  • I like it I like it
I do like this espresso machine. It is more automated than my old one, and I generally like old things because they are often made well and last longer. Having said that, this new machine works well, looks good, and makes espresso that my wife and I think tastes good. We are not connoisseurs, but this is also not a professional-type machine. If you are very picky about your espresso and coffee drinks, then you most likely will be looking for a more expensive machine than this. The price at this time is $99.99, which seems pretty good to me. I did have to look at the instruction manual, and I would recommend that you look at it too, especially for the initial cleaning cycle recommendations. If you do the cleaning, then you should not have to worry about priming the machine. It will be primed during the cleaning. If you run the tank out of water, like I did, then you may have to prime the machine before you can make another shot. You can easily search how to do that if you don't already know. It makes two sizes of shots automatically, a 50 ml or 80 ml. It also does a cold brew, which I have not tried, and a steam function, which we also don't normally use. The steam function works fine, because I did turn it on during the initial cleaning, and it is easy to operate. I like the large size of the water tank. It is easy for me to access, easy to remove, and hold a very good amount of water. We use water filtered through a Berkey filter, then through a Zero Water filter. If you don't have a water filter to remove almost everything that's in the water, then I would recommend distilled water, so you don't get mineral buildup inside the machine. The plastic scoop/tamper works well. Even though it's plastic, it feels fairly sturdy. There's an area on top of the machine to keep your cups if you have enough room above the machine. I just keep the scoop/tamper on top of the machine. I have not shopped around for any comparable machines and have also not used another newer espresso machine in this price range, so I don't know exactly how it compares in price to other machines. It seems like a good price and a good value to me. After using it for the last few days and making a dozen or more shots with it, I have to say that I do like it, and I may end up keeping it long-term instead of the old machine. Check my video to see it in action. ... show more

  • Great Entry-Level Espresso Machine for Everyday Coffee Lovers
I've been using this machine for daily coffee drinks, and for the price, I'm genuinely impressed with what it delivers. It strikes a nice balance between affordability, ease of use, and quality results. The compact footprint is one of my favorite features. Counter space is always at a premium, and this machine doesn't dominate the kitchen while still offering features you'd expect from a larger espresso maker. It also looks surprisingly sleek and modern sitting on the counter. The controls are straightforward and beginner-friendly. After the initial cleaning cycle and setup, making espresso is simple. The machine heats quickly, pulls consistent shots, and produces a nice layer of crema. I'm not a professional barista, but the espresso is rich, smooth, and more than satisfying for my morning latte. The steam wand does a good job frothing milk for lattes and cappuccinos, although there is a bit of a learning curve if you're new to steaming milk. Once you get the hang of it, it produces creamy foam that elevates homemade coffee drinks considerably. I also appreciate the large removable water reservoir. It holds enough water that I'm not constantly refilling it, and cleanup is easy thanks to the removable drip tray and tank. This isn't a machine aimed at espresso purists who want endless customization and professional-level controls. It's designed for people who want good espresso at home without spending a fortune or dedicating half their countertop to a coffee setup. For that purpose, it performs exceptionally well and offers excellent value for the money. ... show more

  • I'm in Coffee HEAVEN, FORGET STARBUCKS!!
Honestly this expresso machine has exceeded my expectations in the best way. I bought it hoping to make decent coffee at home, but it has turned into one of the best little upgrades to my kitchen. Every cup it makes is smooth, rich, and flavorful, the kind of coffee that makes you pause for a second because it tastes that good. It really does feel like having a mini café on my counter. The espresso comes out bold with a nice layer of crema, and the flavor is consistent cup after cup. It doesn’t taste watered down or burnt. The machine heats up quickly and keeps the temperature steady. There’s no guessing, no weird fluctuations, and no bitter aftertaste. It’s reliable, which is something I really appreciate in a daily‑use appliance. The milk frother is surprisingly powerful for a compact machine. It creates creamy foam that works perfectly for lattes and cappuccinos. It’s easy to control, and the texture comes out smooth instead of bubbly or airy. It’s honestly impressive for the price point. One of my favorite things is how compact it is. It doesn’t take up much counter space, but it still feels solid and well‑built. The stainless steel finish gives it a clean, modern look that fits nicely with other appliances. It’s not silent, but it’s definitely quieter than many espresso machines. It’s a comfortable hum, nothing disruptive. Cleanup is quick. The drip tray slides out easily, the frother wipes clean, and the tank detaches without fuss. It’s low‑maintenance, which makes it easy to use every day. This machine is genuinely a delight to use. It makes a delicious cup of coffee, it’s easy to operate, and it looks great on the counter. ... show more

