Wife decided bought this dog house for your desert tortoises. I was a little concerned with some of the bad reviews with packaging. But went ahead and ordered it because it is sold and ship by Amazon. The package came in pretty good condition. Only one small part of package is damaged. Assembly of the dog house is fast and simple. You do need a screw driver and a pliers(long nose is easier) for the assembly. It took probably less than 30 min from start to finish. Pro: 1. really easy to assemble. the only part I had to think about it is placing the metal hinges. Instruction is not too clear. 2. light enough that my wife can move it around in the backyard. 3. open top and removable floor panels for easy cleaning. Con: 1. only thing I question is the weather proofing. I am not sure how good is the water seal. Tortoises wastes stained the wood a little. I may have to reseal as recommended by other buyer. Overall we are happy with this dog house and wife is ready to buy another one for bigger tortoises. Even though the packaging was damaged through transport but wood only suffered a slight nick. I'm so proud of myself for putting this all together myself! It was just that easy, I'm really horrible. I needed help to put together a bookshelf and a headboard with shelves, but not this! Anyway, we've had an "el nino" year so some serious winds and rain and my dog has come into the house very dry despite being outside for hours while I work, so it must be keeping him comfy. The roof feels very good quality as does the wood throughout the house. It's raised up off the ground which I like because sometimes my patio floods and I don't have to worry about my dog sitting in a puddle. Would recommend. ... show more

    • Outdoor litter box enclosure
It's not bad, nicely designed, easy to put together, comes with all the hardware you need, and has pre-drilled holes to make it simple. The materials seem decent, bolts, screws, hinges. The top is covered in some sort of gravel where some small bits may shake loose initially. The wood itself leaves a lot to be desired as it's quite thin and brittle. One of the side edges has slight damage from where the lid scraped against it. The sides need to be squared up a bit so the lid sits properly once closed. One of the plastic feet broke off when wood splintered apart where it was screwed in because I dragged it rather than picking it up. It easily screwed back in a different position where the wood wasn't split. It gets a star knocked off for the material, but honestly, I'm not sure I could do better for cheaper. While it's supposed to be weatherproof out of the box, I added another coat of Rust-Oleum 207008 Marine Spar Varnish 1-Quart to every piece before I put it together since it will be exposed to rain. If you decide to do this, make sure you do it in a well ventilated area and give yourself extra time for it to dry and air out before letting your pets use it. I didn't get the TRIXIE Pet Products Plastic Door for Flat Roof Dog House, Large either but we'll see after the rainy season starts. As a dog house, I'd be a little skeptical about using this for a 50lb+ dog. I think it best to heed the other reviews if you have a bigger dog or one that likes to destroy things. As a litter box enclosure, it works great for this. It can fit a Nature's Miracle High Sided Litter Box and Litter Genie Plus Cat Litter Disposal System with Odor Free Pail System, Silver with room to spare. The hinges seem to be okay with frequent lifting, locks in place with a soft click (both hinges lock), and unlocks easily with a gentle tug. For those of you with big (or lots) of cats, the plastic mortar tub from Home Depot (similar to Maccourt At2606 26"x20"x6" Plastic Utility Tub ) will fit inside but there wouldn't be room for much else. ... show more

Was easy to build and came out looking lovely! Some wood pieces were a little chipped but didn’t bother me. Love how easy it opens and closes and doesn’t slam closed. Added a paw run inside for finishing touches and made it look even cuter!

Did not like the fact alot was broke and i have to take my time to pack it back in the box and send it back. Update.. Got a refund and ordered it again because I had already ordered the door flap that went to it and again come with messed up pieces.. would not recommend!

This isn’t very sturdy. The material is very thin and sounds super weak. I wanted this to last a long time but it may not. Cute tho and easy to assemble.

Assembled it myself, but I recommend an extra set of hands for the roof. Quality is alright for the $122 sale price. Will definitely be painting this to help with the elements. Instructions could use some better clarification, but I assemble stuff like this all the time so it was fine. Like the wood build as I can staple padding and insulation to the walls and floor. I really like that I can go through the roof to clean up the inside. Overall I’m very satisfied on first impressions. ... show more
