    • Great dash cam, can be picky about memory cards.
I love the Viofo cameras with the starvis 2 sensor. The quality of the video is excellent and the built in display is clear to read. You can get running right away with the USB cigarette lighter plug if you don't want to hardwire the power initially, but there are optional kits if you want to hook it into the car's wiring. The one little quirk i ran into was with the memory card. I had 2 memory cards that for some reason both would only read as a few hundred MB, even if i used the formatting tool from Viofo's website. I even formatted internally from the camera with the same issue. Eventually a format using the built in tool DID work, but if you don't already have a memory card, it might be worth getting a Viofo one just to be safe so you don't run into the issues like i did. The features are easy to see and select within the app, such as loop recording when the memory is full, and selecting the size of the files. I actually feel that the responsiveness was better than the more expensive Blackvue camera i used to use. This is not the cheapest camera on the market, but i genuinely feel it's one of the best for your money, which is important when capturing a potential accident when driving.     • Best dash cam I have ever used! By far the most consistent
In my experience with various dash cam units over the years, I've found issues with every brand I've tried, whether it be the reliability of the camera, the confusing menus, or the poor quality of the image. In trying various brands (including the mirror types), I've returned again and again to this brand. This camera has front, rear, and internal camera coverage, and the video is clear in the daytime as well as at night. I checked back the footage, and it covers everything. It doesn't miss a single second of recording, which is most important! The setup was simple, as I already had a dash cam wired. I pretty much just had to switch the mounting points. As for the memory card, I use a Samsung Pro Endurance, and it has been reliable. The menus were all easy to navigate. No camera will be able to cover every situation, but this one gives me the most peace of mind. ... show more