  • This is a nice machine, but it just falls short of perfection! This is a nice machine, but it just falls short of perfection!
To be honest, I'm really impressed with the performance of this unit, but it just falls short of perfection for a couple of reasons. The good. - For the price, I have zero complaints on build quality. The unit is mostly plastic, but clad with stainless on most touch points, which makes it look and feel much more premium than the price suggests. It is light, but has suction cups on the bottom that help stick it to your counter, with means it doesn't slide around so much when putting the portafilter in. The footprint is very small, and it's not too tall either. This machine really doesn't take up any more space than a typical drip coffee maker, so I'm confident it will fit in just about any kitchen. It really performs well for a device this size. The water tank is pretty generous, and should hold enough water for several shots before a refill is needed. It heats up in just about a minute or so, so it's quick to get going, and it with some dialing in, it produces good shots! I would highly recommend running a few "blank" shots to fully warm the machine, as this will greatly improve your espresso. For the price, this machine is quite capable. I do have some issues though---- This unit does not have a "manual" mode. I found this to be a real annoyance. It has two sizes of shots, one that pulls about 50ml of water through the machine, and one that pulls about 85g. I would have really preferred an additional option that allowed you to just pull as much water through the machine as you'd like. This is a necessary feature if you're aiming to dose your shots by weight with a scale, which is something I'd highly recommend. You can still do this by using the "double shot" mode and stopping it when you're done, but it's annoying. BUT, My biggest gripe with this machine it that from factory, it only includes a pressurized basket. That means by default, you can't use fresh ground coffee, as coffee ground to an espresso grind will likely choke the pressurized basket. Most decent machines include an "unpressurized" basket, this REALLY should have been included. You just can't make great espresso without fresh ground coffee, and you can't use that without an unpressurized basket. To make matters worse, since the portafilter doesn't have a spring to keep a standard unpressurized basket in, you'll also have to buy another 51mm portafilter as well if you wish to use a grinder. All together, that's another 20 dollar purchase just to use fresh ground coffee. That is basically a 20% price increase, when Viomi could have included a basket for 1 or 2 dollars. That's a MAJOR gripe imo. Overall, I think the machine is decent for the price, but it could have been a killer deal if it had a manual mode and an unpressurized basket. Overall, I'd still recommend it, but if you plan on grinding, just remember it's really a $120 machine, not a $100 machine. ... show more

  • First espresso machine First espresso machine
This was my first experience with an espresso machine apart from a nespresso, I was really concerned because I always see videos and reviews about how complex they are. This was super easy to pick up! You can definitely get more into it, with your own tamper, personal grinder, and other accessories, but if you just want to give homemade espresso a try this is a great option! I even used pre ground espresso and I’m already much happier with this compared to my nespresso. I opted for purified bottled drinking water to avoid the hard water I have which I think is also key. I did notice when trying to do the initial rinse of the circuits the espresso button wasn’t causing anything to happen, but I did the steam wand first, and then after that the machine has been functioning great. The steam wand takes some getting used to, my first problem was inserting it too far down into the milk, causing a loud screeching sound, I was able to just slightly put it under the surface and that worked for me. I will probably spring for a milk pitcher, WDT tool, and try out some fresh ground beans next to level this up even further, but if you’re looking to make the jump with a more affordable price tag, this is the machine for you! ... show more

  • Compact and easy to use and clean Compact and easy to use and clean
This review is for the VIOMI T1 Espresso Machine 20 Bar, Compact Espresso Maker with Milk Frother, Coffee Machine with 37oz Removable Water Tank, Expresso Coffee Machines for Home Barista, Latte & Cappuccino Machine, Silver. This espresso machine looks great and makes a tasty drink without breaking the bank. This machine looks and feels sturdy and is not overly complicated to use or clean. First you need to clean it, take off the tape, fill it with water and run a cycle and hand wash the accessories, the whole thing is hand wash only. It does not have a built in grinder, it is recommended to use a burr grinder for espresso, but use what you got, a blade grinder is still effective, especially with dark roasts. Fill and tamp the pod and you are ready to start it. I like that it only has a few buttons, the instructions are clear and you can make single/double shots and a cold brew, I don’t know how that works since I only like my coffee drinks hot. Clean it right after use for easiest care and don’t ever let the spent grinds just sit long term in it, this goes for all machines, it will mold on you. I like it has the quick care instructions on the side for easy reference. It is a good, lower cost option that is not overly fussy and makes a good latte, which is what I got it for. ... show more

  • Cheapest espresso machine
As someone who worked as a barista for many years, I had higher expectations for this espresso machine. The machine looks nice on the counter, is compact, and the espresso quality is decent for the price point. It’s also easy enough for beginners to use. My biggest complaint is how slow it is. The heating and brewing process takes longer than I expected, especially compared to the commercial equipment I’m used to. If you’re making multiple drinks back to back, be prepared to wait. The steam wand is also slower than I would like when frothing milk. Overall, it’s an okay budget friendly machine for occasional home use, but if you’re used to working with professional espresso equipment or want to make drinks quickly, you may find it frustrating. Decent results, but the speed keeps it from earning a higher rating. ... show more

  • Compact Machine With Impressive Performance Compact Machine With Impressive Performance
Wow! Very impressed with this espresso machine, especially for the price point. It has a sleek, compact appearance, takes up very little counter space but still feels solid and surprisingly premium. The 20 bar pressure produces rich espresso with a nice crema. The machine heats up quickly so making drinks is fast and convenient. The controls are simple and easy to understand- very beginner friendly and produces great results. The milk frother works very well and creates a beautiful smooth foam- may take a little practice if you’re new to this. The water tank and drip tray are both removable for easy cleaning. Keep in mind- This does not grind beans so you will need pick one up or purchase pre-ground. An espresso machine cleaning kit is also a must have in order to maintain quality flavor and proper function and long term durability. I’ve used a wide range of machines from home models to large professional ones- For a compact home espresso machine, this delivers impressive performance and aesthetics without the huge price tag of higher-end machines. Solid option for anyone wanting quality espresso at home without sacrificing counter space or your bank account. Great quality and an excellent value for the price. ... show more
