this failsafe incase the well is ever positive in the future unbeknownst to us as we only test yearly. ... show more

After researching a number of systems I chose this one. Having the sediment filter and UV filter combined really made installation much easier. It also comes completely assembled. Easy to install and works great! Highly recommend.

Excellent system. Compact and almost instant improvement in water quality. We purchased to abate bacteria, but the filtration in conjunction with our water softener makes for a complete well water quality solution. Easy to operate. Basically set it and forget it for a year. We had our local well water drilling company that also sells this product do the install. Recommended. Done in under an hour. Highly recommended. Well worth the price. ... show more
